The unique position permits you to go everywere in only few steps: shops, museums, monuments, restaurants. You’ll live an unforgettable experience being in the core of the most ancient part of Florence.

The apartment is at the 3rd floor of an historic building. It has been completely renovated in April 2015 and offers all the comfort: conditioning, jet tub, washing machine. The furnishing is brand new and the dominant white colour offers a quiet and fresh retreat after a day full of beautiful sights.

About Silvia

I'm a former scientist, I like to travel and, when I started this fantastic adventure in the world of tourism I tried to wear the tourist's shoes: which kind of services I would appreciate if I were in a foreign town, not knowing the local language and no confidence with local habits?

To give informations is the most important part of my work, that makes the difference between a normal journey and a fantastic experience in Florence.

Having guests is for me still a pleasure and not only a business.

Silvia purchased this apartment in 2015

Why Silvia chose Historic Center

The area around the Duomo in Florence is the real heart of the town. You will find everything within few hunders metres and you will enjoy the real spirit of the town.

Where else can you stroll the same pedestrian streets walked by Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Botticelli while savoring the world’s best gelato?

Did you know? The gelato was created by a Florentine architect: Bernardo Buontalenti!

What makes this apartment unique

Here you won't need a car (driving and parking in Italy can be a real nightmare!).

The need to climb the stairs is compensated by the view from the windows and being far from the buzz of the road.

The apartment has a lovely terrace (a rarity in central Florence) where you can quietly sip your tea or coffee and answer to the mail, thanks to the free wifi, after a day full of sightseeing.

Nice, but be careful

  • 3 of 5

The apartment is large, bright, well furnished and fine. The owner is honest and reliable. The agent who manages the apartment, however, is not to be trusted. Anyone who had cleaned or inspected the apartment before we arrived could not have failed to have noticed that the wash basin in the smaller bathroom did not drain AT ALL and that the shower head in the other bathroom was on the side of the bathtub and that there was no shower hose at all. But, when we reported this, the agent told the owner that we had said that we had had an "accident" and broken the shower. Hence, we were charged for the damage already done when we arrived. Obviously no one checked out the place before we arrived. I would not rent the apartment unless you could be certain that the agent is not the one who was managing it in May, 2016, or you might find yourself in trouble. One should just be aware that there are exactly 64 steps to climb to get to the apartment, which might be a consideration for some.

Owner's Response: Dear Thomas, thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry for your disappointment. I manage the apartment together with other friends and we always try to do our best to meet our guest’s need. We treasure all the suggestions our guests send us to improve the quality of our work. In order to give the best possible service, we created a trustworthy group of specialists. Amongst these there are professional maids who clean the apartment and who are specifically trained to check not only the bathrooms, but also all the main amenities in the apartment each time before every guest's arrival and no damage was reported before you came. Regards the steps, there isn’t any hidden surprise since in the description it is clearly indicated that the apartment is at the third floor of an ancient building. I wish to point out that, according to the Italian Law, to rent an apartment to the tourists can’t include a concierge nor the porter services (exclusive for hotels). Despite this, you called more than once per day my friend M. for any possible reason and she was nice enough to answer to all your questions, moreover she helped you to transport upstairs your very heavy luggage although she is a young lady and although it wasn't her duty at all. For this reason we don’t understand your complaining; we did our job far beyond our duty. We are happy to give our suggestions to our guests to better organize their stay in Florence; for this we usually send many info about visiting Florence and in the apartment there is a brochure with all the possible useful info (restaurants, groceries…even where are the closest recycle garbage bins) and my personal contacts (mobile and email). Nevertheless To show you that we really believe in what we do and to we can offer to you a day free (on a minimum three days stay) for your next stay in Florence.

Spacious, quiet and very central

  • 5 of 5

On arrival we were welcomed at the apartment by Tom, who showed us around and was very keen to ensure that we were comfortable.

The apartment was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The sofas in the main lounge area were very comfortable for relaxing on after a long day's sightseeing. Everything was spotless and well presented. Beds were very comfortable, although we all felt that we could have benefited from an additional pillow each.

You couldn't wish for a more central location. This was a real bonus with having the children as we could pop back to the apartment mid-day for a rest and recharge for the afternoon's sightseeing. At the same time, once inside the apartment it was incredibly quiet. The two main bedrooms look down on the street (incidentally there is a great shop selling croissants, pastries, juices and coffee just opposite the apartment). My daughter just loved opening her window and looking down on the people meandering by below.

The apartment is very close to the Duomo (you can just see the top of it from the living room window). We loved waking to the sound of the bells (honestly not at all intrusive).

This city is truly stunning and this apartment was the icing on the cake.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your words, I'm very glad that you liked our apartment and your stay in Florence. To me hospitality is still a pleasure and I'm happy to hear that my efforts to make our guests to feel like at home were appreciated. Thank you also for your detailed description of the apartment and its location, it will be useful for all the future guests. I really hope that you will come back in the future. Ciao Silvia

excellent

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time in Florence. The apartment was very well located, clean, and had all the amenities you could ask for. The only negative was the air conditioning. The unit that cools the bedrooms didn't cool the bedrooms. The rest of the apartment was cool so our kids slept in the living room on the couches.

We will definitely recommend this to others.

Owner's Response: Dear Portia, thank you for your words. It is always a pleasure to host people like you. Come back, will wait for you! Regards the conditioning, when we came, after your stay, to clean the apartment we found the conditioning set to "simple fan"; is it possible that you changed the settings? I think that probably this is the reason why that unit didn't cool the bedrooms.

Car: not necessary

The apartment is located in the heart of the ancient "castrum", the Roman nucleus of the first "Florentia", only 150 metres from the Duomo .

You won't need any car to reach all the museums, restaurants, shops etc.: you'll feel like a real florentine and Florence will be at your feet!

The location is unique:

Duomo – 150 metres (the astonishing Brunelleschi's dome)

Bargello Museum – 200metres (Michelangelo, Donatello, Verrocchio...)

Uffizi Gallery – 300 metres (Leonardo, Botticelli and many others)

Pontevecchio – 500 metres (the most ancient bridge in town where the jewelers have their seat since the end of 1500)

Santa Croce – 600 metres (here are the graves of Galileo, Michelangelo and many others).
