Orchid Villa is only 15 - 20 minutes from Disney World and a short drive to the popular US 192 where many bars, restaurants and gift shops are located. If you have spent a frenetic day at one of the big theme parks, we personally think Trafalgar Village is a much better retreat for wearied explorers who need to put their feet up. Our experience is that a good tactic for Florida holidays is to alternate days between the big theme parks and lazy by the pool resort days, and Trafalgar Village is a wonderful choice for just that.
There are many golf courses within easy driving distance, some with very affordable green fee rates. The nearest supermarket is latino and only a few minutes drive away with very reasonably priced food and drink. For more upmarket groceries we highly recommend a visit to a Whole Foods store.
And last, but by no means least for most visitors to Florida, just remember:- Fantastic location, only minutes from:
- Universal Studios Disney Parks Sea World Epcot Centre Gatorland (try a gator burger if you feel brave) Islands of Adventure Universal Studios City Walk Wet N Wild Mall at Millennia (an absolute MUST for you shopaholics especially the ladies) Downtown Disney (a must do for one evening especially the amazing dinosaur and rainforest restaurants, which both adults and children will love) Veranda Park (shopping, dining and nightlife) Florida Mall Orlando Premium Outlets Pointe Orlando (shopping, dining and nightlife) Airboat rides (don't forget the mosquito repellant) Winter Park (an utterly charming and picturesque town with great shops and a more European feel) Citrus Bowl Orlando Museum of Art Wekiwa Springs State Park AND SO MUCH MORE!!!!
