We stayed here June 15-22, 2014. What a beautiful place. The owner did not exaggerate anything about the place and gives you her phone number and email address. We had two small boys that had the time of their life. I loved the deck in the morning as I drank my coffee. The sunsets were unbelievable. This is a fantastic central location. Close to Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. We flew in on Cape Air (which was wonderful) and the house is only about 15 minutes from the airport. We rented linens from Takemmy Linen and they were at the door when we arrived. Shop for groceries at Stop and Shop in Edgartown because it is larger than the one in Vineyard Haven. Morning Glory Farms is open everyday and they have fresh vegetables and homemade breads/pie etc. The boys & adults loved Felix Neck Seashore Excursion, Longpoint Beach is worth the drive, State Beach has the calmest water, buy a kite at the Corner Store in Oak Bluffs and fly it in the park, drive over to Aquinnah to Gay Head, visit Polly Hill Arboretum for the plants, peacefulness and wildlife-deer, turkey, chipmunks, squirrels, birds. Visit the lighthouses. All the restaurants we ate at had good food with great service and were very accommodating with the small children...MV Chowder Co, Linda Jean's, Nancy's, Café in the Flowers, Guiadarno's, MV Brewery, Lobsterville Bar & Grill. The absolute best thing ever though is the beach right on the property. We swam, looked for sea creatures, loved the geese and ducks, built sand castles, and just relaxed. Our week wasn't long enough and I so appreciate having the opportunity to get to experience MV at this little piece of paradise.
This is by far the best house we've ever rented. It was perfectly clean when we arrived and much bigger than we expected. The open kitchen is big and beautiful! We especially loved the huge commercial stove. The master suite is set back with plenty of privacy. But most importantly, the view and the back deck! Every night but one we enjoyed breathtaking sunsets! The adults were able to sit on the deck while the kids played at the beach for hours.
We don't have babies anymore but I would have loved this house when our kids were little. It would have been so easy for babies or toddlers to nap while older children could still play at the beach. No more packing everything up!
The owners did not exagerate the views or the condition of this house! We spent most of our time on the huge covered back deck, playing THE RING GAME, eating lunch, dinner and enjoying Happy Hour sunset views. The private beach for the kids is right there, they can collect sea life and swim to the raft, right in front of us. The older kids took the transit from out front to town- less than 2 miles away, or we all went to shop and eat. Plenty of room, and gourmet kitchen was beautiful to cook in!
