As others have previously stated- the steps leading down to this house are precarious at best. When we arrived, the pathway/steps down to the house was overgrown with weeds and poison ivy in addition to being jagged and falling apart! We had a very difficult time navigating the steps with our children due to the overgrowth on the path which was a danger. Once inside, we also noticed poison ivy lapping up onto the bottom deck thus making it off limits to our kids! The top deck had a swarm of hornets on it also making it not useable and - the path from the house to the dock was blocked by poison ivy!!! We reached out to the owner who did send someone out that day however- they did not cut down the poison ivy but rather sprayed it. Spraying the poison ivy is not going to rectify the problem during our stay. The maintenance person also liberally sprayed hornet spray on the top deck which was now coated with toxic spray and dead hornets!!! So- we could not use that deck either AND the hornets returned the next day!

The morning we were departing- there was a scorpion in the toilet!!!! I again reached out to the owner (and included pics!) and received no response from him. I waited a few more days for a response and again emailed the owner about our concerns. Unfortunately, the owner failed to respond or follow up on any of our additional concerns and never addressed the issue of the scorpion.

It doesn't appear that the owner is vested enough in the property to perform basic maintenance prior to renting it out to guests. Mowing and pest control would have easily prevented these issues from occurring!!
