I am a professional private chef that travels with with my clients throughout the year. My home is an extension of my personality and I enjoy sharing it and its energy with fellow travelers. I have lived and worked in Northeast Harbor for almost twenty years and think it one of the most beautiful places on the east coast. Come find out for yourself!
The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2003
I started my career as a chef on yachts and landed in Northeast Harbor time and time again. It was so beautiful I bought a home here!
For me, having access to Acadia for hiking and biking during the summer and fall and cross country skiing, hot baths and crackling fires in the winter is why I love my home. I love having my friends over for dinner and games but enjoy jumping into Bar Harbor for pizza and a movie at Reel Pizza equally as much. Taking a boat out the Isleford and having Lobster at the dock after visiting the art gallery or poking around the shops in Northeast Harbor...it is all a true delight!
But they are all in my guest book...Please look at the last few pictures to see them...
Charming House. Immaculate. comfortable. Extremely well stocked kitchen, great location, right between Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor. Owner extremely Helpful!! Hope we get back to the area some day. Will certainly look to renting this house again!
Beautiful home, gorgeous weather, fabulous restaurants, easy access to great hiking ..! We had a wonderful get-away...Just wished we had booked the house for 3 more days..! We hope to be repeat guests of yours..Thank u for sharing your lovely home with us..
I turned 50 this year and decided one of the things I would like to do to celebrate was to take some of my closes friends away for a long weekend. I put quite a bit of thought into what location would be best suited for us as we all love to be active outdoors hiking, riding bikes etc. I chose ACadia and Watersigns it could not have been more perfect we hiked everyday and then returned to the house to start a fire in the fireplace and cook in the well equipped beautiful kitchen. There was nothing that we needed that was not there I had a unexpected dog visit and e mailed Tracey to make sure it was ok for the dog to stay a couple of days and she was beyond gracious offering us the use of dog bowls and leashes. The location was perfect we walked to the giant slide trail head from the house which gives you access to the park in about 5 min! Either direction out of the driveway takes you to avadventure. One day driving home we saw a 10 point buck and minutes later pulled into the house to have another buck in the backyard. We watched a enormous eagle fishing near Eagle lake. We are all still reflecting on our stay at Watersigns with huge smiles on our faces!! Kudos to you Tracey for making your home so enjoyable and welcoming. We will be back!
It was delightful staying at this real (but fully renovated) farmhouse! It became home base for our week on MDI. Water Signs was meticulously organized and stocked with everything a couple - or large family - could ever want or need. It's prime location afforded us the ability to travel anywhere on the island and in Acadia in 20 minutes. Legendary Abel's Lobster Pound is just steps down the road and to be visited for dinner! Much thanks to the thoughtful and responsive owner. We hope to return.
Truly an exceptional place. I rented this home with my grandmother, mother, husband, 2 little children, sister and her 2 little children. The place fit us beautifully and we had an amazing visit. I was most impressed by the taste of every detail. The sheets are incredible, the bathrooms feel like a spa, the kitchen is top-of-the-line and the living room is super cozy and sweet. The garden is also dreamy.
We certainly will come back one day. My husband and two children slept beautifully upstairs. It's totally magical upstairs and was my favorite room. My husband and I pushed the two twin beds together and our kids slept on the other beds. It worked out great!
I highly recommend this place.
My family rented this home in July of 2015 and it was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 young children. It was just the right size for us including the wonderful kitchen and large family room where we were able to kick back and relax each evening after the sun went down. Even though this was an older home you could tell a lot of thought went into the remodeling including the latest appliances in the kitchen and ceiling fans throughout the house. They added to our comfort. Off the road parking was plentiful and there was more than enough room to store our bicycles and yard games.
Another great feature is the location - we had easy access to Acadia National Park which we visited every day. You could literally walk to a trail which would take you anywhere in the park. With just a short drive you could reach any of the beautiful towns and attractions including our personal favorite - mini golf.
I highly recommend this property and found the owner to be very helpful and prompt in responding to our questions. We took her advice on places to eat and to try the Popovers at the Jordan Pond House (which were excellent).
We would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Mt Desert Island!
