Light airy quiet basement studio

  • 4 of 5

Quiet area, studio was bright and clean. I am always impressed when there is no mold in the shower! Bed was comfortable, it was nice to sit in the pool area and have a few drinks. Pool was clean the pool area needs some love. The resident dog made his presence known a couple of times. People will walk by your windows to get to their residence but they are respectful. Free Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets was an awesome treat! Stormy when we were there and the motion lights turned off and on continuously during the night. We do appreciate the safety aspect but There should be a light switch to turn off the lights so you can sleep or maybe heavier curtains. It was warm and we needed to open the windows to cool the studio off. Please add screens. We would recommend this place to family and friends.

Kona, Hawaii

Great room with a view (as advertised!)

  • 4 of 5

We came to Carmel from Hawaii for a wedding, and before I booked a hotel, I checked VRBO - really glad I did. This place was maybe even nicer than it looked in the pictures. Very clean, quiet, and pretty. Really comfortable bed. The pool was too cool to swim in, but maybe if the weather was hotter we'd have appreciated that. Good, clear instructions on how to get in, and good communication by text message from the owner if and when you wanted it.

There's a great info binder they've put together to guide you to all the great eateries and hiking, etc. activities this area has to offer. Two extra-nice touches - they have 2 admission passes to Monterey Aquarium that will save you $ plus, they'll put on "on the list" to use 17-Mile Drive if you request. Makes you feel like a celebrity. (I was Clint Eastwood, in my mind).

There are some condiments in the little "kitchen" area (hot-plate, sink, microwave, fridge) but here's a suggestion: bring in some coffee if you like to drink it. Maybe some paper towels too.

Pretty good TV (but who's going to watch TV in Carmel?) and a nice assortment of area-specific magazines and books.

The price was very reasonable.

Would I stay here again? IN A HEARTBEAT! Thanks, Mark, and VRBO.

Warm, cozy studio - great location!

  • 5 of 5

Great studio with amazing views! We enjoyed our stay in this well kept studio that is very inviting. Wonderful property and conveniently located to Carmel, Monterey, and some of the greatest golf in the world. The guest passes for the aquarium are a great bonus and basically pay for one night of lodging. Highly recommend!!
