Spacious cedar-shingled single-family home in The Pines. Five bedrooms including two master bedroom suites and 4.5 baths. Custom upgrades throughout this two-story family home include a chef-quality kitchen, and marble and tiled baths. Bonus rooms, walk-in closets, porches, decks and walkways provide exceptional space for everyone in this large home with convenient in-town location. Perfect for vacationers looking to enjoy a wonderful private home, the ocean, the beach, and all that a vibrant Rehoboth has to offer.

This circa 1900 gem has been professional restored, decorated and well-maintained by family owners and has never been available for rental until now. Steeped in history, the home has served at times as a Methodist church, fudge factory and bookstore. Recently updated with new mechanical systems, windows, doors, kitchen, baths and flooring, this home has all the modern amenities sought-by today’s sophisticated vacationers.

Enter through a traditional wooden gate with fencing, a sunny front garden and deck with seating. French doors open into an expansive living area with lots of windows, high ceilings and a working fireplace. Painted beadboard base paneling transitions the old home with the new wood floors, walls and lighting. A sunny and cozy den off the living and dining rooms provides a wonderful place for families to gather and relax and watch the preparations in the kitchen beyond. The dining room seat 10-12 and has a dramatic ceiling, lighting fixture, and a working fireplace with a custom tiled front-it is perfect for dinner parties with family and friends.

The kitchen was recently professional remodeled and features a Subzero side-by-side refrigerator and built-in wine-cooler, Wolfe six burner gas stove, stainless steel appliances and stone countertops. The kitchen is well-laid out, great for family cooking and entertaining, and includes ample cabinets, upgraded cooking and dining ware and an eat-at counter over-looking the dining room and den beyond.

A convenient hall powder room completes the features of the main first floor living area.

A short hallway leads to the private first floor master bedroom with tall ceilings, a large bath with double sinks, tile and marble flooring and a glass shower with custom tile work. There is a seating area, HDTV, four poster king size bed, large walk-in closet, upgraded carpeting, and doorways leading to the rear decks and adjoining outdoor shower.

A stairway from the living room takes you up to a large bright family style den with cathedral ceiling, HDTV and entertainment center. A hallway leads to three bedrooms and two full baths. The bedrooms have a total of two queen beds and two twin beds. Bedrooms are bright with ceiling fans and quality carpeting. The second floor of the home provides ample room and quiet space for a large family to spread out.

The second master bedroom suite is off the den and features a king size bed, seating area, washer/dryer in a walk-in closet, and two dramatic tall French doors which lead out to a rear private porch with seating. The adjoining bath has a dramatic peaked ceiling, stunning chandelier, windows for light and privacy, a spa tub, glass shower, and marble and tile surfaces.

Back on the first level, you will discover doorways leading to outside wraparound walkways, decks with lighting, two additional outside seating areas, and a very large outdoor shower room with a stripped canvas awning for privacy, upgraded shower fixtures and even a bathroom sink.

The home sleeps ten (10) and includes three parking passes for convienent parking in front of the house, wifi and expanded cable and a few bicycles. Linen service available for an additional fee and the house is pet friendly.

Not Rehoboth's Best Rental

We have rented vacation homes in Rehoboth for about 15 years. Though the house was beautifully decorated, there were some disadvantages. For one, the owner/property manager was not quick to respond. Up to a week before our rental time, we had not gotten any notice that our deposit was received or any information about getting the keys to the house or the layout of the bedrooms, and other information. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find there was only one house key for 6 adults to share. There is no off street parking so finding parking if you move your car may prove difficult during the busy summer season. The cleanliness of the house was only fair. If you walked around in bare feet you would find your feet completely black on the bottoms. Though pets were not permitted, there were dog toys and dog beds in one of the bedrooms. The house smelled faintly of dogs. Midweek we found that we were sharing the house with mice. There were daily deposits of mice droppings in the upstairs master bath. The property manager was notified and an exterminator set up bait traps 24 hours after being notified. We were less than thrilled to clean up mouse droppings. The property manager brought over 2 bottles of wine--barely a consolation prize. On Thursday night, the air conditioning upstairs just stopped working. It was 81 degrees upstairs during the night. By that time, we were ready to pack the hell up and go home! We would not rent this house again.

