On one side of the unit you're overlooking the community tennis court which is just steps away. On the other side you have a short walk to the water of the Gulf of Mexico. This unit is located in Barrier Dunes, a gated community on the north end of Cape San Blas, which backs up to the St Joseph State Park. Barrier Dunes offers two community pools, tennis courts, ponds with live fish, a playground for children, and of course beach access. This unit has a great location that is just about equidistant to either pool, very close to the tennis courts, and a short walk to the beach. Inside you have wood floors, comfy furniture, and all the amenities of home.

Very relaxing and very nice home.We loved the dock and access to the bay. Also the beach was pristine and just across the street. The home was very clean and easy to keep clean over a two week stay.Loved it!!
My husband and I were taking the grandkids on vacation and this was the perfect house. It's decorated with all the nautical themes you'd expect, it's very comfortable, and at the same, it's not so perfect that you're not comfortable. We want to relax and not worry every second that the kids will mess something up.
Another review mentioned the dock being in the neighbor's yard and overgrown. There were a few palmetto fronds that you had to push out of the way, nothing major, really not something I even paid much attention. Three houses are sharing the dock for now but with the exception of maybe 45 minutes total, we had the dock to ourselves. The dock is long, no I mean loooooong, enjoy it! I considered it part of the overall experience, no hurry, just enjoy the trip. The water is shallow but so crystal clear, you never know what you'll see. The kids had a blast with their nets, chasing fish by day and shrimp by night. Take some great flashlights or headlights to really enjoy it. We were also fortunate enough to be there during a meteor shower and the dock was just amazing for star watching.
Don't let the other review scare you about the neighbor's dog. His name is King and he may be a bit intimidating looking but he does his own thing. He's an older guy and likes to be left alone, We only saw him out a couple of times and he went his way and we went ours.
The king master bed is comfortable and the room is a good size, same for the queen bed and room. The bunkroom is small as expected. There was a minor complaint there, the box spring on bottom needs replaced with one for a bunk, it makes the bed too high for anyone except a small child. We found a solution by putting a blowup twin mattress in the master closet, for the grandson, as long as the door was open he had enough air from the surrounding room and could hide out with his games when he wanted quiet.
All in all, it was a perfect week. The biggest complaint is that we had too much fun and were absolutely exhausted. But would I go back? I certainly hope to!
Property not well kept. Bushes and trees block walkway. Homeowners car and small boat take up half of the covered parking under house. Walkway to dock goes through neighboring house and is blocked by foliage in a couple of places. Neighbor's dog is pretty intimidating as well and spends a lot of time outside and on dock. Scared kids pretty well. House interior is in good condition, is in a good location to stores and scalloping but at low tide be prepared to drag your boat in.
