Spacious and nice -- you gotta like the woods!!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the salt box house in the woods, it was very roomy and we could fit everybody very nicely and comfortably. Beds were fine, kitchen and bathrooms fine. The pool in the development was nice and we used it quite a few times to cool off. The dogs are used to our old neighborhood with sidewalks and curbs, and they were a little freaked out by being deep in the woods with none of those things. And their parents (me and my husband) are truly beach people and not woods people too -- so taking the dogs out at 10:30 pm in the pitch dark with a flashlight was a little scary! But for anybody who has no such complex, this is a charming and very nice place to stay. We drove around to places we would never have found otherwise and I discovered Harris Teeter, and found an old friend from Maplewood NJ working there! The world is smaller than we think. The drive to Rehoboth Ave. takes a while with traffic, so if you are going there, judge accordingly.

Nice vacation home

  • 4 of 5

This is a beautiful house that had plenty of space for our family, including our dog. The house was well-maintained and had everything you would need for a stay at the beach. The community was great and the pool was nice, too. The location was perfect for our trips to the beaches, boardwalks and favorite restaurants. The only thing that was different than we had expected was the backyard, because there really isn't any. It's just a small brick walkway and wooded area. Also, the mosquitoes were so bad, we never sat outside on the deck. Even so, we would still consider staying there again, since we had so much else to do that missing sitting outside or having a yard was not that important to us. Also, the owner was nice and made it very easy and convenient to stay there. We were especially happy to be able to bring our dog along, and not have to try to find someone to keep her for us. Overall, everything was as expected, and we had a wonderful vacation! Some of our favorite places nearby are Cape Henlopen State Park, Indian River State Park, Rehoboth Boardwalk, the town of Lewes, Jungle Jim's Water Park, The Sea Shell Shop, Crabby Dick's Restaurant and The Rusty Rudder Restaurant.

Owner's Response: Thank You for staying. We would love to have you back in the future. The community does spray for mosquitoes several times during the season, but we are surrounded by a bay so unfortunally I know of no way to make them go completly away. We usually do not go out on the deck late at night, they seem to be there mostly after 9PM. Our yard goes about 30 feet from the deck which is mostly wooded. We like it that way because it is more private and puts a buffer from the other houses. The land beyond 30 feet or so is common land that belongs to the community. which lot of that is also wooded. We did put in a brick walk if you do want to go in the back yard. Marcia

Spacious and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay for our first trip to the Delaware coast! The house was clean, comfortable, and filled with natural light. We loved having the sheets and towels provided for us, and, of course, we appreciated being able to bring our little dogs with us. The community was so pretty and quiet, and it was an easy drive to Lewes and Rehobeth. Having JD Shuckers, the Grog Shop, and the little general store about five minutes away was a pleasant surprise perk. Thank you for making your home available to visitors; it's definitely worth the very fair rental fee.

Very nice and efficient house away from the crowd

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at your home away from the crowd! Drive to beaches and resources was a bit longer but reasonable. The home was very efficient and user friendly with mostly everything you need to enjoy a home away from home. Much thanks to the owners for sharing their home with us and answering any questions we had about the area to make our stay so pleasant! Hope to get down that way again!
