Gorgona is one of the most visited beaches due to its close proximity to the city. The beach in Gorgona is a mixture of white and volcanic sand and you can walk for miles. There are palm trees planted and offer some shade on the beach. The weather is always warm even in the rain. It is in the tropical climate and in the 80's and 90's year around.
This gated community has 24 hour security and is well lighted at night. The pool area and beach are not crowded at all.
There are several good restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and most anything you need with in 10 minute drive from the apartment.
Panama uses the US dollar and so it is very easy to shop here.
You can drink the water in most places of Panama including at Playa Serena.

John and Chris came to Panama on an investment tour with some friends in April of 2001.
We were living in western Wyoming, working in the cold long winters and all the snow. We knew that we would not be living there year around after we retired.
We came back to Panama, several times to see what the weather was like at different times of the year.
We had been looking for a place to buy and call home. We now live in Boquete, Chiriqui, de Panama.
Several things we liked about Panama, over other places are you can drink the water if you wish, they use the US money, (so you don't have to have a calculator to figure the price of things). The people are very nice and friendly, English and Spanish are spoken here and the cost of living is less here than in the united States. Also we enjoy the coffee that is grown here in Chiriqui. We take lots of it back fro friends and family.
We love Panama!!!
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2010
We enjoy living in Boquete, but we also like the beach and so do our grown children. This beautiful new condo is only 50 minutes from Panama City, but is out of all the noise and traffic. The beach and pool are not crowded and are very nice.
We are right on the beach, and just love the sound of the ocean waves in the evenings sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine, or if there are several people there just open the doors and use the living room and dinning room and still have the sound of the waves.
I do not like the salt water and there is a swimming pool there with fresh water that I use. There is also a charcoal BBQ grill that you can use.
There are lots of lounge chairs for use in the shade or in the sun.
My husband and I stayed here for almost three weeks and couldn't have been happier, we truly hated to leave. The condo has quality furnishings and amenities. We enjoyed endless walks on the beach both morning and evening. The pool and workout room were clean and well equipped. Views from the condo were so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing!! Nearby shopping and restaurants options have really grown in the past few years. I would highly recommend this beachfront condo for anyone that wants to get away from it all!!
John, We had a great time at Playa Serena. The condo was very nice with good kitchen amenities. The king bed seemed to be a super king size. The view out of all the rooms was great especially at sunset. Location was convenient. I can't believe how Coronado has exploded with shopping options. The condo and public spaces were very clean. The guys from Panama Sol realty were very helpful. The wifi and TV worked well. The pool was very nice and a clean. The large boheo area by the pool was nice and shady. Go to La Ruina for drinks/meal - just a few blocks away. Go to Playa Santa Clara for the day. The shaded boheo with 2 chairs and 2 hammocks is just $10.
One big draw back is the sound of the wind in the area outside the door at the elevator landing.
Basicly the area is open to the outside and the structure acts like a flute when the wind blows - which it can in Panama. This wind gets rid of almost all of the insects which is great - did not see one mosquito. But it just howled at times. The building owners need to put up baffling or close off the openings. If it wasn't for this howling it would have been heaven.
Note: if you are renting for less than a month the security people will not allow visitors - learned this when our friends tried to come see us and we had to go elsewhere.
