About The Owner

I am a General Manager of an Auto Dealership and my wife works in the medical field. We have a daughter in her third year of college. We recently adopted a 3 year old boy. We love the water and live on a lake in South Carolina.

The Owner purchased this house in 1984

Why The Owner chose Fort Myers

This home was my original residence and i bought it new. When My job transferred me to South Carolina in 1988 I kept it as a seasonal rental for many years. I had rented it on a annual basis for the last 10 years. We decided to remodel the home and furnish it as a seasonal rental so we could also start using it ourselves!

What makes this house unique

We enjoy the florida weather! The activities are endless. Deep sea fishing there is spectacular as well as the beaches. We love to spend the early morning shelling at the Sanibel point beach. The everglades are a short drive away and we enjoy the airboat rides with a stop in Naples for shopping and dinner on the way back. Local restaurants are excellent and of course the seafood!

The pool is very well maintained and we always make new friends there to enjoy. We walk or run on the many sidewalks enjoying the golf or palm tree line streets. There is a bridge walkway to an island on the river in the resort that we enjoy going to for the long water views and wildlife it affords.

Lovely home in Fort Myers

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent the month of March 2015 in this lovely home. The house was everything as described on the VRBO site and then some. Upon entering the home you are immediately aware of its charming décor and cleanliness. The home is located in a gated community close to all amenities which Fort Myers has to offer. A quiet and welcoming neighbourhood. The owner was easy to deal with and provided all of the necessary information in a timely manner. We would definitely book this house again!

Great Patio Home for vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

This Patio Home was an excellent place to stay for two months and enjoy Florida's sunshine! We loved walking daily in this beautiful gated community. We felt very safe and the neighbors were very friendly. It was the perfect location because all stores, great restaurants and coffee shops, sight seeing adventures were all close by. Best of all, we loved being so close to Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel and Captiva Islands!

villa vacation

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the stay very much . The property is very well situated at the end of the street in a very quiet neighbourhood. The community pool is just steps away from the front door of the villa. We felt very secure during the duration of our stay in this gated community. The villa itself was very clean and sufficiently spacious for us all.

Patio Home in Gulf Harbor

This truly is a five star rental! The house was immaculate and had all of the amenities that had been listed. It is a lovely, comfortable place to stay.

We enjoyed the scenic walking paths and various places of interest, which were close by.

Ft. Myers Beach is just down the road and we spent lots of days there.

There are nice restaurants for all kinds of tastes; many within walking distance.

We are looking forward to our return in the Spring.

Great Home in a Wonderful Gated Community

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 2 months in the winter of 2012 in this great patio home in Gulf Harbour. The home is nicely furnished, well equipped with necessities and in a very nice gated community. This home is all you need for an extended vacation. It is a friendly neighborhood and the pool is only 3 houses away so easy access. We did a lot of biking in the area which was fun. It is only 10 minutes from Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel. It has good shopping very close by with a Publix, Supertarget and Walgreens within half a mile. It is also an easy drive to Twins or Red Sox ballparks in Fort Myers. We would recommend this home to anyone who wants a nice home in a great area. Good owners who are easily available if you have questions or need anything.

To all reading this, think three times before booking this property. The good reviews might have been written by this guy's friends. Here is our bitter story. The day before our long trip, we called the owner and told him we are going to be at his house at around 1, 2 pm in the afternoon. After a very long drive with an infant and a toddler, we got to the house. No one was there. So, we called the owner; no answer. We kept calling and calling with the same results sitting in the car in front of his house in a 90F heat. After two hours, we decided to go to a hotel. But, we tried one last thing: knocked at the doors of all neighbors to get some other contact info. Finally, an older lady told us that the owner left the house open. Once we got into the house, the AC was off and the heat was unbearable. The house cooled down closer to 4 am in the morning. We could not sleep and neither could our kids rest. It was really bad. It was so dusty that our feet turned black like we went into a mine or something. On the surface it appeared clean, but once we went to bed, we could feel how dust mites were having a blast. There were some weird bells and other crap on the walls we had to carefully take down because that stuff was hanging ready to fall and kill someone. The dishwasher wasn't working and the porch was all full of dirt. We had to move the furniture that was promised to be there. The next day, we tried to vacuum. That thing was full of pet hair. When we got into the shower, it was dirty. Even though the house is located in an upscale neighborhood, it is very far from being upscale. It is located close to the gate on a corner where traffic is just horrible. Cars zipping up and down late night and really early in the morning. The walls are made of cardboard. You can hear everything. They mow the grass almost every freaking day. At 6 am, all that maintenance crew is driving up that adjacent road on their noisy little gas powered golf carts . It was waking our kids up and us. It was really bad. The owner charges a cleaning fee. So, we had to leave in a hurry and did not have time to do a spotless clean. Well, the owner decided to pocket the cleaning money and accused us of stealing his cheap and rusty silverware. He also accused us of things we did not do just so he can pocket some of our deposit money. We apologized for few spots our kids put on here and there and explained that we paid him for a professional clean up. He just took half of our deposit.

Owner's Response: WOW, I am surprised you wanted this made public! I have rented this home for 25 years and have never before kept a dime of anyone's deposit! The reviews I have are from all over the country. I do not appreciate the lies told here, but it does not surprise me considering how my home was treated during their stay. I received no complaints from them while they were there. This is an upscale development and it has rules on the content that must be in a home for rental. We had dishes missing, dishes broken, every pot and pan was missing from the home except for one pan lid. Every kitchen hand towel was missing but one. Sheets were stained and ruined, Comforters were stained and ruined, upholstery stained, decorative pillows ruined. FURNITURE BROKEN, and wall paint was scraped up. We spent twice what I charged to the deposit on restoring the home. Since this home was completely remodeled with high end items 18 months ago, any thought of rusty silverware is a joke. We use the home every year in the summer and equip it for our own comfort. This is a spiteful response to me for keeping some of the damage deposit. If anyone doubts this response please contact me for pictures of how they left this home. You will agree I was kind.
