We were in town for a long weekend and were very pleased with our stay at this condo. The unit was extremely clean and had sufficient amenities included for a family to utilize. Carol is very nice and is a pleasure to work with if you need local information or assistance with the condo. Highly recommended if you don't mind the dated finishes.
Refrigerator didn't work
Overall, we loved the condo and our time at Smith Mountain. My issues came from absolute poor customer service when booking. I've spoken to someone about that but it took numerous forms of communication in order for that to happen. I also learned that the reason I was double charged was because the owner didn't follow protocol. They didn't respond within 24 hours and then sent an invite afterwards which is what prompted my account to be charged twice.
So, for our FIRST time using VRBO, we experienced a double charge and fee to my bank account due to the owner not following procedure, poor customer service from HomeAway regarding the double booking and a refrigerator that didn't work the entire week......how would you rate it?
One praise I do need to give is to Carol's husband. He was wonderful. He came several times to work on the refrigerator and compensated us at the end of the trip for the inconvenience which I don't feel was HIS responsibility.
