About the property

3.5 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 7

Facing the Public Garden in Boston's most elegant and prestigious neighborhood, our 2000 sq. ft. home is central to the best Boston has to offer. Restaurants, galleries, boutiques, the Charles River and Boston Common -- just steps away!

Enjoy Boston and live like a Bostonian in our comfortable and relaxed duplex home. Located on Beacon Street in Beacon Hill opposite the Public Garden and Boston Common (the oldest city park in America), our apartment occupies the first two stories of a historic granite-faced 1828 Asher Benjamin townhouse. The home receives gorgeous sunlight all day long and offers spectacular park and city views. It is, of course, fully air-conditioned.

The main floor, with 11 foot ceilings and original woodwork, is comprised of living room, dining room, and a classic Beacon Hill kitchen with an adjoining outdoor terrace.

The bedrooms are one level down (Garden level). The 3.5 bedrooms (one master with tempurpedic memory foam queen bed, two smaller bedrooms with three twin beds between them, and the half-bedroom at the front of the house, also with tempurpedic memory foam queen bed) sleep 7 very comfortably. There are two full baths (one with shower, the other with tub and shower.) on the sleeping level.

High speed WiFi is available throughout our home.

About Peter

Friends and family are the primary components of my life. I work in the hospitality industry, so relationships are at the forefront of both my personal and my professional life. Cooking, entertaining, skiing, traveling and organizing fun travel events are what I love. And sports in general.

Peter purchased this condo in 1996

Why Peter chose Massachusetts

Boston is a beautiful city. Beacon Hill is the most beautiful and livable part of Boston. Add the park view, the immediacy of the Charles River and Esplanade and access to downtown... there was not too much to think about!

What makes this condo unique

Beacon Hill is the most elegant and historic neighborhood in Boston and is known as one of the finest urban neighborhoods in the United States of America. It is at the center of Boston, walking distance from every principal attraction. Next to the gorgeous city parks -- the Public Garden with its Swan Boats and famous Ducklings, the Boston Common, the Esplanade and the Charles River as well as the Hatch Shell, it is also home to Charles Street, one of the most photographed commercial streets in America. With great restaurants and bars, high-end stores, boutiques, galleries and antique shops, along with fine food and wine shops, Charles Street has it all. An evening walk through the gaslit streets of Beacon Hill is often considered a highlight of any trip to Boston. It is all at your door.

All that listed above is within a two to three minute walk from our front door.

Within a five minute walk is the world class destination shopping and restaurants of Newbury and Boylston Streets, Chinatown and the Back Bay, the State House and the Freedom Trail, Downtown Crossing and the Downtown business district.

There are three T stops within a five minute walk. There is a Hubway (city bike rental) directly across the street. But you'll primarily be walking. Everything is that close!

The famous Cheers Bar (from the classic television show) is on our block, just a hundred yards away!

The house was great. Owners super nice! Great central location and able to walk to everywhere. Was a girls week with 6 women and we had a blast. When I bring my family back I want to stay in this house again

Awesome Setting!

  • 5 of 5

This was the second stop to our week long vacation. The location was perfect since it was near EVERYTHING! We took an Uber to a Celtic game, but that's just because it was raining. Otherwise we were able to walk everywhere (The Freedom Trail, Common, TD Arena, Cheers bar a few doors down, multiple places to eat . . .I could go on). The house itself was very cute and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own room and then some. It was very clean and the owners were just wonderful to deal with. They made everything super easy.

I would HIGHLY recommend this lovely historic townhouse to anyone that doesn't want to have to worry about their stay during a vacation!

Great Location and History

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful stay here. It is located directly across from the Public Garden and is just a short stroll from Charles St. and all of its wonderful restaurants. We were able to walk throughout Boston, and never even thought about needing a car. The house itself was clean and comfortable, and Peter was able to answer all of our questions. We look forward to getting back there soon.

A charming, delightful home base in Boston

  • 5 of 5

We are grateful for Peter's hospitality and for the opportunity to stay in his gracious, centrally located Beacon Hill home. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the charms of the nearby Public Garden and Boston Common--perfect for children and adults who needed room to run free. Our whole crew relished an evening skate on the Frog Pond, which was ever more enjoyable because we could return home in a flash to warm up!

We especially loved sharing dinner and family time in this gorgeous, well-appointed home. Thank you for hosting us, Peter!

Perfect for our group. Couldn't have been happier with our choice

  • 5 of 5

Peter was very helpful & went out of his way to accommodate our group of 7 ladies. The property was exactly as listed, very clean & well maintained. It is central & perfectly located right opposite Boston Common & the Botanical Gardens in a very safe area, ideal for seeing all the sites of Boston & close to great shopping & restaurants. Peter met us on arrival & was very forthcoming with local information & suggestions for sightseeing. He was very quick to rectify a couple of issues that arose during our stay. Our only disappointment was that there was no coffee supplied with the coffee maker. We would have appreciated tea & coffee for the coffee pot to get us started on the first morning as pantry supplies were listed as included. Tea towels in the kitchen would have been handy rather than having to use paper towels. All in all, a great place to stay in Boston & it still gets 5 stars, even without coffee!

Wonderful, convenient and lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Our team came to town for a few days for a conference at the Hynes Convention Center. We were so thrilled with our stay. Peter and his family were lovely and so accommodating. The rooms were clean and bright upstairs - perfect to hang out as a team and decompress with the hecticness of the conference - and there were plenty of options of comfy beds downstairs to keep everyone happy. Couldn't recommend more!!
