About NATALIA and WALTER

Natalia worked as a flight attendant (cabin crew) for Alitalia Airlines from 1970 to 1995. Prior to her work at Alitalia, she lived for more than a year in London, studying and working in a tourist agency. She speaks excellent English, understands and speaks Spanish and can 'get by' in French. Her husband Walter worked as well as pilot in Alitalia for more than 30 years. She attended courses of the History of Roman Art, which allowed her to get to know the city very well and she will share her knowledge with you at your arrival. At check in she will personally welcome you and spend time to guide you in programming your vacation, sharing with you all her knowledge. You will have the feeling to meet a personal guide, that help you at 360' in discovering this big city so full of history, and save so much time that normally takes to a person that is in town for the first time

The twenty-five years she spent traveling from one country to another gave her an opportunity to learn about the ways and customs of many countries and enhanced her natural predisposition for interpersonal relationships; she always succeeds in establishing an immediate, friendly relationship with her guests.

Since 1995, she has attended the 'Academy of Decorative Arts', discovering a hidden talent for painting and decorating that she never imagined before. She now puts this talent to use personally decorating her apartments. In fact, the tiles in the kitchens and the tabletops in the dining areas of her apartments are all hand painted as well as the tromp l'oeil paintings, which gives each apartment a unique touch.

In the last years she has attended courses of the History of Roman Art, which allowed her to get to know the city on a new level. She provides her guests with useful information on Rome and its monuments and archaeological sites.

Perfect stay!

  • 5 of 5

A real wonderfull place to stay in Rome!

The property is just like the pictures and discription on the site. It is a nice and clean apartment and has got everything you need. The location is good, really close to the Colloseum, close to public transportation and in a nice street. There are nice restaurants and a supermarket in the neighbourhood. We used the airport transfer and that was very comfortable. Walter and Natalia are really warm and helpfull people. They are really friendly when you arrive and the are also very understanding (when we had flightchanges). You can be sure to count on them when you need help. Make sure you visit the local market in the weekend and make reservations for the tour in Domus Romanus!

Great location, lovely apartment and hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

Every good thing I read about this property was true. There were 3 adults on this visit and we had Walter arrange our airport transfer and as promised, our adorable driver was waiting for us with a sign when we walked outside. He whisked us to the apartment where Walter was waiting to help give us some tips on things we needed to check out and recommendations on restaurants, etc.. It was extremely helpful--we would have missed out on some amazing sites and experiences without his advice!

The apartment is in a perfect location, minutes walk to shops, restaurants, Metro stops and historic sites. We felt that it was plenty large for the 3 of us and having 2 bathrooms, even though one was small, was grand! The beds were very comfortable and it was great having the kitchen area for snacks in the morning and a glass of wine at night.

Thanks so much for making it a memorable week for 3 Georgia women! Hope to be back some day in the near future!

A Cozy Retreat near Famous Ruins

  • 5 of 5

Natalie and Walter's apartment is a wonderful two room apartment in an ideal location which is easy walking distance to the Coliseum and the Forum. At the other end of the street is the Basilica San Giovanni in Laterano. Both sites are in easy walking distance. This nicely appointed apartment on the second with two bedrooms, comfortable bed, two bathrooms with shower, though the one is a bit small, was very comfortable for my wife and I and a third traveling companion. It also comes with a washing machine and dishwasher. There's a nice sitting area and kitchen and the host were very gracious to ensure that there was good Wi-Fi as well as a cell phone that would enable us to reach them at any time if we had a problem. There is a bus stop right near the apartment's Street entrance and two wonderful places to eat within the block, Ristorante Isidor and Gelateria San Clemente, where we got our daily fix of gelato. You can also visit the Basilica St. Clementone, which is a must see and next to Isador. You will also find that your hosts will give you great detail on places to see, how to access transportation and even make a call on a reservation if you need. There are little stores close by to get drinks and items for meals. The Colosseum Metro stop is also close by. The apartment looks down on the street, but with the windows closed it is very quiet. However, the street is busy for cars, but is very safe for walking. We highly recommend that you consider this cozy retreat near iconic ruins when you next visit Rome.

Felt like family

  • 5 of 5

Natalia and Walter made the apartment a home away from home. We enjoyed the coffee making lesson and all the maps! The location was excellent for walking to the colosseum, forum and Capitolino museum. They explained how to get around the city and gave us absolutely wonderful dining recommendations. The Wifi was great to have available and they even gave us a cell phone if we needed to contact them at any time. The apartment was quiet, very safe and a welcome retreat after a full day of walking. Not only did they help us with local connections, but they arranged our rides to and from the city, which were very reasonablely priced. I highly recommend the apartment and thank Walter and Natalia for their warm hospitality!

Thank you

  • 4 of 5

You two are wonderful peoples, thanks for all your tips and personal attention! I will say that we were disappointed with the size of the apartment. Looking at the pictures it looked much bigger. We told everyone that you must be masters of wide angle photography. Based on the size of the 2nd bath, we all had to use the bigger one for at least showers. I thought I saw that you advertised it to be 55 square meters. I think that is impossible. Other than that we were able to make everything work well despite the size, It is very clean, well stocked, and I'm sure, very European. We didn't spend that much time there so I don't wish to exaggerate the effect of the size. I would caution other American visitors, who are 4 adults, to be aware of the limitations. But for a family it would likely work very well. I also have no good idea of how it compares. It occurred to us that in a big city like Rome it may be pretty standard. I am a business owner and greatly appreciate customer feedback. That is why I may be a little blunt. Again, we have so many great memories of your country and of you, we mainly want to say "thank you".

Roma-rific!

  • 5 of 5

We loved 'our' little apartment and neighborhood (and daily gelato!) for a week. Returning to my mother-in-law's roots, we started in Rome. The location and accommodations were perfect for the three of us. Thank you, Natalia and Walter, for all the little touches and recommendations that made our stay terrific!
