Located in the tiny town of Rainbow, this secluded one bedroom apartment with full bath and kitchen is surrounded by beautiful coral and pine trees. A 15 minute drive will take you to Old Town Temecula for shopping and dining, world famous local wineries or the Pala and Pechanga casinos. If you're in a leisurely mood you can swim in the pool, soak in the jacuzzi, or sip wine in front of the chimenea while listening to the waterfall. There is even an on site treatment room where you can relax while you receive professional beauty treatments from a licensed aesthetician!
Greg and I (Michelle) have both lived in Southern California since grade school. We attended the same high school but didn't meet until our late 20's. We married in 1990 and have 4 sons, 2 married and 3 grandchildren. We have 3 friendly, very well behaved dogs which you may see walking the 2 1/2 acre property with Greg in the mornings and evenings. We also have a very aloof cat and 2 turtles. We are very friendly people but not intrusive. I love to bake which will be evident when you try the cookies I leave in your room!
Michelle LaLonde purchased this apartment in 1995
When we began looking for a home to raise our children in, we wanted an area away from housing tracts and shopping centers, but not too remote. We have both lived in San Diego County since grade school and had never heard of Rainbow before! When we first looked at the house it was definitely in need of love and attention, something we have a lot of to give! Over the last 20 years, we (mostly Greg) have done a lot of work fixing up the house and property until it has become what it is now, our oasis of peace in a very hectic world.
Rainbow, an unincorporated town in San Diego County, is secluded enough to enjoy tranquil days of peace and quiet, and central enough to access almost as many adventures as you'd like to have. Old Town Temecula with its numerous antique and unique shops, the famous Temecula wineries, and both the Pala and Pachanga Casinos are between 15 and 20 minutes away. The beach, San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Parks are roughly an hours drive. You can play all day and relax in the evening.
My husband and I had a wedding to attend in one of the wineries in Temecula. We spent so much time trying to find a good hotel until we decided to give vacation rentals a chance.
COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!
Michelle's husband showed us around while she was with a client. We talked forever and he gave us some awesome recommendations.
Location seems far from the wineries and old town Temecula but it is just 15 minutes away. Uber cost us $10. Worth it!! Their land is absolutely beautiful, quiet and you can actually see the stars at night! A little piece of heaven 40 minutes away from San Diego.
Michelle cooked us breakfast every morning! Trust me: you will enjoy every bite of it! We regretted ourselves for cancelling one of the breakfasts because every morning was a surprise. Nothing better than starting your day with good food and a cup of coffee by the pool! Their doggies occasionally stopped by to say Hi too! I'm sorry, but I can't picture a better morning than that!
The house has everything you need: full kitchen, a nice living room with cable tv, plenty of storage, AC and heater, hair dryer for the ladies (I was going to a wedding and forgot mine! :D).
We can't wait to go back! It's hard to find good people who really enjoy getting to know a "weird person" in their house.
We both work in the hospitality industry and I can say that it is really hard to find good people who provide excellent customer service. You are one of a kind.
Thanks for everything! See you soon!
We arrived to a lovely surprise of sidewalk art welcoming us to Coral Tree House and found delicious homemade cookies on the kitchen counter. Both Greg and Michelle go out of their way to make you feel right at home. The guest house is absolutely spotless and has everything you could possible want, comfortable living room with flat screen tv, well stocked kitchen, plenty of closet and storage in the bedroom plus all the amenities in the bath area, even bathrobes. We had been on the road for several weeks and this little oasis was the perfect spot to unwind for a few days. Michelle gave both my husband and I relaxing facials the day we arrived. Absolutely wonderful! Greg has outdone himself with the light show, it’s a must see! He even had a fire going in the chiminea for our enjoyment. Michelle is a master chef, breakfasts .were not only delicious but the presentation was amazing. The weather was wonderful so breakfast was served poolside each morning. The property is extremely convenient to the wineries in Temecula and close to several golf courses (Temecula Creek Inn and Pechanga Casino are just a couple of them). Our family lives nearby so we will definitely be back! Thanks Greg and Michelle for being such wonderful hosts!
The property and the house look even better than what photos can show you. They are both very private as well as welcoming. Michelle and Greg are wonderful hosts who make you feel right at home, away from home. We stayed for over a month and wish we could have stayed longer! We loved it and plan on coming back the next chance we get!
There is no place on earth that is more relaxing than this hidden jewel. The apartment was spotless, the pool area is resort like and Greg and Michelle will meet and exceed your every need. This was our best getaway by far. You will love this place! We went antiquing, to the beach, and to Coronado. Schedule your trips before or after rush hour like we did and you'll have no problem getting around beautiful southern California. Shaya and Mindi
My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice quiet weekend getaway close to Temecula and this place was perfect! Greg and Michelle couldn't have been any more gracious and the place was simply gorgeous. We enjoyed a nice lazy pool day and in the evenings the jacuzzi was a wonderful treat. The breakfasts Michelle prepared for us were simply wonderful--she even made sure she had vegetarian options for us. We enjoyed chatting with Greg and hanging out with their three adorable dogs (who were very well-behaved). The guest house was perfectly suited for our needs, with a good-sized bedroom, a full-sized kitchen, and a comfortable living area with a large screen TV and couch and easy chair. The property was also conveniently located to the two places we visited over the weekend: Escondido and Temecula wine trail. We couldn't have had a better time and are looking forward to our next visit!
Michelle and Greg are very gracious hosts, from the moment you confirm your reservation, Michelle is emailing you to make sure your stay is everything you could want it to be. The breakfasts are amazing, the patio and grounds are beautiful and lovingly maintained. We thoroughly visiting with Greg and Michelle and having the opportunity to spend time relaxing, having a glass of wine while listening to the waterfall, watching the lights and enjoying the ambiance. The apartment is very well appointed, with everything you could want, Michelle and Greg have done a fantastic job anticipating your needs and setting up a warm, inviting environment. We can't wait to come back again.
