We loved our week at the Treetop Condo. It was very well located for both Pelada (quieter beach/delicious cocktails at La Luna) and the busier Guiones beach (more choice of surf schools/restaurants etc. The condo itself was very comfortable and well stocked. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 and lots of different areas to relax/read a book. My daughter enrolled in surf lessons, the rest of us pottered around on the beach and spend lazy afternoons by the pool. We saw monkeys in the trees outside our balcony. Angela who was the local agent was very helpful with advice and sorting out taxis/trips. Very much hope to return again and would definitely stay in the Treetop condo.
We are so glad you all enjoyed your stay. It is a magical place, and we love to share it with pura vida families like yours.
Nosara New Year
My family and I just returned from our 11 day stay in Nosara. The condo was nicely equipped, furnished, and solidly built. The bonus bedroom on the porch was great for my daughter who is 7. The condo was in a great location close to 4 great restaurants, a coffee shop, ice cream, the beach, and a grocery store. Playa Guinoes is a 10 minute walk from the condo, while playa pelada was a short 2 min walk. The condo provided a garage for our car which could be locked, and a night security guard. My daughter was in a week long kids surfing camp which was amazing for her and us, www.nosarakidscamp.com I highly recommend it. The condo pool was perfect for hot afternoons to escape the sun and one day we watched about 20 howler monkeys in the trees above the pool. I would definitely come back to Nosara and stay in this same condo!
Open-air condo, hot jungle and close to beach
We visited Costa Rica for two weeks in August 2015 as a family of four, with a 4 year-old and a 1 year-old. Overall a great trip and the Nosara area is awesome.
The location of the condo was great for us with the beach just a few minute walk and a few GOOD restaurant options also within an easy walk. The condo itself was a nice open layout, just as seen in the photos and it was well-appointed with pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. so that we were able to cook most of our meals - a few with fresh fish we bought from the fishermen on the beach.
Playa Pelada was an ideal location with kids as the tidal pools at low tide were playgrounds for our kids to swim, discover shells, chase fish, etc. Pelada seems mellower and less crowded than Guiones, which has the surf and is a 15 minute walk to the first breaks.
The other condo guests were families like ours, though mostly European, and we enjoyed meeting and spending time with them. The pool on the upper level was where we spent most afternoons to escape the heat, and it is very quiet and peaceful up by the pool.
We went during August, which is typically the rainy season, but the rains did not come when we were there, so the open-air condo was very hot during the majority of the day (this is coming from a Texan family, we know humid heat). This made naps for the kids challenging, and we basically spent the whole day in our swimsuits, wet, either from the shower or swimming pool. We were told, this weather was atypical, but we want future families to have that on the radar. The fans weren't great, but the owner did supply a floor fan a few days into the stay to help with the heat. We never used the nice furniture inside because it was too hot.
Keep in mind, the entire complex is open air so you hear everything around you (Howler monkeys, cars, music, birds, etc.). This makes for a very Costa Rican experience.
The condo's internet was down while we were there, which made working remotely much more challenging that I had planned. I ended up hunting for a reliable wifi source throughout Nosara's coffee shops and found the best to be Cafe Paris, FYI. The condo owner apologized and mentioned looking into a dedicated internet service for the condo in the near future.
Angela, the property manager, was available and helpful during our stay. There is constant property surveillance, so we felt totally safe.
Overall, a great trip and we do plan to return to Nosara in the future.
Walk or a short drive to excellent surf breaks and local surf schools, daily yoga and wellness classes, horseback riding, deep sea or surf fishing, stand-up paddle boarding, skate park, organic farmer's markets, excellent restaurants and juice bars, live music. Close to canopy tours, eco and coffee tours, bird watching. For a remote area with a laid back, easygoing vibe, there is no loss of outdoor activities and adventures you can have every single day.