Owner's Response: Dear Guests….and those considering renting with us: We sincerely apologize that this experience did not meet expectations. Guests have wonderful things to say, on average 4.7 stars out of 5.0 potential stars. During your reservation and check-in process, we did not see many inquiries from you and apologize if anything was over-looked. We send out check-in details 2-3 days in advance and provide a phone number for contact. Bedroom and house details are on the VRBO site but we will review the listing to see if we can improve on this. We always tell guests to call the phone number if something needs attention, whether it is the need for additional keys or parking assistance. This home is located in a very desirable residential neighborhood, right in town, and within walking distance to Rehoboth Avenue, shops, restaurants and entertainment. These days, everyone wants to be “in-town” and we think this is the perfect location. After your stay, we discovered the home across the street was on the Annual Cottage House Tour that week, a charity event that draws lots of village-centric people to the event who want to help keep Rehoboth the charming community we think it is through charity donation. This event and the Farmer’s Market at the playground a block away on Tuesday (12 PM to 4 PM), may have led to a slight parking challenge during the day, but had you called us, we could have helped with parking advice, usually within 75-100 feet of the home in peak season, and this is in addition to the usually available three on-street spots in front of the house. The home is listed as “pet friendly” on the VRBO site. We are sorry that you missed this. And all floor surfaces are cleaned and wet-mopped between each rental. Again, had we known that you were experiencing a problem, we would have address it right away. And should there have been a problem with the AC, a call may have helped us resolve any problem. The two-zoned system is new and powerful. As for the unregistered guest – the mouse. This century-old expansive home in a semi-wooden neighborhood, is very charming. We are not sure how the mouse got to the upstairs bathroom and after three inspections there is no evidence of an existing problem. We would have suggested using one of the other four bathrooms until “our friend” was moved along. Regardless, we sincerely apologize for everything but happy to know that you enjoy Rehoboth and will continue to visit the town in the future.

Perfect House!

We had a group of women together for a ladies weekend and we booked this house because it looked to be close to restaurants, etc and had a good number of bedrooms. The house was better than we expected. It had a large living room and a separate seating area. We spent time around the large dining table. While we did not cook, the kitchen had plenty of room with a large fridge and wine fridge. The bedrooms were comfortable.

We were able to walk to shops and restaurants and to the beach although it is a bit of a walk with a beach chair.

We would recommend the house to anyone. It was clean, comfortable and the owner and manager were a pleasure to work with.

Lovely home

Girl's weekend was made special by staying in this lovely home. Plenty of room for everyone, and lots of bathrooms. Kitchen was super and had just about everything needed to cook up some great meals. Close to shopping and the beach. We all very much enjoyed our stay!

Perfect stay for the Rehoboth Marathon!

Wow. This cottage provided the perfect home base for a group of 6 of us running the marathon. It's proximity to the main drag is fantastic, the bedrooms are all well-appointed, the kitchen (that RANGE) is awesome for cooking up large meals. We loved the fireplaces which helped keep us cozy given we visited in the off-season. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about this rental. We truly enjoyed a wonderful stay. The owner provided a list of hot spots to check out as well. His pizza recommendation was spot on (but Grotto was good too)! I would suggest adding Lewes as a "worth a quick visit" and Nectar (ohhhh my that grilled cheese and tomato bisque!!!). We will likely be back for a future race, this was simply a perfect weekend getaway in a perfect rental. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay

This is a lovely home - much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Beautifully decorated, new furniture, spacious common areas and bedrooms. It's a little far from the beach, but just around the corner from the main drag. The management company was terrific and very accommodating. We will definitely return!

We loved this place!

This review is long overdue. We stayed here almost one year ago - I'm not sure of the exact date. 5 of us (and 2 small dogs) had a girls' weekend here that we will never forget! The house is so beautiful, and ultra-clean - we tried to leave it in the same condition. Very walkable location - close to the Avenue, and approximately 4 (short) blocks to the beach. Hopefully, we'll be able to stay here again. Many thanks to the owners and the agent, who were very accommodating!
