If you are looking for a vacation rental in Florida, this is it. This beautiful, cozy cottage is totally remodeled. It has wood flooring throughout, and the bathroom is totally remodeled. This 3 bedroom cottage sleeps 6 people. The living room area has high-volted ceilings with a cupola and wood beams and 3 sets of French doors which open to a wrap-around, screened in porch that affords waterfront views. A floating dock is available for you to dock your boat.
Come for a perfect vacation on the beautiful Homosassa River. Rent any boat from Safari Rentals on Yulee Drive and spend any number of days on the river exploring its endless water trails (detailed maps provided by Doreen, the owner). Go up the river to crystal clear springs for a swim. You may also see manatees and lots of fish. Enjoy the evenings at the Monkey Bar (an excellent full menu restaurant with moderate prices), watching the monkeys play on the Monkey Island, have a beer at the Shack and watch the boats pass by, or just relax in the privacy of your beautiful waterfront home with its gourmet kitchen and cozy living room with family and friends.
There is a wildlife park just round the corner too, which provides an entire day of wonder and adventure for people of any age. Ask Doreen for a program and directions to the park and see manatees, bald eagles, wolves, Lou the hyppo and everyone else.
You are only 19 miles away from Inverness, where you can begin your bike ride on the longest paved bike trail in Florida, the Withlacochee State Trail. It is also the most beautiful. An average biker may need 3 days to do this trail, which runs 46 miles one way. Just South of Nobleton, the trail gets you to a network of off-road trails (the longest is 32 miles), which makes some of the trails in Northern US look like a joke.
There are many other things to do close by like fishing, boating, sailing, sightseeing, antiquing, golfing, flea market, horseback riding, zoo/wildlife park, kayaking, water skiing, swimming, shelling, scalloping and many more. If you want to rent a boat, there are a number of marinas close by (within walking distance).
The canal is only minutes away to the Gulf of Mexico. You can sit on the fabulous porch and enjoy your morning coffee/breakfast or have an enjoyable dinner out on the porch, with a beautiful view of the waterway. Sometimes you might get lucky seeing dolphins or manatees swimming in the canal right off the deck. Smoking is not allowed inside.

This place is lovely. The home is beautiful, peaceful and spacious. We were able to reconnect and had a blast fishing, kayaking and swimming. We are looking forward to renting this place next year. Loved all the local places to eat and we even drove to Disney World. What a wonderful vacation. The owners were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for a most memorable stay. Thank you, thank you, thank you....
our expectations were truly met in this grand home on the water.lots of room, activities near-by and
lots of fish! There were 10 0f us and we all enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and this clean unique
home. The owners were so nice and made us feel right at home.We recommend to everyone to stay .
We will definitely enjoy this home again!!
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful waterside getaway for three days. The home is only 5 minutes from town, yet feels like a peaceful sanctuary tucked away from everything. There are woods in the front and on one side, a canal with a dock in back, and an empty lot between you and the closet house with many trees all around. The local boat ramp is only a few minutes away. We had no problems bringing our boat by canal to this house. The inside of the house is very clean and well supplied with everything you need. We were suprised how large this house is, yet feels so comfy and cozy. We spent every morning and evening on the wrap around screen porch in two large wicker rockers overlooking the canal. During our stay, we fished from the dock, went by boat to the gulf, caught blue crab, went to the head water spring areato swim, saw dolphins, great blue herons, beautiful wild flowers, and even a mother manatee and her young calf eating ferns from the bank of the rental property! It was a once in a lifetime experience! There was very easy communications and transactions with the owner. I had explained it was our anniversary weekend upon booking the rental, and when we arrived, we were suprised to find a gift basket on the kitchen counter. (Thank you again.) I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants a wonderful getaway. We look forward to returning and bringing the rest of the family with us!
I adore this cottage. It not only is peaceful, clean, very comfortable and a lovely place, but it is also very cozy. I travel a lot and have stayed in many places but this place is on the top of my list for a repeat visit.
We stayed at the home for 4 nights on a scalloping trip. The accomodations are acceptable, would not recommend if you want to keep your boat in the water as the canal is pretty narrow, but it is convenient to a ramp so it is not a problem to bring a boat. Pretty typical rental in Homosassa. The owner was very nice to deal with and wanted to be sure we had everything we needed. There was someone staying in the bottom floor of the home but he did not bother us at all. Good place for a fishing/scalloping trip.
Went to stay at the house for a fishing trip with friends. When we arrived there was old trash all around the front door. The house is unfinished and musty. There is someone living downstairs that she FAILS to tell you about. We got there and the furniture was broken. Wanted to leave when we got there but tried to make the best of a BAD place. At the end of our trip she takes our deposit and blames the broken furniture on us when she KNOWS it was already broken. DONT STAY THERE. Worse house I have ever rented couldnt believe she takes my money and says I broke things that were already broken especially after i complain about the house, trash, others living there without telling us. LOOK FOR ANOTHER PLACE SHE AND THE PLACE IS A SCAM.
