About Elizabeth

I am a full-time resident in Rockport. I live around the corner from the house so am available for anything a guest might need while staying in my home. I am a fitness professional, teaching group fitness and training individual clients. I am also a vegan master chef and offer vegan catering for those interested.

I grew up on the south shore of Massachusetts and in Oak Bluffs, on Martha's Vineyard. I love Rockport as much as (or maybe more!) than either place. It's the best of both worlds---island life, yet here, I can drive over the bridge to get to the rest of the world. Not that I do that very often anymore.

I am a graduate of Emerson College and of the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as the American Counsel on Exercise.

I have two adult children, both of whom live nearby.

Living by the sea is one of the ways I experience joy in my life. I am also a distance runner, and running here is incredibly beautiful and challenging. We have lots of hills! It's great race training and worth every uphill mile.

Elizabeth purchased this house in 2003

Why Elizabeth chose Merrimack Valley & Essex County

My home is in a wonderful location. The neighborhood is quiet, yet the walk to town or to the beach is brief. The house itself is big and airy. The rooms are generous and the open floor plan allows for the cool ocean breezes" caress on a hot summer night. There is ac available if a guest wants that, but somehow, going to sleep listening to the waves on the rocky shore and the boats in the harbor with their halyards gently ringing make a wonderful sound for good sleep. Wake up and watch the sunrise from the front deck as you sip a delicious cup of organic coffee. Spend the day at the beach, then walk across to the Headlands after dinner for a spectacular view of the sunset over Rockport Harbor.

What makes this house unique

The garden is done in natural style, with loads of flowering perennials and annuals. Roses, day lilies, bright yellow and pink coreopsis, and purple leatrix bloom all summer long. There is also a round-shaped succulent garden visible from the great room windows, as well as from the picnic table and umbrella in the yard.

Inside, enjoy comfortable memory foam mattresses and fresh, soft linens in rooms designed for sleep. Room darkening curtains keep the master bedroom dark enough to sleep in late for guests who would like to catch some extra winks while on vacation. Room darkening shades can be pulled in the second bedroom. Both rooms are lovely, calm colors.

The location and the interior design of my home make it a special place to stay in Rockport.

Beautiful and relaxing family vacation in Rockport

  • 5 of 5

We had such an amazing week last year and are returning again this year. Our kids (age 5 and 7) loved being able to walk to the beach, climb rocks, sit in the rock garden, and pick fresh herbs from the garden. The house is lovely (and super clean which is a big deal for us b/c of allergies) and had everything we needed to cook healthy meals, work on our laptops during the days we needed to, and relax at night to play games and feel the ocean breeze. The house and landscaping are lovely and in such a picturesque part of Rockport. It is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we have experienced. Thank you for being such great hosts!

Owner's Response: We are once again so happy to receive such a wonderful review! We try to make the house as comfortable as possible, and to provide a clean, well-equipped vacation spot. The garden is a great place to hang out, either at the picnic table or on the rocks. The herbs and vegetables have been popular. Our guests enjoy the option of gardening if they enjoy it, and also harvesting fresh herbs, tomatoes, green beans, kale, chard, and squashes for their dinners. The family that wrote this review is coming back again this summer and we are thrilled---they were wonderful guests!

The perfect Rockport rental!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I are still glowing following our lovely stay here. The location is perfect - walking distance to town, the Headlands, and several beaches. This house is spic and span, extremely comfortable, beautifully furnishedand equipped with every amenity, Property owner, Elizabeth is very gracious and offered great information about Cape Ann and where to go to enjoy it to the fullest. We are hoping there will be a vacancy next year so that we can return for another stay!!

Owner's Response: It is such a pleasure to read a review like this one! We love hosting guests and making the house as clean and comfortable as possible. It's always a plus to be able to help direct guests toward beaches, restaurants, and activities here on Cape Ann. We hope these guests in particular return---they were so enthusiastic and fun to talk with. They left our home very clean---they even jump-started the laundry for us! Our first season has been fantastic in that all of our guests have been such nice people. We look forward to next summer and much more of the same!

A dream vacation

  • 5 of 5

This home is absolutely perfect. It is minutes from the beach and downtown shops. It was my first time in Rockport and Elizabeth thought of everything. Everything that you could think that you needed for a day at the beach or a stroll downtown was available at the house. I would highly recommend staying at this house. I can't wait to come back!

From First Lucky Renters

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a storybook New England experience, this is the house for you! Located in one of the most picturesque areas of Cape Ann, this home is just steps away from amazing, breathtaking views of the Rockport Harbor and beautiful walking/running coastal roads and trails. While parking is often impossible in the central part of Rockport, this house provides ample parking and is within a very easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beautiful architecture of this historic town.

The house itself is equipped and set up with everything you could want to feel at home. Beach chairs, towels, games, great decor and furniture, a full kitchen, a wonderful deck...and more...all add to the experience at home being just a wonderful as the external environment. The owners are fully responsive to your needs if you need anything. Yes, this is a great deal as well as a perfect location.
