About the property

4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 8

This home is on one of North Captiva Island's most desirable locations with your very own private fishing pier and sand beach. Shore Thing is located waterfront of a favorite fishing spot on North Captiva and you don't have to go any farther then out your back door to get there! The dock is all setup for great fishing with a fishing light and cutting station. The home is beautifully landscaped with lush coconut palms and a well manicured sand beach on the east side. This home was recently purchased and completely renovated from top to bottom with brand new everything!

When you drive up to Shore Thing, the entry foyer goes out to your own beach side patio with fridge, sink and a very nice shower/bathroom to freshen up after fishing and beaching it.

The second floor is an expansive open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows to accentuate the most amazing beachfront view. You actually feel like your outside but inside the air conditioned living space. On this floor is an awesome open kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances, filtered water and ice. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking any meal and very nice pots and pans. The living area has a 50” flat screen TV with DVD player and DVD library. The home is equipped throughout with satellite TV (including NFL package) and wireless internet service. Off the living room is a very nice open porch with lovely outdoor seating for amazing sunrises and outdoor dining. Off the living area are two nice size bedrooms nicely setup one with king bed and 32" TV and the other with twin beds.

On the third level is the master suite which looks out to the beach and has a 40” flat screen TV. A wrap around deck surrounds the master suite with sweeping views of Cayo Costa island including a screened in portion of deck and two outer decks great for sunbathing or reading a book while enjoying the remarkable view. Facing west is the 4th bedroom with twin beds. The deck off the 4th bedroom goes out to a deck with access to the look out observation deck for great sunsets with 360 degree view of entire island, sound, and gulf of Mexico.

The owners have thought everything through in detail and have spared no expense fully equipping the home with 12 beach towels, a Weber and gas grill, and chaise lounges out on your own private beach. You will truly enjoy Shore Thing, a brand new luxury 4 bedroom/3 bath home on North Captiva

Deplorable Service

  • 1 of 5

While the island itself is stunning and beautiful, the service of North Captiva Island Club is beyond deplorable. We rented a home for 4 days for an extremely high price point (>$XXXX per night) that had significant issues. The second floor shower did not work, would not even turn on. I understand that there may be unknown issues with homes which is why they have a 24 hour reporting procedure in place. When we went to report the major issues, our golfcart would not start to drive us over to the main office. I called and the gentleman who helped with our luggage was there within 45 minutes with a new golf cart. The other golf cart was not fixed for the remainder of our time there and was left in the front of the home. We submitted the paperwork for the nonworking shower within the required 24 hours. We did not hear from North Captiva Island Club for the remainder of our trip. I followed up 48 hours later in case the paperwork was misplaced, it was confirmed that it was in the computer but I was not given a plan of when it would be fixed. It was not fixed before we left.

Following the trip I contacted the Reservations manager to file a formal complaint regarding the lack of communication from the main office on the island. The reservations manager told me that I needed to speak with the owner, Brian. I left Brian no less than 5 voicemails with no returned call. I have also had one of the service representatives contact him directly and hand deliver my Folio and contact information TWICE with no returned call. As the owner of a company, any company, it is imperative that your communication is at par. Brian's intentional lack of communication with my husband and me is not only unacceptable but truly deplorable. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND NORTH CAPTIVA ISLAND CLUB to anyone. I would recommend going through another means to rent a facility on the island.

In addition, the WiFi did not work for the entire 4 days that we were there, there were missing lightbulbs throughout the property, the pool was dirty, the blender was broken, a drawer in the refrigerator was broken (and left in the refrigerator), the clock in the kitchen did not work, the list goes on and on with no resolution.

  • 4 of 5

Loved this home. Breath taking views. Loved the pool. Only thing I would change is the beds and rugs on the bedroom floors to wipe it feet so sand isn't in ur bed. I like soft bedding. Other than that the house is amazing decorated so cool. Very welcoming home. Thank you for sharing it. We enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it.
