Enjoy Corea Maine where nature surrounds you! Off the beaten path, family fun!
Our log cabin is located in a quaint coastal fishing village on the northern coast of Maine; a haven for artists, photographers, writers, hikers, cyclists, kayakers, birders, and golfers. Our cabin accommodates families and friends, and we welcome pets too. We like to consider our cabin as "basecamp" for all of your adventures while here in Maine...Our cabin is a comfortable place to "hang your hat" after a day outdoors. The cabin is very clean and simple and private, and allows you to feel the character of Maine. If you are looking for a fancy place with a lot of amenities, our cabin is probably not for you.
The cabin accommodates up to 4 people comfortably.
We encourage you to sit by the camp fire at night, and listen to the ocean hit the rocky coast off in the distance. We also recommend a walk to the harbor at sunrise to watch the working lobstermen and to view the beautiful sunrises. Acadia National Park (Schoodic peninsula) is a short 10 minute drive from the cabin and provides breathtaking views of Cadillac Mtn. Acadia is well-known for hiking, biking, kayaking, whale watching, or just enjoying a quiet picnic by the ocean. All of this is just minutes from the cabin. Or you can simply relax on the porch of the cabin and listen to birds while reading a favorite book. Life is simple in Corea by the sea, and we hope that you will come to visit us and truly have an enjoyable vacation.
The owner, Bea, born in Maine, appreciates her unique property and enjoys providing you with all of the local knowledge you need, and she will make sure that you are enjoying your stay. After all, this is her special homestead... she welcomes all happy people!

We absolutely loved this cabin in Corea. My wife and I stayed here for five days during Labor Day weekend. The cabin was the perfect spot to completely relax while having all the activities of Bar Harbor near enough to access. The cabin is three minutes walk away from the Corea wharf. You can see lobster traps, eat at the amazing Corea Wharf Gallery (open only till 5, best lobster roll, crab roll, and blueberry pie of the whole trip), or walk around the ocean front. There is a lovely art gallery right across from the cabin where you can find Maine-made gifts, jewelry and art.
We enjoyed biking on Paul Bunyan road, a ten mile circuit about five minutes from the cabin, where you have ocean front on one side of the road and peaceful forest on the other. A short drive from the cabin will bring you into the Schoodic peninsula. We ate at the Pickled Wrinkle (delicious seafood and lots of local beers), enjoyed the local portion of Acadia National Park, and had amazing ice cream at Me and Ben's. There is a ferry that takes you to Bar Harbor, or you can take an approximately fifty-minute ride by car. The Mount Desert Island portion of Acadia National Park is more breathtaking, but there were so many tourists that we only went on two occasions.
We loved Corea because it had all of the nature without any of the crowds. The sense of peace is wonderful. We saw very friendly locals and a few tourists, but otherwise we heard seagulls, birds and tree leaves. Waking up in the morning to the sounds of the ocean was amazingly restorative. We enjoyed coffee on the porch and read a lot.
A couple of things to be aware of: the beds are on a loft that is accessible by a relatively narrow and steep staircase. Not a problem for us, but it might be for others who have mobility concerns. We definitely bought water to drink and to cook with. There is iron sediment that is pretty noticeable in the taste of the water, so the one meal we made, we used water from a gallon. We also were never able to access wifi. However, this did not take away from our enjoyment of the cabin and in fact got us to truly disconnect. There is wonderful food three minutes away, so we took advantage of that to the fullest. Otherwise, the cabin was very clean, the living area spacious and comfortable, and the outdoors wonderful. We will definitely be back and fully recommend.
A little slice of heaven
My husband and I wanted a complete getaway from the concrete jungle and this charming cabin in the woods fit the bill perfectly! The cabin is inviting, cozy and clean. Kim, the owner, was so wonderful and took such good care of us. The town of Corea is quiet and beautiful, with the townsfolk super friendly and eager to chat with us folks "from away." We can't wait to return and explore more of Acadia and Maine's hidden gems.
Great cabin! Perfect quiet location that made us feel like we were on vacation!
My wife and I really enjoyed this cabin. It was in a great location away from the crowds but close enough for us to hike and kayak every day. It had everything we needed.
My husband and I had an absolutely amazing time staying in this cabin! It's beautiful and the perfect size!! The town of corea is beautiful, friendly and a close drive to all the major attractions! Acadia is only 15 min. Away! We loved Schoodic point!
Thank you both so much! We are so glad that you enjoyed the cabin and nearby activities. Please come back and enjoy it again next season! All the best to you both...
Cute clean rustic cabin.
We really enjoyed the cabin and the location. The only things that were a little tough was the sulfur smelling water and the steep stairs with a dodgy railing. The cabin is adorable and super clean. It's quiet and very peaceful.
Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed the cabin. We apologize for any sulfur smell that you may have experienced. You were the first guest of the season and our plumber says the water needed to be flushed out. The railing to the loft is just part of that "cabin" experience, it is simple, yet sturdy, and most guests really enjoy the character of our cabin. We are glad that you enjoyed it too. Thank you very much
We stayed here just before Labor Day weekend, a family with two young boys, and absolutely loved it. It's a gorgeous location, the house has this great cottage feel, it's not huge by any means but that didn't matter to us. The owner/manager left a note for us when we arrived with local information and the house had brochures in a binder with information for things to do. The property was secluded and just breathtaking. There's a small fire pit on the side to enjoy evenings, cable worked fine for when we wanted to relax in the evening, and there was a horse shoe toss for the kids. From the deck I spotted multiple hummingbirds in the flowers right next to the house. I can honestly say the best thing about this place, sunrise! We took the bed in the loft that faces the wharf and the window allows you to perfectly capture the sunrise.
Corea Harbor is a paradise for photographers, naturalists, artists, writers, birders, cyclists, and hikers. It is a quaint coastal fishing village set away from time. If you love the outdoors and seek simplicity, this is a place that you will truly enjoy. It will set you free from the busy world we all get caught up in! Our property is less than a mile from the National Wildlife Refuge, and you are sure to see bald eagles and osprey and hummingbirds etc. Acadia National Park (Schoodic peninsula) is less than 10 minutes away and the ferry to Bar Harbor is only a 20 minute boat ride, or 50 min by car. Enjoy a camp fire at night outside of your cabin or walk down to the harbor to get your fresh lobster from the local lobstermen. We welcome outdoor enthusiasts, writers, photographers etc to stay in our rustic log cabin and we hope that you will enjoy our simple way of life.
