About Kitty Harrington

I have lived in this community for 30 years I enjoy this area for its natural beauty and the hiking.

Kitty Harrington purchased this house in 2006

Why Kitty Harrington chose Prescott Valley

Budget minded person we do have home professionally cleaned between visits of our guests to keep costs down we have our guest clean up after themselves unless you want to pay to have someone clean. The Prescott area's got it all! Part of the charm of Prescott, Prescott Valley and Dewey is of Old West and the Worlds Oldest Rodeo Prescott, Arizona is home to some of the most amazing natural beauty to be found in Northern Arizona and is a hub of state history, tradition, art and culture.

No matter what your interests are, Prescott, Arizona offers something for everyone - museums, art galleries, six golf courses, lodging and accommodations, five lakes, boutiques, fine dining, theatre and 450 miles of hiking and recreational trails.

There is a fun filled calendar of events scheduled to delight, entertain, educate and amuse. Many of the events are free and the others are extremely reasonable making a trip to Prescott, Arizona affordable for everyone. Families will enjoy our friendly environment, restaurants and attractions.

Prescott area offers more than special events. Visitors will love browsing through boutiques and strolling through numerous galleries. There are four area theatres presenting an array of music, dance and drama.

Is golf your game? Golfers can test their skills on a different course every day on one of six public courses. That's right; the Prescott area has 108 holes of challenging and affordable golf within a short driving distance of where you would be staying

Good enough

  • 2 of 5

Good enough sums up our thoughts. The premises were "good enough". The location was "good enough". Amenities were "good enough". But we've stayed at Prescott/ PV properties which have been great so we can't recommend staying here since good enough isn't great.

I wholly expect the owner, Kitty, to reply to this less than complimentary review. She does so regularly on negative reviews of her other property (look it up.)

My concerns--

1- No autonomy. We have rented countless vacation homes and like the autonomy. With this property, you will arrive and need to meet the owner and then again check out with owner. Not a big deal but it was not what WE prefer.

2- No autonomy- She comes in and collects the garbage from the garage instead of paying for local garbage service.

3- I would not call it child friendly. It's fine for children but you can not visit the two parks in the development unless you take Kitty (who takes their "landlord" on park playdates?). It would be nice to have children's movies or puzzles in the home. Not necessary but it would be a nice touch.

4- Amenities- Three rolls of toilet paper sort of sums it up. More TP, some shampoo, liquid soaps instead of "hotel freebies" would be nice.

5- Expectation of cleaning- Kitty shows you were cleaning supplies are located and expects you to clean before you leave. Every rental we used hires a pro service when you vacate, & they'll do the deep clean. Instead Kitty has sent 14 pic of areas which needed more cleaning. Some I can't question (we didn't bleed anywhere in the home but there are three spots on the pillow cases and sheets where there are blood stains.. I didn't scour the house upon entry so it could be from someone previously.. who knows??). Among the 14 pics are pics of jam drops in fridge, crumbs on the floor, and baby powder on a shelf. My experience is that these are things that the pro cleaner would expect and take care of... The deposit is called damage deposit but it's really kept for cleaning. We did break a glass were not charged. I did transfer baby powder from a bed onto the couch; my mistake. My point-- please plan on thoroughly cleaning everything in the unit if you want your damage deposit back. Note- she does show you around but who checks for stains on bedding?!

And please note-- This property is 2.5 hrs to Grand Canyon.. not the approx 90 minutes. We knew this in renting the property... it didn't impact us but it might impact another renter.

We had a wonderful visit in this lovely home.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were visiting Prescott Valley for the first time and wanted to experience actually

living in a house if only for several days. Kitty's home exceeded our expectations, all of the comforts and freedom as if it were our own. Without a doubt, I would love to rent this house

again upon our return.

Beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this house. Nice, clean, centrally located and everything that is needed is in the house. Kitty was very nice and helpful and responded to every question we had very quickly. We can really recommend this house and landlord and we would choose this house again.

Spacious house, great location

  • 5 of 5

The house itself is spacious, handsome, and well maintained. The owners were flexible in meeting us and gave a quick but thorough rundown on what's what, and gave some nice recommendations. We especially liked Left-Ts steakhouse (steaksaz.com).

The location was relatively convenient to the Grand Canyon (~2 1/2) hours and the Sedona area (~1 hour) -- check out Red Rock scenic byway.

Prescott (next to Prescott Valley) was enjoyable -- we went to a Saturday festival on the courthouse lawn, plus there's old west history in Whiskey Row. Prescott Valley is ten minutes away and has everything you want -- go to Lonesome Valley Brewing if you're a beer drinker.
