Only two short blocks to gorgeous West Cliff Drive, this lovely hideaway is ideally located for everything you want to see and do in Santa Cruz. Travel West Cliff in one direction for less than a mile to arrive at one of the most famous surf spots in the world, Steamer Lane, right at Lighthouse Point and Surfing Museum. From there the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Main Beach and Municipal Wharf are a ten minute walk (see our map on this page).Heading in the opposite direction on West Cliff brings you to Natural Bridges State Park and Beach. Minutes to wineries, bakeries, downtown restaurants, movie theaters, bookstores, shopping and much more. Many good restaurants and Farmer's Markets right in the neighborhood!
We are also minutes from UCSC and very popular with visitors who are associated with students and faculty of our lovely City on the Hill, University of California at Santa Cruz!

New comfortable furnishings including new comfy leather lounge chair, photography and painting by local artists, free WiFi and Smart TV plus cable channels, a futon couch which folds flat into an extra double bed in the living room, and a fully equipped kitchen (with a dishwasher!) and all the essentials and more. There are games, books, DVD movies. Enjoying your time here begins when you arrive!
Bedroom comfort includes a brand-new Simmons BeautyRest deluxe queen size bed, writing desk and chair. Stacked washer/dryer in the closet. Full closet and plenty of shelving for your gear, suitcases, clothes. Full sized futon couch in the living room opens flat can sleep two. Weather/Climate in Santa Cruz has mild weather throughout the year, enjoying a warm-summer mediterranean climate characterized by cool, wet winters and warm, mostly dry summers. Due to its proximity to Monterey Bay, fog and low overcast are common during the night and morning hours, especially in the summer. Bring a light jacket, sweatshirt for mornings and evenings in summer! Many guests return from their vacation with a Santa Cruz sweatshirt (our local uniform!). I have lived all over Santa Cruz County since the mid 70s and there is no better place to be than on the Westside! I have worked in the local medical community and enjoy the healthy outdoor activities that our lovely town has to offer. My son, who was raised here, loves to come home, go surfing, spend some time refueling at the El Palomar Taco Bar, and take in a movie or enjoy local music or live theater. There is no end to the combination of perfect days you can create with all Santa Cruz has to offer you!

If you wish for privacy but want the convenience of being in the middle of where it is all happening, this spot is for you. You don't have to venture far from the neighborhood to sample a wide variety of what Santa Cruz has to offer. Plus, the Westside get the best weather in town right here!
Bike to the Westside Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Go for a walk along West Cliff Drive, maybe walk or bike to the wharf for breakfast or lunch, or to Kelly's Bakery! Watch the surfers at 'The Lane' near the Lighthouse on the way home. Go to the beach! (it is a 5 minute walk from here!). See an exhibit at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center! Go check out the Arboretum at UCSC! Ride your bike to Wilder Ranch! Take in the world renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium only 45 min drive from here! Do some winetasting while shopping for fresh local produce. Retreat to your quiet, private spot for some much needed rest. Enjoy reading while sipping locally crafted wine in the private patio and either have dinner in (BBQ on patio or tasty local take-out) or enjoy any one of almost too many restaurants to list in town just minutes from here. Live theater year round in theaters around the town. Live music all the time! So many movie theaters and bookstores. And sometimes it is just perfect to relax and do what we never let ourselves do...NOTHING!

Our family of four had an amazing stay at Robin's West Cliff Hideaway. Staying here made our vacation so enjoyable. The location is perfect in a quiet, safe neighborhood with a beautiful short walk to the beach. The home is clean, well stocked, welcoming and comfortable. We plan on making this our spot every time we visit Santa Cruz.
Our recent visit to Santa Cruz for a rendezvous with family was one we will always remember. Our lovely West Cliff Hideaway was well equipped and offered a spectacular location to the bluffs, to the market, shopping and to many other popular attractions such as Anuo Nuevo to view the Elephant seals, Steamer's Lane for Paddlefest 2018 and the Santa Cruz pier and harbour for citing of sea lions and otters. Robin's warm welcome and attention to detail ensured we always had a restful place to relax with our family. A true Home away from Home. Thank you Robin.
Loved our West Cliff Hideaway. The walk along the boardwalk on West Cliff is beautiful, we saw many dolphins. The area is so quiet with only the crashing of the surf in the night. The ocean is a short stroll through a little green belt. We took our glass of wine down every night to watch the sunset. There are nice low beach chairs to take, also plastic wine glasses. The hideaway was the perfect size, also very clean. I really appreciate when owners leave little things like; plastic wrap and foil, bags for shopping, umbrellas, a cooler and beach towels. Many things we didn't use, but it's nice that they are there. There is a nice little private area to sit and read in the shade and to bbq. It was a little chilly when we were there for shade, but there are also chairs to sit in front of our place in the sun. The Hideaway made for an enjoyable, quiet, reenergizing week.
Robin anticipated our every need at the "hideaway"! The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies, there was a great deal of tourism info, soaps, shampoo, and plenty of pillows! The hand held shower was great and the bed was super comfy! This house is perfect for anyone wanting to tour the Monterey Bay area. Just a few blocks from the water and a short drive to many great Santa Cruz restaurants and shopping. The Hideaway was everything I expected and more. There is a cute, private backyard space for barbecuing or just reading and relaxing. Its located in a quiet neighborhood area and we felt quite at home! Thanks Robin for being such a great host!
Well appointed apartment in an awesome neighborhood! Robin was a gracious host and the guest apartment/house was just as described. We wanted for nothing and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood on the westside (our favorite!). We enjoyed all that Santa Cruz has to offer during our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer!
There are yoga studios, pilates studios, jazzercise classes, gyms, winetasting, farmer's markets, paddleboarding, surfing, bike trails, hiking, sailing, 40 minutes from San Jose Airport, only 45 minutes to Monterey Bay Aquarium!
