Come relax in the privacy of what we hope you’ll feel is like your home away from home that we have outfitted with many extras for the whole family to enhance your stay. A well-stocked high-end kitchen including wine refrigerator, games, beach towels and toys, coolers, snorkel gear, fast wifi, flat screen TVs with AppleTV with Netflix and more in every room are just some of the things we provide. In addition, you will have access to private concierge services to facilitate every aspect of your trip, from purchasing groceries to stock the refrigerator before your arrival, to restaurant recommendations and reservations, and helping arrange activities throughout the island. Our local property manager is available to you 24x7 for any needs that might arise.

Staying in this house entitles you to full use of the amenities of the Mauna Kea resort for an additional fee ($125/day which covers all guests, details below). Championship golf, tennis, beaches, heated pools, restaurants, spas, fitness centers, shops, business center and valet parking are just some of the options available to you at both the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel with full signing privileges. The beautiful white sand beaches are consistently rated the best beaches in all of the Hawaiian islands. Swim, snorkel, boogie board, paddle surf, play in the sand, or relax on the hotel-provided lounge chairs under beach umbrellas. Or just hang out by the wonderful heated pool. Scuba diving, whale watching, shopping and farmer’s markets are all just minutes away.

Located in the Uplands at Mauna Kea, the house is designer-decorated inside and landscaped by a renowned Hawaiian landscape architect. The beautiful furnishings and appointments set this never before rented house apart from others like it. Inside the house, the spacious master bedroom suite opens out onto the lanai and features a king-sized bed, an abundance of closets, and a spacious en suite bathroom with a deep soaking tub and a large walk-in shower. The second bedroom features a queen-sized bed with an en suite bathroom. The third bedroom also has a queen-sized bed with a nearby bathroom with shower. The fourth bedroom is a large ohana suite (“ohana” is Hawaiian for “family”) with a private entrance, and features two queen sized beds, en suite bathroom with shower and a kitchenette.

The communal areas are just as inviting. The kitchen is equipped with Viking appliances including a gas range, and granite countertops. It is a joy to cook in with a huge selection of pantry items, cookware, and dishes. Relax in the oversized couches and chairs in the living room or family room. Gather in the family room to watch HDTV with Apple TV enjoying movies, live sports and news, music, and even content from your iOS devices or Mac. Sit the whole group down at a beautiful dining table that seats up to 10 people or have casual meals indoors or out at smaller glass tables. With a central stereo system, you can enjoy your music throughout the house.

Outside, enjoy the incredible views of the ocean, Maui, and breathtaking sunsets over the foreground golf course from the spacious lanai. Swim and frolic in the 40’ saline infinity pool, which is heated at no additional cost. Relax in the couches, chairs and lounge chairs with afternoon smoothies and cocktails or in the spa for a post-swim or end-of-day soak. Enjoy your meals at the additional outdoor dining table so you can watch the views, or your kids.

If you are ready to leave the resort, great restaurants and shopping in Mauna Lani, Waikoloa, and Waimea are close by. Talk to us and we can fill you in on our experience with the wonderful mix of luxury stores, department stores, boutiques, art galleries, dining, farmers markets and even dive shops!

About Diana Nemirovsky

We are a family – two grown daughters and our Mom, an interior designer. We have been going to Hawaii for over 20 years, and hope to retire here some day.

Diana Nemirovsky purchased this house in 2015

Why Diana Nemirovsky chose Kamuela

After many visits to the Maui, we came to the Big Island and the Mauna Kea resort and have never looked back. It has been our dream to own a home here, and now we do and want to share it with you. When recently the opportunity came up to buy a vacation home, it didn’t take much convincing to choose this house in Moani Heights just a mile from the beach. We love how the outside is welcomed in through so many windows and glass doors offering views of the beach, ocean, and golf course. Mom is an interior designer and on seeing this house immediately fell in love. The quality and care of the finishes, decorating and landscaping set it apart from all others we looked at.

Wonderful Big Island vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for a week during February and could not have been happier with our stay. The house is updated, spacious, and convenient, and the outdoor area is just absolutely fabulous for relaxing, swimming, or hanging out together. The property manager, Kathleen, is also really helpful (definitely make use of the grocery service!) and responsive if you need anything, since she's local. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Gorgeous, sweeping views - A dream rental!

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the most amazing homes our family has ever rented!

