This was the fifth time we stayed at Villa Leja and we enjoyed our time!! We spent every day at a different beach and came home to the beautiful pool and relaxed. The views of Buck Island in the back yard are so welcoming in the morning as you plan your day. The house is beautiful and the grounds are private. We stopped at a few new places this year, Ziggy's Gas Station being one of them. We had a great time. The east end is so peaceful you'll want to keep coming back. The house is close to quite a few very nice restaurants and the beach at the east end, Cramer Park, is perfect for a quiet day. Town is close enough to drive to and pick up lunch for your day at the beach. We will continue to come back and encourage others for a wonderful vacation.
Thank you for a great vacation!!
This was a wonderful home. We had a great time, and the house was perfect. We especially loved the guest house. Everything was perfect. High end home at a reasonable rate. Thank you. Also, the property manager is excellent!
We loved our time at Villa Leja! My husband and I spent a week there for our honeymoon. The house was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful Buck Island views. We enjoyed having a private pool as opposed to fighting people for pool chairs at a hotel pool. The bedroom and large bathroom were perfect. We didn't cook much but when we did, the kitchen is top of the line!
We thoroughly enjoyed the East End of the island and wouldn't stay anywhere else! There are so many amazing dining options a very short car ride away. The Blue Water Terrace is a stones throw away and has anything you want to eat plus a small convenience store and the best desserts! We also very much enjoyed the Cultured Pelican, Duggan's, and The Galleon. We truly never had a bad meal on the island.
We didn't rent the guest house but I assume that would be a perfect addition for another couple or older children for a vacation.
You will not regret your choice to stay at Villa Leja!
I can’t remember the last time I was as comfortable staying at a property as I was at Villa Leja. From the high-end gourmet kitchen, to the uninterrupted view of Buck Island (seriously… it’s a post card view, especially when the sail boats pass by) our visit to St. Croix was nothing short of spectacular due in large part to this place. Setting aside the view for a minute you also have to know that the way the property is laid out couldn’t be better. The layout is as follows: Main house is the one close to the water and is nothing short of stunning. As I indicated before it has a gourmet kitchen, it’s very open and spacious and lends itself to having good time by all. Also on the property is a guest house which is quite convenient if you have another couple with you or, like me, you have a daughter who came along and is at the age where she would want her own room if we were at at hotel. This guest house is also quite comfortable and spacious. Between these two homes you have a fantastic swimming pool. Yes, I know the ocean is just a stone’s throw out the front door but there were some moments where the pool was just too convenient and inviting to pass up.
So, that’s the physical property. The other item that warrants my comment here is how prepared I was when I got to St. Croix. During my stay we went snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, ate at wonderful restaurants and so many other things. Had it not been for the property owners I don’t believe I would have been nearly as prepared. Lorraine was nothing short of wonderful to deal with. She sent me information on things to do on arrival and was responsive to questions.
Let me close the way I began: Paradise!
The home we rented was beautiful, right on the beach. It was perfect, privacy for grandma and grandpa and a separate guest house for the young ones. We were able to snorkel right out the back door. We did a Snorkel/Sail with Captain Heinz on the Teroro II. What an amazing time we had. Also horseback riding at Paul & Jill's stables, through the Rainforest and on the Beach. Hiking at Point Udall. Sunny and 80 degrees everyday. What a perfect vacation!
We had the most amazing 8 day vacation ever! We couldn't have picked a better house or island to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary! The house is spacious, beautiful & has everything you could need. The views from the house are stunning & Lorraine was absolutely a pleasure to work with. We visited St. Croix 3 years ago on a cruise & we said then we would come back to St. Croix. Of all the islands we have been to there was just something special about St. Croix that we fell in love with. We really enjoyed meeting the locals & learning all about the beautiful island of St. Croix. Cheeseburgers just down the road from the house is great & Brenda there was fabulous! We went there several times & Brenda had to love on us our last night there. We almost cried when we had to tell her goodbye!!:-( Ziggy's just down from the house was nice. Good little bar called Libation Station, good/quick food & nice little convenience store but beware they have a 10.00 min. for cards and we were rudely told that on our 5th trip there and about 200.00 in total purchases later! Spratnets Bar on the West End, nice little beachside dive where Calvin the owner & Rachel the bartender are just fantastic!! Some points of interest we recommend: Point Udall (especially to see the sunrise), Off-roading on the West End (4 wheel drive needed), Cruzan Rum & Captain Morgan Distillery Tours, Rainbow Beach & Rhythms there (best lime n de coconut ever), Ft. Christian Brew Pub & Angry Nate’s on the Boardwalk in Christiansted, Jazz in the Park on the last Friday of the month, definitely find one of the many dirt paths on the side of the road and take it down to your own private beach (all of the beaches in St. Croix are public access), Hike to the Tide Pools (however let me give a disclaimer on this one the hike is about 6 miles round trip and very strenuous through the thickness of the rainforest. We are avid hikers & hike the Smoky Mountains a lot & we both agree it was the most difficult & strenuous hike we have ever done!!), Cramer’s Park just down the road from the house for a nice beachside picnic & to watch the sunset. Of course there were a ton of things we didn’t get to see or do like Buck Island, Sandy Pointe or the Beer Drinking Pigs so we will definitely be back to Villa Leja! We were so sad to leave. I definitely left a piece of my heart on St. Croix & Lorraine truly has a piece of paradise in Villa Leja! One day we hope to be lucky enough to own a piece of paradise on St. Croix!
