Pontone Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms featuring traditional warm Italian hospitality

"Dint' a Torre" Bed & Breakfast (which in the local dialect means "in the tower") is located in a 3-story house built in the 20th century, recently restored, to offer its distinguished guests a relaxing atmosphere in the heart of medieval Pontone - the "Village Museum" between Amalfi and Ravello. Located on the hillside and surrounded by lemon trees and vineyards, Dint' a Torre is just a stone's throw from the sea. A unique site offering tranquility and a breathtaking, panoramic view of the blue sky, the green hills and the shimmering sea of the Amalfi Coast.

It is our aim to provide all of our guests with traditional warm Italian hospitality combined with comfortable accommodation and service in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere as if you were at your own home.

We, the property owners, live on site, so there is always someone available to assist with guests needs. Our wish is to make your stay as relaxing as possible offering an excellent solution for those who wish to immerse themselves in nature and stay at reasonable prices without sacrificing the standards of modern comfort.

Our rooms are quiet, well-maintained and tastefully decorated featuring a panoramic terrace with amazing views of the hills and the sea of the Amalfi Coast, en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, Internet access, telephone, hairdryer, TV and minibar...

...and after a good night's sleep, you will start your day with our healthy and delicious breakfast, freshly prepared with local ingredients by Signora Angela (the property owner) using recipes from past days, which still maintain their authentic taste. After breakfast, you may like to relax and enjoy the sunshine and incomparable panorama on the terrace.

Our property is a Bed & Breakfast featuring three individual rooms. We, the B&B owners, live onsite and all information will be given to guests upon arrival. Please note this listing rate is for 1 double room for 2 persons featuring queen-size bed, en-suite bathroom and panoramic balcony inclusive of daily cleaning, Italian-style breakfast, and excluding the city tax of €1 per guest per night (for a maximum stay of 7 nights, except for children under 12 years of age). At request, you can also book one space in our private garage located right below our B&B to park your car safely at the convenient price of €15 per car per day (or €10 for stays longer than 3 days). This is a rare convenience, which allows you to solve the parking problem throughout your stay in Amalfi Coast. City tax and parking fees (if any) can be settled in cash on departure. Lunch and dinner are not offered, however, we are happy to recommend you good restaurants nearby.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Amalfi Coast!

See you soon in Pontone...

Angela & Antonio

About Domenico Palumbo

"Dint' a Torre" Bed & Breakfast is owned by the Palumbo family - a distinguished and noble family originally from the enchanting Campania region of Southern Italy.

The message we wish to give to our Guests is the same that we have received. We are three siblings who were brought up and lived for sometime in the "old tower", sharing the beauty of our childhood, the most significant period of life. Then, we soared just like three white doves to discover new places and bring our message of peace and serenity.

Domenico Palumbo purchased this farmhouse in 1975

Why Domenico Palumbo chose Salerno province

Our property is located in Pontone, which is an excellent starting point for excursions to the other centers along the Amalfi Coast and, especially for nature and mountain trail lovers, to the "Valle delle Ferriere" or towards the famous "Torre dello Ziro".

What makes this farmhouse unique

As our goal is to make your stay an unforgettable experience, you will certainly enjoy the goodness and freshness of our homemade breakfast delicacies featuring our signature yogurt cake with lemon or orange jams.

The region of Campania on the south-west coast of Italy is home to one of the world's most famous and most beautiful coastlines - the Amalfi Coast. This spectacular area draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to enjoy the mildness of the climate, the exotic vegetation of palms, lemon and orange trees and the remarkable sandstone cliffs which plunge dramatically into the turquoise Mediterranean sea.

Following the hair-raising coast road on the Amalfi peninsula you will encounter a sea-bound landscape of fragrant citrus orchards and flowering bougainvillea. Take your time, explore, and look closely - the plunging coastline hides tiny fishing villages hugging hidden coves. One of the "must sees" is the Gardens at Ravello. Also, take sometime to visit the gorgeous Duomo di Sant'Andrea in Amalfi. If you go in high season, there's a good chance you'll see a wedding taking place.

A holiday on the Amalfi Coast is also a great opportunity to visit the other attractions in the region, the vast majority of which are located around the Bay of Naples and on the coast of Sorrento. The island of Capri, the great archeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the ancient city of Paestum with its greek temples: a choice of destinations for an unforgettable day trip from the Amalfi Coast, all easy to reach by car, bus, train or boat.

Overlooking Amalfi, Pontone is a picturesque hillside village roughly 200 meters above sea level. Currently a district of Scala, Pontone was part of the Municipality of Amalfi until the early 20th century during which time it was a popular destination for the clergy and noble class of the Amalfitan Duchy who were in search of the casual and relaxed atmosphere the village had to offer...

Today Pontone is still a quiet and rural village that enchants every visitor with the renowned warmth and hospitality of its villagers, its aristocratic houses, bell towers and three churches of great historical and artistic value. Pontone's daily life is based around its main square or "piazza" featuring the medieval church of St. John the Baptist, which dates back to the 12th century. Around the same square, you will find two restaurants/pizzeria offering superb local cuisine and a coffee bar where you can sit right under the trees in the square enjoying a good "espresso" or a cold beer.

Pontone is also an excellent starting point for excursions to the other centers along the Amalfi Coast and, especially for nature and mountain trail lovers, to the "Valle delle Ferriere" or towards the famous "Torre dello Ziro".

Forget the car, put on a pair of walking boots and make your way along the spectacular footpaths on the Amalfi Coast. Ancient mule tracks and precipitous cliff edge paths which, until the SS163 was built, were the only viable routes existing between the towns dotted along the Amalfi Coast.

Walk through sweet smelling lemon orchards and tiny vegetable patches stolen from the mountainside, under the watchful gaze of the occasional goat or donkey, past ancient hermitages and convents to reach panoramas which will, quite literally, take your breath away.