There are many things to love about this house but the best thing is the backyard with sweeping, unobstructed, 180 degree views of the mountains, golf course and ocean. Seriously incredible! You can't see or hear any neighbors from the backyard. It's like your own private oasis. The heated, infinity pool is gorgeous and has steps and benches in just the right places. Our daughter is allergic to chlorine so the salt system was perfect for us! There are plenty of floating mattresses and pool toys for the kids. The hot tub heats up quickly and is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. There is ample, comfortable, high end, outdoor furniture and a huge Weber grill. They have a sound system which easily hooked up to our phones for outdoor tunes. The landscaping is beautiful. We honestly couldn't think of anything to make it better. It's a dream rental!

The house itself is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. It's well laid out to maximize views from the kitchen, living, and master bedroom. You even have views from the master shower. The gated, upscale neighborhood is very quiet and safe. There are only a handful of houses behind the gate- all on large lots.

The manager, Kathleen, was responsive, professional, and so accommodating. Thank you Kathleen!

The owners have a lot of beach gear (snorkel, boogie boards, beach towels etc) for guests to use which was helpful and saved us time/money because we didn't have to rent anything. We opted not to pay extra for Mauna Kea Resort access/charging privileges and were glad we didn't because it didn't make financial sense for our needs. We got along just fine without it.

Our favorites on the island: Hapuna Beach for body surfing, Mauna Kea and Fairmont Orchid for snorkeling, Mauna Kea Luau (we did show only-no dinner), Waikoloa Island Gormet Marketplace (ABC store)for souvenirs, Foodland (Mauna Lani) for groceries, Volcano National Park, Hapuna Prince and Mauna Kea Golf Courses.

Our whole family gives this house our highest recommendation, and we can't wait to go back!

Beautiful property - fully equipped with everything you want/need.

  • 5 of 5

High end kitchen if you want to cook - lovely linens and towels. Pool is kept warm for daily swimming plus can have access to Mauna Kea or Hapuna Prince facilities. Eight of us lived the “good Hawaiian life” for a week - would definitely return!

I really hate to share this review of this property...cause it means that I will have a challenge booking in the future. It's a great house for large family groups. Peaceful. The management person is very attentive.

Wonderful Property

  • 5 of 5

The splendor of the setting and view from this home is so spectacular as to be virtually unreal. Though photos of rental properties are often enhanced, the pretty photos depicting this home’s layout cannot begin to do it justice. Each time of the day the beauty is unique and serene. The sun dances down the Kohala Coastline in the morning, highlighting the dramatic cloud formations that often boil up. The constant shade on the covered patio makes reading at midday a pleasure, and the evening sunsets bloom and fade, reflecting a beautiful orange glow on the palms, and in the pool and hot tub. We appreciated the multiple seating areas and realized quickly that each offers a different perspective of the uninterrupted view. We delighted in discovering a lovely paved path tucked in high grass behind the infinity edge pool as a way to access the golf course pathways for a quiet walk in the evening.

This home’s features are luxurious and ample-en suite bathrooms, lovely furnishings and bedding, Apple TVs, high end appliances and accoutrements, and beach and pool gear. The support of an local manager was helpful when we had questions. We loved the Ohana for the privacy it offered to a family friend. We purchased and appreciated the Resident Pass for Mauna Kea charging privileges and parking. The home is conveniently located 5 minutes from the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince resort complexes and golf courses, each resort complex providing exercise facilities and beautiful sand beach access. The Mauna Lani area is a 7-10 minute drive and provides access to many restaurants, FoodLand Grocery and additional beach and walkway access and shopping.

We made sunset time on the patio our priority during our stay, often opting to skip other evening options. Frankly, it was hard to leave at any time, as the venue offered such sanctuary. We left our temporary home at Moani Heights reluctantly, but knew that we might someday return for another opportunity to watch the long Hawaiian day unfold in the little patch of paradise we had discovered.

Tropical Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our party of six adults spent a week at this lovely home during mid-October. The home and grounds were just as pictured; we never got tired of the lovely view. The house was tastefully furnished yet very comfortable. There were plenty of spices, cookware, dishware, linens and toiletries. The mid-week housekeeping service was a nice touch.

The property manager (Kathleen) offered to make a pre-arrival Costco run for us so we could relax upon arrival. We had great meals at Merriman's, Tommy Bahama's and Pesto Cafe.

We would definitely consider renting this house again next time we are on the Big Island!
