Having both grown up spending family vacations in NH, it was only a matter of time for us to decide to continue the tradition with our now combined family and friends. We love the outdoors, spending time hiking or at the lake with our dog, Pocono, and North Conway offers a welcoming vibe and easy access to endless adventures that we find ourselves coming back to again and again. We hope that you will get much enjoyment at our getaway and share countless memories with friends and family as we have.
Dave & Lindsey purchased this chalet in 2015
This neighborhood offers the best of North Conway for our ideal lifestyle and downtime. Walking distance to Echo Lake for swimming, Cathedral Ledge for hiking, and mountain biking in the White Mountains National Forest - all possible without even getting in a car! Quick and convenient access to North Conway village for restaurants and shopping along with plenty of family-friendly attractions and 6 ski mountains within 30mins, while being tucked away in a scenic and peaceful oasis... who can resist escaping to such a refreshing and relaxing place at every chance?!
The property was exactly as described. Great views of Cathedral ledge, 2 minute ride to Diana's bath, less than 4 minutes to downtown N. Conway. All while being secluded and private. Great fire pit, well stocked kitchen with all appliances, coffee maker, etc. etc. Dog friendly was a +++ and most of the reason we chose this property. I am a bit bias in that I want to bring my dog but don't like a house to smell like dog. I felt like I was sneaking my dog in because there was no sign that a dog had previously been in this house. No hair, no smell, no stains, nothing. Perfect for families small or large who want a comfortable place to be when they are not out enjoying everything the white mountains has to offer.
The property was beautiful and you couldn't ask for a better location. Convenient to all that North Conway has to offer but away from the busy tourist area. Absolutely loved the cozy feel of the house. Me and my family enjoyed it very much and would definitely book again in the future.
This was our second time staying at Lindsey and Dave's chalet. My husband, myself, and our three kids visited last year and had such a great time that we came back again this year. The location of the home is perfect, close to Diana's Bath, Echo Lake, and Cathedral Ledge. The house is just a few minutes to town which is perfect for dinner and looking at the shops. The home was clean when we arrived, Lindsey & Dave were very responsive, and my family had a great time. I liked that the bedrooms were in a separate area so once we put the kids to bed we could sit upstairs and outside and enjoy the cool mountain air. One challenge, which we knew about before going, would be the 1 bathroom. Since we now had 2 more newly potty trained kids we knew it would be a little challenging at times, but it worked out. Already looking forward to coming up again next year, but this time for a week!!
We had a wonderful vacation with extended family. The house was neat and clean when we arrived. We had one small issue with a fan and Dave and Lindsey responded immediately. The area was great for walking our dogs and kids. The kids were able to ride their bikes. It was very close to everything we wanted to do. Diana's Bath, Catherdral Ledge, Storyland, Saco River kayaking and tubing. Just a perfect location.
Thanks for a great vacation.
Pros: The property is in a GREAT location. Super close to lake, to Diana's baths (both gorgeous!) and also to main road with all the shops, restaurants, train ride, groceries, park for kids, mini golf, antiques, etc. The property upstairs was a nice size. We were 5 adults with 5 small children (1-7yrs).Wifi worked. BBQ worked. The owners are very nice! ...which makes writing this review painful.
Cons: As soon as you walked in you could smell that musty moldy air. The bedrooms are in the basement and whole house is carpeted. I have allergies to dust and mold, so I needed my meds everyday staying there. Bedrooms are super tiny and only 2 bedrooms had a small dresser (5 small drawers), so you basically need to live out of your suitcase(which barely fits in the room). We had to bring our own sheets and when i went to put them on...one of the beds had a mattress cover with a nasty brown stain AND the trundle bed had MOLD! Not just the mattress cover but the ACTUAL mattress AND wooden bed frame. Our kids were in that room and that was unsettling! (I did advise the owners, and while he was very apologetic, but for me it was just so gross...kind of like getting a plate of food with a long hair in it...damage done!) You are expected to clean the place, and apparently there is a property manager that checks the place. So basically, you are relying on the fact that vacationers are cleaning that house before you get there. I found a dirty sock under a couch when I vacuumed. Also, the place has 1 bathroom (10 ppl needing to shower and do their business...luckily we were family (3sisters) and half of us would go in while other was in shower). There is no A/C. The week we stayed it was 35 degrees celsius (so 95 F) and it was brutal. No amount of fans and opened patio doors helped at that temperature. Also, no washer/dryer. Property needs maintenance. The floorboards upstairs are so loud that anyone sleeping downstairs will be woken up.
The location is what makes this property, but we ALL agreed that we would not stay there again.
Needs upgrades (remove carpet) and maintenance (remove mold).
the place match the description, well located, walking distance to trails, nice bbq area and fire pit, the place is fully equipped. It is spacious enough to stay comfortably at 6+ person.
We will keep the address and come back soon!
