About LARRY AND ESTELLE DOUGHERTY
WE ARE A RETIRED COUPLE WITH SIX CHILDREN AND 15 GRANDCHILDREN WHO ALL ENJOY DOWNHILL AND CROSS COUNTRY SKIING, BIKING, HIKING, SWIMMING AND ALL OUTDOOR SPORTS. LARRY IS A COLORADO NATIVE WHO GREW UP IN COLORADO SPRINGS. WE RETIRED IN 2013 AND OWN A HOME IN DENVER. WE PURCHASED A SECOND HOME IN WINTER PARK WHERE OUR CHILDREN LEARNED TO DOWNHILL SKI. WE ARE HAPPY TO SHARE OUR BEAUTIFUL CONDO WITH GUESTS WHEN WE ARE NOT USING IT.

WE ARE CLOSE TO CROSS COUNTRY AND DOWNHILL SKIING, THE WONDERFUL RECREATION CENTER IN WINTER PARK, PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS, AND CAN DRIVE EASILY TO GRAND LAKE, SULPHUR HOT SPRINGS, GRANBY. THE PENTHOUSE IS EXTRAORDINARILY BEAUTIFUL, WITH 4855 SQUARE FEET, FABULOUS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SPACES FOR SEVERAL FAMILIES, AND A BABY GRAND PIANO FOR SING-A-LONGS AND MUSIC.
What makes this Condo unique
THIS PENTHOUSE IS ONE OF THE LARGEST CONDO UNITS IN WINTER PARK. IT IS ACCESSIBLE BY ELEVATOR, WHICH MEANS NO STEEP STAIRS EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AND IS ACCESSIBLE FOR HANDICAPPED PEOPLE (WITH BARS IN THE TOILET AREA AND BARS AND STOOL IN THE SHOWER IN THE MASTER BATH.) WE HAVE THREE RESERVED PARKING SPACES AND STORAGE AREAS IN THE HEATED GARAGE. A BABY GRAND PIANO IS A FOCAL POINT ON THE MAIN FLOOR AND THE LOFT AREA HAS A FLAT SCREEN TV, FITNESS EQUIPMENT, AND A SAUNA/STEAM ROOM.

Perfect condo for our group
Our group of 12 adults had such a wonderful stay at this condo. The owners were very helpful in communicating all the details we needed in advance for a stress free experience. The open concept was perfect for spending time together after a long day on the slopes. The kitchen has all the appliances, pots, pans, bakeware, etc. that you may need. One note is that the bedrooms are on the main level, so you may hear your friends/family chatting in the living area if you try to go to bed early (and happen to have a bedroom close to the dining room or kitchen). But overall, I would highly recommend this place!

Spacious Rental with Excellent Views
This condo was perfect for our winter vacation. We had 4 families (8 adults & 7 kids) and we were all easily accommodated. We would definitely look here again for our next Winter Park vacation!

Wonderful Winter Park Condo
Our stay in this beautiful penthouse condo was memorable. The exterior views are breathtaking. Spacious, immaculate, and tastefully well-furnished - this was a perfect choice for our weekend in Winter Park.

We really enjoyed our family reunion in this beautiful, well-equipped condo. The wide third floor view from the Great Room windows and the main balcony was spectacular, even more so because the aspens were at their fall color peak. The viewscape stretches over the city of Winter Park and high up the mountain sides to the Continental Divide.
For large groups, you may want to know that 3 of the full baths are only accessible through private bedrooms, and one bathroom is upstairs in the loft/exercise/sauna room. The owners have a number of rules to protect their condo, including removing shoes before entering the condo and quiet hours after 9PM. A number of rules were only provided after the rental was made or were available on signs in the condo. You might want to ask for all the rules before booking to be sure your group is fine with them.
Thank you for your comments. The condo has 4.5 bathrooms - three en-suite, one upstairs, and a half bath by the two bedrooms that do not have an en-suite bathroom. We do have condo rules, most of which are standard and/or requested by the cleaning service. We do ask guests to remove shoes at the entrance, since often shoes are quite dirty after hiking, biking, skiing, etc. This protects the cleanliness of the condo and keeps the noise down. Our neighbors on the second floor are very sensitive to noise on the beautiful hardwood floors, particularly running children or piano playing. We do talk to future guests about this before they book. The condo quiet hours are in the condo by-laws as a consideration to all the residents of the building.

Great Place for Family reunion!
The house is huge and well equipped and maintained. Big windows around dining and living room areas to enjoy beautiful, spectacular views of mountain scenery. Great place to have multiple family gathering and we enjoyed staying in this condo.

Beautiful home with tons of space!
We had a lovely family reunion trip to winter park and this home was a great place to relax and catch up in! There was plenty of room for the 8 adults and four kids we had with us. The downstairs neighbors complained to us once and tried to tell us that the morning quiet hours had changed but we confirmed with the owners that they hadn't, but otherwise we had no issues. the location was perfect for the resort activities and so close to the main strip of Winter Park there are also quite a few trail heads right down the street if you're looking for a good hike!

This condo is located within walking distance of the Town of Winter Park, with all its restaurants, shops, ski and bike rentals, etc. We are close to Wolf Park and Hideaway Park with their playgrounds, skate park, sledding hill, amphitheater for special events, volleyball and tennis courts, picnic tables with barbecues/fire pits, fitness trails and paved paths for hiking. The Grand Park Community Recreation Center is located in Fraser just outside the town of Winter Park. The Recreation Center contains a natatorium with a 20-foot loop slide, spray and play feature, a lazy river, zero-depth entry pool and a four-lane, 25-yard lap pool. The center also includes a whirlpool, sauna and steam room, a climbing wall, a multi-sport gymnasium, and a cardio, circuit training and free-weight area linked to a running/walking track. Drop-in childcare is available, as well as locker rooms and family changing rooms. A Safeway grocery store is nearby in Fraser. Cross country skiing is fabulous at Snow Mountain Ranch and Devil's Thumb. Full- and half-day rafting trips are available on the nearby Clear Creek and Colorado Rivers. In addition, Grand Lake is 35 miles from Winter Park. Grand Lake has excellent facilities for boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. Located just outside of Grand Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park is one of Colorado’s crown jewels. Established in 1915, the park encompasses 265,769 acres and includes some of the highest peaks in Colorado. In the park, you can enjoy hiking, backpacking, bird watching, camping, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, mountain biking and fishing. Rocky Mountain National Park has 150 lakes and 476 miles of creeks and streams, including the headwaters of the Colorado River.

Rates are subject to change until reservation confirmed. Payments are non refundable. Please contact owner for confirmation of reservation. Please note that the cleaning fee is due to the size of the penthouse. If housekeeping services are desired during the rental term, please contact owner to make arrangements. Be sure to enter the correct number of adults and children, including babies. Maximum capacity is 18 but for groups over 15, we will charge an extra $50 per night for the number over 15. If you have more people staying at the condo than you have stated, you will be charged $50 per night for each extra person. No parties are allowed for people who are not staying at the condo without the written permission of the owner. If you have any special event which the owners have not explicitly approved, your deposit will not be returned.
