Low comfort level

  • 2 of 5

My husband and I stayed in the Bonita Village Apt. the end of May. I read reviews and the apartment seemed to have a lot of bookings.  The rooms are not as nice as the pictures.  The apartment furniture is quite worn. There was no mosquito netting around the bed.  The sheets actually had holes in them. There were knobs missing on off a cabinet and a blender.  There was no microwave; no stand for the 5 gal. water jug.   We were in processes of buying a home and were troubled by no internet for 2 days.  Nicole’s daughter was able to let us see our emails on her phone.

The rooms seemed very close, and even with the fans and AC remained warm and stuffy.  We asked for a fan for the balcony and Sarah did bring one right over.  When the electricity went down the back-up system did not start up.

We did enjoy the pool.  My husband walked to the beach a couple of times. The grounds are pretty, but on close look some of the lighting on the path was broken over.  One night there was loud, stinky spraying going on.  I assumed it was for mosquitos. The buildings need work.  They were working on the roof of the building we were in and one of the apartments below us was being remodeled.

We rented two other places in Las Terrenas and feel this place was not a good value.  With some up-dating it would be a lot better.

Great Place.

We rented this property for 10 days and really enjoyed it. It's in a great location! It's a ways from town (about 2.8 km) but its a beautiful walk. Nicole and Sarah were very helpful if we needed anything. The pool in the complex is very nice and was never busy. We would definitely rent this property again.

Beautiful home in a quiet area near the best beach in Las Terrenas

  • 5 of 5

The house we stayed in was beautiful, clean, and very functional.

The two big beds were nice and firm and in rooms with a functional closet and lovely bathrooms. The hot water in the showers weren't very consistent but the owner did what they could. I think sometimes this can be out of their hands when they are living in an association. With the hot weather it wasn't a big deal. Each of the rooms had their own fans and a.c. units.

The living room has a t.v. and two couches that are great for hanging out. Our favorite hangout spot however was the great deck that was nice and private with a fancy little gas grill and a big table with many chairs. The top is covered which is great if it rains. There is window from the kitchen that opens to the table on the deck that is great for serving food and drinks through. The kitchen was a great size and the four burner stove was used everyday. I could seem to get the oven to work.

There was a coffee pot as well as a french press which my partner appreciated. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Big jugs of water can be purchased from the entrance guard instead of using the sink water or purchasing and tossing tons of plastic water bottles.

The house has wi-fi which worked well. There was a laundromat that we used that was just down the road. It seemed to take a while to wash but both sets of washers and dryers worked well and they were self serve.

The village had a pool and shower that was well taken care of. There were a couple of personal parking spots for this unit.

We loved how this place was at the end of the road and right by the best beach. The beach was beautiful and the best for swimming. There were many restaurants and bars to choose from and plenty of motos to take you were you wanted to go if you didn't rent a car.

We didn't communicate with Nicole but with her husband who gave is a great restaurant suggestion called Santi that was authentic D.R. cuisine and very affordable. It was in a town not far from the waterfall. He also hooked us up with a whale tour that was good.

The only part that was tricky for us on our stay was that we didn't have a well functioning cell phone had to communicate via email. I imagine the best way to communicate with the owners is by text or call. We had a few minor questions that didn't really get answered.

Overall we loved our stay and the owners were pleasant.

Thank you!!!
