Only wish we had stayed longer!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here, beautiful home in a great location, less than a minute from the heart of town! My boyfriend specifically loved the heated bathroom floors and the fireplace! I loved the tall windows that let a lot of light in during the day! There were a few strange things about our stay, however:

First, it looked like they were doing some maintenance/remodeling or something on the house - by the back sliding glass door, maybe they were replacing it, I'm not sure, but trim had been ripped off and the supplies were all over the porch. There was fairly big hole in the bottom corner of the wall by the sliding door that was letting the outside air in - we thought this was quite strange and worried about it effecting the temperature inside. It ended up not being a problem and we stayed pretty toasty! (Luckily we weren't there in the middle of the winter season!)

The patio and grill were one of the reasons we chose this place, and we had planned to grill outside on the patio one night but didn't because of all the tools and supplies out there. There was no room to relax! We werent too bothered by it though - we went and found a nice place in town to grab a bite to eat instead! We only stayed for 2 nights - If we had stayed longer it might have been a bigger issue for us.

Second, we were relaxing upstairs one afternoon when we heard a knock at the door. It was someone who was related to the owner of the house (I think she said her daughter-in-law owned the house?) and she wanted to know if we were leaving because she wanted to stay in the house that night. She was polite and friendly... but we did find it extremely strange. If she wanted to use her in-laws cabin, shouldn't she ask them if it's been pre-booked instead of knocking on the door when there is clearly people paying to stay there? Our car was parked outside and everything.

All in all, none of these things ruined our trip, and it was a beautiful place to stay. I would only take half a point off for these minor incidents - but I cant give 4.5 stars, so we will round up ;)

Spring Break

Great place! Patio needed shoveling and lights on to see the unit number at night.

Nice Winter Park Home

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in the house - the location was ideal for a ski trip, and fit 8 adults plus a dog. The only complaint was that this house could use a few more linens/towels and a little more maintenance. It was a cozy home though, and so nice to be close to a bus route. We would definitely come back!

Needs more love on cleaning but otherwise good

  • 4 of 5

A nice place with a great location. Only complaint is that the house needs some attention to cleaning and minor details. Crumbs, trash, debris still all over the floors when we arrived (although bathrooms and kitchen counters were clean). No broom, mop or vacuum for us to clean ourselves.

Also, no snow shovel, and decks (including access to grill) were covered 4' deep in snow, rendering outdoor areas inaccessible and unusable.

The house was cozy, roomy enough for my family of six and two dogs. We really enjoyed the house and will stay again the next time we go back.
