About Kris Linton
I am a retired therapist who has always loved local history and architecture in Albuquerque, my native home. My husband and I have lived in and renovated old homes for over 35 years. We have one daughter who lives in London and also loves old buildings.
Kris Linton purchased this House in 2014
Why Kris Linton chose Old Town
It had been for sale for over 3 years and 3 of the 4 homes on the property were not inhabitable. Because of its wonderful location close to Old Town and across the street from the park, we were afraid someone may raze the old buildings and build something modern. We loved the old modest adobes.
What makes this House unique
We have made every effort to maintain the integrity of these old houses while providing modern conveniences that 21st century families expect. We have worked side by side with craftsmen that work with adobes, tin roofs, hand plastering and technicians that have made electrical wires, heating elements and plumbing features as discreet as possible.

We loved Kris and the casita. Staying here made us realize if we had 1 additional bedroom and bath as the master, this type dwelling would be home. Close to everything we wanted to do and places we wanted to go. The park across the street was perfect for us and our dogs.
Wonderful Place To Stay
The little Casita was old (historical) but clean and well equipped with all the necessities. Our hosts Terry and Kris were onsite, friendly and very helpful. Located across the street from a large public dog-friendly park and the museums, it was so convenient to tourism. A short walk to Old Town provided us with access to restaurants and shops with native arts. Overall, just wonderful.
Charming abode with lots of interesting objects to look at. There is a summary of some of the objects and where they came from and a history of this unique shot gun house. Love the location: walking distance to the plaza, shops, restaurants, and museums. Really loved being across from the park (and my dogs did too!). And thank you for the delicious empanadas!
Great cabin at a great location
The property is excellent! Very well appointed and convenient to the Old Town shopping markets and restaurants. You will not be disappointed... Kris was exceptional.
Greatly enjoyed our stay here. Kris goes out of her way to make one feel comfortable.
A Home Away From Home in Albuquerque Old Town
The Priest's House is one out of several rehabilitated adobe structures set off from Albuquerque's nicest park by a remote-controlled gate. My son and I stayed for two weeks while I was doing work at UNM and he was just enjoying the city. The interior of the little house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It has excellent climate control (i.e. not a swamp cooler) and the beds (a full size bed and a full size pullout couch) were extremely comfy. Because our stay was so long we cooked all the time in the kitchen, which contains an almost full-sized fridge, a small oven, and an electric range top. And the owners were very responsive to requests if anything was lacking.
There are laundry facilities conveniently onsite, the parking is ample, and the casita is a short walk from the Old Town shops, Albuquerque's museums, bus stops on two lines, which was important because we only had one car between the two of us, and, I was happy to discover, it is only a little over a mile from the Los Duranes community center which has a nice fitness room where you can work out for free. I also rented a bike one day and rode the entire length of the bike trail along the river, which is a gorgeous ride and very easily accessible from Old Town. We didn't really use the TV or the CD player but I can say the wifi is decently fast most of the time.
The one thing I would change, and I think it's an easy fix, would be to put a pull-down shade on the inside of the back bedroom door. Right now there's no shade at all, so the backyard light shines in and bounces off a mirror into the bedroom at night. It didn't keep me awake but it may be a thing for some people.
Anyway, 10/10, would stay here again!
