Because we are centrally located 12 miles, 20 minutes from Hershey Pennsylvania and Dutch Country. But not only that we are only 90 minutes from Philadelphia and only 45 minutes from Valley Forge. Gettysburg is about a hour away in the other direction. So as you can see there are alot of things a family can do.
Centrally located between Hershey Pennsylvania and Lancaster Pennsylvania Dutch Country
Very spacious clean home that fit all the needs of three families visiting Hershey Park. Owners were very responsive and easy to work with.
There was nine of us sharing the house for eight days. The property and house are great. We also had a mini gathering of our family and my wives sister and her family which totaled 17 folks. The back patio and grill area were perfect for get together. Well pleased with our rental.
We really enjoyed our recent stay! It was beautifully decorated and spacious. It was so perfect for our large group. We held a rehearsal dinner here and it easily accommodated us. The yard is beautiful and such a lovely patio! My only difficulty, was lack of cooking and kitchen utensils, otherwise perfect!
We enjoyed this big beautiful house. With 5 children/teenagers, having two rooms with twin beds was helpful. A lot of houses that "sleep 10" have only 5 or 6 beds. We rode bikes to Mt. Gretna on the bike path. I was glad we asked the owner where to find it, because it wasn't actually that clear from the house where to go to find the bike path. Maps of the surrounding area and rail to trails map would have been helpful. We were interested in looking at quilt shops in PA Dutch area and biking and hiking.
Frank suggested Bluebird Inn for dinner, which was perfect with great food.
I had made a reservation for Timbers in Mt Gretna for Easter Brunch buffet, and we were not impressed. Food was mediocre, though it is a pretty setting.
I don't know what the town of Lebanon is like in the summer, but in the early Spring there wasn't anything there. It was boring and kind of industrial, not like the quaint towns we drove through as we explored the surrounding area.
My children, grandchildren and I spent the week after Christmas here in this lovely home and it was delightful. There were 9 of us total (5 adults, 3 teenagers and 1 pre-teen). The house was a perfect fit! We were able to have our times together in the large kitchen, dining room and living room areas, but were able to sneak away for alone time in our separate bedrooms or other quiet parts of the house as desired. Frank and Anne have done a beautiful job of decorating and we loved the quaint touches of history throughout. At the same time, they have provided all the conveniences you could hope for. We enjoyed walking the rails to trails into town and the park just down the road. The Sight and Sound theater is in nearby Lancaster and we attended their Christmas presentation - it was wonderful. Frank was just a text away with any questions we had and graciously responded in a timely manner. When asked if we would ever go back, the resounding response was YES! It was a great experience.
My long weekend vacation stay at Frank (owner) home was very delightful. It was very spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the front yard where we played Bagmaton and Ball. The kitchen was well equipped that we cooked one night. Unfortunately we did not get to use the pool table - but we hope to do so next summer. The restaurants in the neighborhood was good especially Magic Wok - we loved the Chinese food. We enjoyed our drive to and from Hershey Park and Hershey Chocolate World. We had a great time - I will recommend this home for a PA vacation stay. Thank you :) VRBO and Frank :)
Lebanon County is such a beautiful place. We raised our children here. My wife and I downsized and we agreed that we wanted to leave this house for our children. So this why we are letting other use it until the day comes when we can no longer do it.
