Great Location!

All in all a great stay (except for Hurricane Irma)! I would stay here again, but just would like to suggest a couple things to the owners...

First thing is the mirror wall, yikes! Second suggestion would be to supply some beach chairs and floating noodles. The condo is clean and we loved the "tiki bar" (yes there was a little sand on the floors, but its the beach ya'll)!

July 2017 stay

Just returned from our first visit to Villa Maderia 607. We have vacationed every year from Sunset Beach all the way north to Indian Shores for the last 10 years and have stayed in different condos almost each year. This trip was as good as previous ones. I don't have any complaints, just observations for future tenants and/or owners from a renter's prospective. I feel it needs some more cookware. Especially for a group of 5 that were trying to cook dinner/supper each night. A few more pots and skillets for cooking would be all that is needed. I did find out that you could not use the stove, microwave, or outlet on counter at same time without tripping the breaker--no big deal once we figured out that was what the problem was( Lol I have the same issue in my house with a few outlets). I do strongly suggest some washable rugs leading down hallway, in the kitchen, in each bedroom, and in the bathrooms. Those may cut down on the sand, per a suggestion from my mom who is a house cleaner herself. I know due to the location by the beach its very difficult to keep sand amounts down, so this may help. We did sweep every other day. The only aggravating part about all the sand was when we were getting into bed each night. We had to wipe our feet off with towels/rags prior to getting in to the bed. That's why I would suggest a rug by the beds. We did get to see dolphins every day off the balcony or while in the water. The pool was nice according to my kids(I don't get into pools while at the beach). Comfortable beds, great working AC for relaxing after a hot day at the beach, plenty of comfortable seating in the living room, and great views off the balcony! Also thanks for such an easy reservation process!

Villa Maderia

We really enjoyed our visit to Madeira Beach, only problems were that we had NO TV on Sunday when we got there because there was no TV remote and TOM was not helpful but a young guy from itrip came on Monday afternoon and got that taken care of. Rest of the week was uneventful until Friday when the air conditioner quit, once again a young guy came out about 10:30 and go it going again. My only other complaint was the fact that the floors were filthy, my house shoes were black from walking on the floors and I sweep several times we were there to get up sands that we were bringing in.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback. Sorry about any trouble with the TV, but glad that it was all resolved for you. The floors are fully scrubbed and mopped each time, but the constant breeze off the beach combined with the nearby busy road makes it hard to keep the floors dust free. Thank you!

Won't be staying again at this condo

  • 2 of 5

Let me preface by saying we have rented a second floor condo from the same building for a few years that was always immaculate. This condo itself was dirty. I bought all new white socks for the trip and even a minute walking on the floor caused them to turn jet black. The towels we received for the bathrooms had hairs on them of unknown origin as well. The patio ceiling fan is burnt... doesn't work. Many of the amenities are old, and we had no legitimate cable to watch; they spliced the cable internet into the TV so you get basic channels but nothing beyond that; no guide or anything. They do have WiFi which worked well. The dryer is broken; it took 2-3 days to dry anything we washed if we first didn't resort to just air-drying them. No fault of the owners, but of the years we stayed in Villa Madeira this was by FAR the loudest we have experienced it. Everything else was apparently uncleaned even though they charge EVERYONE a cleaning fee. You can't go wrong with the view from the balcony, and 90% of the time we were not in the condo itself but on the balcony enjoying the beach / sunset, but when we were we expected clean space and comfortable vacation living. You can see the sunrise from the balcony, and sunset from the deck which are huge pluses. The TV is spliced into the cable, so you get bare minimum, non digital television and no 'guide remote' to navigate channels. Very minimum amenities; no soap, shampoo, etc as we have experienced the other years prior in a separate condo. Things need a definite upgrade, age-wise, in certain regards. Overall, not nearly as pleased as our previous second floor condo we have stayed at for years. We will not be coming back to this space and hope I have clarified what we liked / disliked about it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback. We will make sure we check out the TV connections and replace the fan on the balcony. The floors are something that we do struggle with constantly. The steady breeze along with the close proximity to the main road keep a fine layer of dust on the floors of this and every building in the area. We'll go over everything with the cleaning crew. We are glad you enjoyed the wonderful views!

Villa Madeira #607 Review

  • 4 of 5

We loved the condo the only complaint I have is that one of the screens on the back lanai was missing. Unfortunately that was one of the main reasons I wanted the condo. I tried sitting outside in the evening but got bit by mosquitoes. Otherwise, it was a really nice condo. We ate at several area restaurants locally. We tried Gators, Scully's and DrRosa's Pizzeria both in John's Pass. We had the best breakfast at a cute little cafe (Can't remember the name)down towards Rettington Beach, it is painted really cute too and it was dog friendly (outside dining). Only serves breakfast and lunch, but the food was REALLY good. We ate at the Pub down towards Indian Shores that was really good and had a wonderful dinner at Aqui someting. The food was excellent.

Owner's Response: We're sorry for any discomfort due to the screen. The screens were all just renewed and the missing section has been replaced. As this unit is on the 6th floor, any type of mosquito activity would be unlikely, but nevertheless, it should be taken care of. Thank you!
