I recommend LYFT as an alternative to a taxi. It is SO much better than calling a taxi, faster response and cheaper! I highly recommend downloading the app onto your smart phone. UBER is another alternative.

Nashville has much to offer but the big initial attraction is Lower Broadway, the Honky-Tonks, and all the great free music (bring some $1's and $5's for tips). You can certainly stay in a downtown hotel and totally immerse yourself in that scene, but they are expensive and I think one or two night’s honky tonkin’ would be plenty for anyone. It can get pretty intense (though in a fun, safe way). During the day you won’t find great coffee shops or a huge selection of hip restaurants downtown. “Rockin’ On The Row” condo is 5-7 minutes by car (depending on time of day), $10 by taxi (cheaper and nicer by Lyft/Uber) to all the crazy excitement of Lower Broad. Plus you get more space here for a lot less money.
Music Row, Mid-Town, Demonbruan , Edge Hill, Belmont, Vanderbilt, Hillsboro Village. The Gulch, 12th South: “Rockin’ On The Row” condo is perfectly located for the visiting songwriter (steps away from NSAI), college family, or someone who just wants to experience the best of Nashville.
Quick rundown on the areas you need to know about:
Belmont College and surrounding area: 1.2 miles/ Bongo Java, International Market (tasty, cheap, and colorful!), BLVD, PM, Chago’s Cantina.
Hillsboro Village: 1.2 miles- Fido, Pancake Panty, Cabana , Belcourt Taps, many great restaurants, funky shops.
12 South - - trendy restaurants, shops. Burger Up, Framagio
Midtown – 5 minute walk. Trendy bars and restaurants. Losers, Winners, Red Door, Sliders, Chuy’s.Hatti B’s Chicken, Lots of Vanderbilt students.
Centennial Park - full-scale replica of The Parthenon of Ancient Greece.
The Gulch – 5 minute drive/walkable. - Station Inn, many great restaurants and shops (don't miss Two Old Hippies).
Lower Broadway - Honky Tonk Heaven! 7-10 minutes Lyft/Drive - All the free music and fun you could ever hope for. Walk halfway across the pedestrian bridge for an iconic view of Nashville.
Green Hills - 15 minute drive/Lyft/Uber/bus. Bluebird Cafe. Shopping heaven but lots of traffic.
East Nashville - 15 minute drive/Lyft/Uber. Five Points area, Mas Taco, The Pharmacy.
To rent a car or not: Nashville is a car friendly town. Street parking is available and designated parking lots where it costs anywhere from $5 to $15. The condo is perfectly located to points of interest that are either walkable or an easy taxi/Lyft/Uber ride away.
Other Things to Note
If you want to go to the Bluebird Cafe, the early show at 6 or 6:30 is always a good bet and free with a $7 minimum at a table. Booking in advance has become a necessity since the TV show NASHVILLE has made the 'Bird crazy popular. Go to their website (add cafe to Bluebird) to learn how to make reservations. If they start taking reservations at 8am on a particular day for the following week, get online 5 or 10 minutes early and you will be placed in a random cue. Do not hesitate by deciding what table. It can be sold out in minutes!

Rockin on the Row was an incredible place to stay! Kristen had excellent communication and went above & beyond in her suggestions and hospitality. She had a full supply of toiletries, fresh towels, extra blankets, AMAZINGLY soft sheets, tea/coffee in the cupboard, everything you might need or may have forgotten. The location was great!! We walked to several bars/restaurants off of Division St & Vanderbilt areas, and a quick uber from Lower Broadway. My husband & I stayed here for two nights before going to the Opryland Hotel for our anniversary, and we both would have been more than happy to stay there our entire trip. We would HIGHLY recommend Rockin on the Row for your authentic Nashville location. Thank you Kristen!!
This was a very special trip for me and my friends, and arriving at this adorable condo just was the icing on the cake. I felt more then welcomed, I felt like Kristen truly cared about me and my friends trip to Nashville.
The little amenities that were included were a nice touch and the sheets were SO INCREDIBLY SOFT (I must get some!!!).
I can't say enough good things about this property, the location, the experience and the correspondence I had with the owner. I would not only recommend this property, I would URGE you to book it and enjoy it.
We experienced "ubering" for the first time and it was SO EASY and very affordable. There was a couple of restaurants you could walk to and because we flew in and didn't have a car, UBER allowed us a VERY quick, 5 minute drive to down town.
Thank you for allowing a very special trip to become even more perfect with your special touches Kristen!
We stayed here for five days for CMA Fest and couldn't have been happier. The condo was clean, had plenty of space, and just the right amenities. We felt very welcome here and it was in a great location so we were able to walk or get a cab ride (which was very cheap) wherever we went. It also felt very safe (unlike some other places we've stayed at previously). The kitchen was great for cooking, and the condo was close enough to some great restaurants for days we wanted to go out. We were so pleased and cannot wait to come back to Nashville!
This condo was perfect for our Nashville long weekend. The décor is so cute and we felt right at home. The bed and other furniture was comfortable. We were able to walk everywhere. There are plenty of restaurants close by and we also walked to the Gulch, Vanderbilt University and downtown. Thanks Kristen for sharing your home with us.
Good location. Very clean. Will stay there again when coming back the Nashville.
My daughter and I just stayed at Rockin on the Row last week and it was fantastic. It had all the amenities of home. Kristen thought of everything to make our
stay super comfortable. It was a great location and we were able to walk to many of our favorite spots for dinner or drinks. It is also just a very short ride downtown and with ample parking made having a car very easy. I would definitely recommend Rockin on the Row and will stay there the next time I am in town.
