This 1870's farmhouse has just been thoroughly renovated. has 1 king bed, 3 queen beds, 1 set of bunk beds and 1 day bed with trundle for a total of 8 beds. See photos for bedroom layout.
Tasteful vintage decor throughout home. Authentic Vermont rock maple floors, tiled bathrooms, exposed wood beam ceiling are just the beginning. Two separate staircases with the master suit atop one. Second master bedroom and standard bedroom atop the original staircase. Fourth bedroom on the main floor. Four bathrooms, three bathtubs and three showers with on demand hot water insures no one in your group has to wait very long. This is a true foodies kitchen which has an open floor plan with a six burner commercial gas range, lots of counter space, large refrigerator and commercial range hood. The exposed beams and custom made bar top using recycled barn beams give this home a warm and authentic craftsman feel. The home sits on 5.5 acres and is surrounded by state land. The yard is private and large, great for children and dogs. lovely natural stone patios in both the front and the back of the home. Not more than a couple hundred feet away is the entrance to Cotton brook recreation area. Cotton brook is the "locals" entrance to the Waterbury reservoir and has an area to launch your canoe or kayak. There are great fishing spots, tubing, swimming, Mtn biking, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling or just skipping stones on the river beach shore. It is wonderful for everyone. Just up the Hill is Trapp family lodge, the Stowe Trout Club and trails to the top of Mt. Mansfield. The house is just 2.5 miles to the mountain road, the bike path and the most popular restaurant in Stowe (Pie-Casso) is just another half mile up the road, plus, because of the location you can avoid the traffic of Stowe village if you choose. For your entertainment there is ping pong and foosball in the heated garage, wifi, internet connections in three of the four bedrooms. The living room has a new Samsung 55 inch led television with surround sound in the ceiling and Roku for internet tv. There is also a great stereo with speakers in living room, kitchen and back patio. The master suite also has a wall mounted flat screen.
We took our kids here for a Christmas ski weekend and it was wonderful. There was plenty of room and a game room to hang out in at night after a day of skiing. The kitchen had a large stove which helped prepare all our meals much easier. It was convenient to Mt. Mansfield and to the center of town to go shopping. We had a great time and plan to make this a yearly event.
We had a great stay over the Thanksgiving holiday at this gorgeous VT home. The home is newly remodeled and everything is top of the line. If we come back to Stowe we would definitely stay again. If your travels bring you through the area do not hesitate to rent this house, you won't be disappointed.
The house was great. Kitchen was very modern. Lots of space for larger groups, but we only had 5 ppl. Convenient location close to points of interest.
This was my family's 2nd year staying here, and it's such a great house..
Has everything you need to feel at home..
Enjoyed sitting by the fire pit, cooking great meals and great location..
The owner Paul is very quick to respond to questions, and always the home was spottless...
Lots to do around there, highly recommend staying at this home..
Two halves of the house; my wife and I on one side in large master bedroom suite with great master bath and office. Our three older boys in the other half each with their own bedroom. Great vacation for all. Ping pong and foosball in the attached garage kept the boys busy when home; comfortable living room; big central kitchen; great aesthetic throughout the house. Large yard with hammocks and some impressive pines; convenient central location: waterbury - stowe - smugglers notch - morristown; great home base for trips out to the reservoir, rec path, swim holes, hikes. We had a great time for the two weeks we spent here. Kudos to Paul for his thoughtful touches throughout - easy, laid back and solid vibe to the space. Loved the pipes and the radiators!
Stowe abounds with outdoor activities and Trapp Hill is close to them all but sits nestled on its own 5.5 acres and surrounded by state land.
