One opens to the south view, the other two to the north (one with direct access to the second bathroom, and one with a giant skylight over the bed for star shows nightly). Vaulted ceilings in the great room and a large sectional sofa provides alternate sleeping opportunities. Dining table for 6, and adjacent sitting area for 3 by the fire. The rental provides access to the first floor of the property in an open floor plan in the main living area.
We have only one neighbor who values the seclusion of the Magical Mojave as much as we do. Therefore large groups and parties are not a match for the Ninja Ranch. If that happens to be what you are looking for we want to welcome you to join us at the Joshua Tree Music Festival twice a year which is an amazing place for all of the above.
All photos are from January 2015. Property is leased via a signed rental agreement. Payment is easily handled via the online payment system. I make a personal contact with each person I rent to and do my best to ensure your stay is pure mojave ninja magic. Ninja Ranch is a super special place that loves super people.

Colleen (Chaz) O'Brien purchased this house in 2011
The small town of Joshua Tree has a radically high ratio of lovely, creative folks. The wide open surroundings are inspiring. I had been looking for a place with some space, adjacent to the park. I fell in love with the ranch in a ninja minute.
You can become a certified Ninja!
The house has been designed beautifully. The furniture is clean, new, and comfortable. Our bed was great. The kitchen was stocked with good utensils, nice pots and pans, and nice dishes. We weren't crazy about the shower, which involves standing in a tall tub - it's just a little awkward to get out - but because we were asked to be super water-conscious, we didn't use it every day anyway.
This house felt luxurious in many ways, including a lovely patio space where we spent our evenings.
Do be aware of the need to be careful with water, and the septic system. I didn't see that as a drawback, merely a reality in the desert on a property that is self-sufficient in terms of water.
We didn't meet the owners, but they were very responsive to text messages and gave clear instructions in advance.
Our main purpose in being here was to spend multiple days seeing and hiking in Joshua Tree. Our springtime visit was perfect in terms of weather, flowers, and uncrowded trails!
We would gladly stay at Ninja Ranch again.
I can't say enough great things about our stay at the Ninja Ranch! We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys, and wanted to stay close to the Joshua Tree National Park. The Ninja Ranch was perfect, from the close proximity to the Park (for our day hikes), to the RELAXING atmosphere after our hikes, to exceeding our every need! The home is very clean and every amenity is met! Chaz was very easy to work with and had great input for our hikes, eating, and star gazing...which I can't express how wonderful it is right out the front door!! My son brought his telescope and we even got to see the stripes on Jupiter since there isn't any light pollution! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! I would absolutely recommend Chaz's home to anyone who wants to hike, relax, and rejuvenate themselves!! Thank you so much!!
We had a great time at Ninja Ranch. It was clean and we loved Chaz's decorative eye. The beds were super comfortable and the kids loved the tiny door into their room. Thanks!
The name is what initially caught our eye -- several of us are martial-arts-film enthusiasts -- and made for lots of fun pre-trip joking about our upcoming ninja training camp. When we arrived we were thrilled to find the Ninja Ranch to be a quiet, spacious, and well appointed home.
Our group of 5 was very comfortable in the house, which allowed for privacy in the bedrooms but also relaxed togetherness in the living area or outside. Especially impressive was the kitchen, which has all the equipment a serious cook needs. It's enough to tempt you to just hang out at the ranch, cooking and chatting, for your entire stay -- though of course you'll want to leave to explore the park, which is conveniently close.
Chaz was extremely helpful and responsive both before and during our stay. Our only regret is that we hadn't planned on staying longer. We definitely hope to come back to Ninja Ranch next year!
We had the best time. The house is VERY clean, this is always so important to me. We loved the hammocks. In the evening I was in the hammocks while my husband BBQ, we sat by the fire and watched the stars come out. They sure are bright here!! The bed was super comfy and the couch too. The kitchen was well stocked, we had everything we needed and more. Hiking was the best, and we watched he rock climbers which was amazing to see. The home is located in a very quiet area which made is so peaceful. I actually meant to ask Chaz, where did you get those awesome bath towels? I want some for our home. We watched Netflix at night after the fire pit and star gazing. Mornings were equally beautiful....we would have caught sunrise but the bed was so comfy we slept in, lol. Great place, highly recommend it.
I took my two children and one of their friends and we had a great time. The house was very comfortable, enough seating at the dining room table to eat and play games. The coffee maker was fabulous!! I couldn't ask for more!
Directions were awesome and it was right off the main drag so easy to find.
Chaz was very amenable !!
