LOCATION:

Capitol Hill radiates a heady sense of geo-political significance with a small town feel. You're just a few blocks away from landmarks like the Supreme Court, U.S. Capitol, Senate and House Office Buildings, and the Library of Congress. At the same time, Hill locals have managed to instill a sense of "neighborhood." It's easy to see why the area's residents cherish their brownstones and tree-lined streets. You'll be able to run most errands on foot, not to mention walking to a variety of restaurants and cafes around Eastern Market and Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Avenues. You'll be near the 11 Smithsonian Museums along our National Mall including the Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art, Sackler and Freer Galleries of African and Asian Art respectively, National Museum of American History, the National Portrait Gallery & American Art Gallery and the list goes on!

TRANSPORTATION:

Leave your car behind! Nearby Union Station is a transportation hub for the mid-Atlantic region. The station contains two train lines (AMTRAK and local MARC trains). Union Station is also home to Washington’s subway Metro Red Line, Metro and Circulator buses, tour operators, and rental cars and bikes. ?

If you do have a car, public parking is available at Union Station and there is restricted street parking.

REVIEW:

My husband and I stayed at this lovely apartment in an equally wonderful neighborhood during the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC. The apartment is fully equipped and beautifully decorated. Every detail has been tended to and done so in high style. This includes: a lovely sitting area by the front windows, a beautiful bathroom with high-tech features, a fully-equipped kitchen with the latest in appliances, and a lovely bedroom with more-than-adequate closets and shelves.

The owners live nearby and are long-time residents of Capitol Hill. They provided written information about the sites in the area and were “just a phone call away” when we were in need of recommendations.

The neighborhood is as special as the apartment. The residence is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the Capitol. We took advantage of them all. And, the Metro is a short walk for easy access to the greater DC area.

This will always be our “home away from home” when we are in DC.

Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. Reviewer Comments:

We were really happy with this rental, just a few blocks from the Capitol. The apt was v clean, and appears to have been recently renovated as everything felt new. The street is very quiet and charming. It’s garden level, so you don’t get a lot of natural light. The only issue we had, was intermittent internet. We restarted the modem, but it still wasn’t consistent. We would stay here again. Tips: Jimmy T’s diner for breakfast, 2 blocks south.Eastern Market on the weekend. The Dabney restaurant- book res 2 weeks prior.

This apartment is perfection. The location is within easy walking distance of the U S Capitol and Supreme Court. We did Uber to a few locations and used The Circulator. Restaurants and shops all very handy. We love this apartment, it is our 2nd visit. The neighborhood is historic and lovely. We hope to return again.

Reviewer Comments:

I rented the apartment from LUXbnb from September 27 to October 4. I have rented apartments for vacation stays in many cities over the past 15 years. This is without question one of the best if not the best in which I have ever stayed. It was very clean and very well equipped. The apartment did not have the feeling that it was a rental. We had the sense that it was a home. This was a function not only of the space but also of the decor and the furnishings. As a result, we did not hurry out every morning for our sightseeing in the city but tended to linger till midday. We twice had our grandson over for dinner and he was equally impressed. We were certainly very happy there. Also, LUXbnb were extremely responsive to our calls regarding a malfunctioning lamp. All in all, it was an excellent experience. I shall certainly recommend it to any of our friends who are visiting Washington.

Reviewer Comments:

I really enjoyed this apartment. Well appointed, spacious, clean. It was well located and great for a longer work trip. My only complaint was the 10am check out (housecleaner actually arrived at 945!). I had to work the morning of my departure so having to vacate early was a bit of a pain. Had I realized, I would have booked someplace with a later or more flexible check out. Other than that though,, if I have morning departures in the future, I'll be back!

Owner's Response: Hello Lori, Thank you for your stellar review of your stay in another fine LUXbnb property. We’re so glad that you loved the apartment. I wanted to let you know that you can have a late departure! We need to coordinate with the housekeeper and there is an extra fee, but we can do it. We look forward to hosting you on your next trip to Washington. You can save by booking directly at .
