Watch the sun set over the gulf from this secluded beachfront home on Manasota Key with a pristine private beach. The property stretches from the gulf to the bay, and includes both a gulf beach and a private boating/fishing dock on Lemon Bay. A wooden cat walk connects your front door to the gazebo on the gulf.
This classic Florida stilt house with modern amenities includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large dining room, large living room (with large screen television), well appointed kitchen and a lanai. The upstairs master bedroom has a private bath and king bed. The upstairs also hosts two guest bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with two twin beds) that share a second bathroom. Another master bedroom on the first floor has a private bath with jetted tub and a queen bed. The whole house is on stilts, with private parking underneath and an elevator to make first floor access easy.
Adults and children alike can enjoy swimming, shelling, collecting sharks teeth, and viewing the native wildlife such as dolphins, pelicans, herons, and of course the gopher tortoise that lives in the back yard. Enjoy drinks on the gazebo while watching your children build sand castles while the sun sets over the gulf. Fish for Red Fish, Snook, Snapper and Sheephead. In the summer, you may even see sea turtles make their nests on the beach.
Extra housekeeping can be provided as often as you wish for an extra charge.

We built this house in 1977 as a family vacation house, and for a while it became our year-round residence. We love the natural Florida experience, with undisturbed beaches and native wildlife.
We were celebrating a 50th bday and had TONS of friends and family coming and going. The house is spacious AND very accommodating. The property having the dock and the private beach area were a major bonus as well. There was fishing, kayaking, swimming and sunning. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything and had lots of space for all the chefs we had visiting during our stay. We had no issues at all besides having to pack it up and go back to reality. Looking forward to another stay another time soon!!!!
I read all the previous reviews and I agree with most of them in that the house needs some TLC. Other wise I fell in love with this house and could have lived there forever. The beach is beautiful and very quiet. There is a board walk that is made of wood it'd had even been recently repaired here and there but still had some boards popping off. The big problem was the last person who put the wood planks down the board walk placed the nails maybe screws right down the center. It's hard on your bare feet. They are not flush with the boards. My personal opinion you should use something like Trex to build all the board walks. Anyway love love love the hammock. It is in the perfect place on the side of the gazebo. More water toys would be nice 2 cheap chairs just the little short ones and a boogie board and a blow up raft and tube. Very cheat toys I always have to buy and leave behind. The house is a little quirky But I love the place and would stay there again when I can afford it.
We rented the house for a family vacation. The house location couldn't be better, beach out one door, Lemon Bay out the other. The house was spacious and well stocked. We had the beach out front to ourselves. The owners are responsive.
As others have stated the house is in need of some maintenance and updating. In its day this home was surely a show place, but now it is showing its age. Appliances were dated, the house needed some exterior cleaning and outside vegetation needed attention. There were numerous light switches which appeared to control nothing and only one light out of three working in the upstairs bath.
There is a great dock across the street on Lemon Bay, however the boat lift and lighting don't work. With the prevailing winds the lift is necessity to keep your boat from getting beaten by wind driven chop.
In all the house met our needs and we enjoyed the beach, but we will likely look at other homes in the future.
Our family consisted of six adults and two children. There was plenty of room for all of us to have private and shared spaces. We especially enjoyed the large dining room for our family meals. We spent a lot of time at the gazebo in the late afternoon and early evening as we watched the daily sunset. We kept the boat at the boat dock and tried our hand at catching some of the fish that was hanging around the dock. Stump Pass was just a short boat ride away with nice sandy beaches and Don Pedro Island was a great spot for shelling.
The reason I can't give this 5 stars is due to the repairs that need to be done to the house and the outdoor areas. Pressure washing, painting, dock repairs, and electrical rewiring would enhance the property. Patricia promptly responded to our concerns about the wiring and the AC drainage issue and I hope that those issues will be corrected.
Overall this is a nice rustic beach house and provides a lot of space for a family. We would stay again. Thanks, Sandy
We had a great time with family. Always love coming to Manasota Key. The house had plenty of space for everyone.
The Location, the Beach and the Island are Perfect. One of the best Beach in Florida. The House is not Update in the last 20 years. A lot of things are broken and the Outsider Area has no see a Gardener since month. We are very un happy that er have to clean at ouer arriving because the House was so Dirty. To much Money for a week in that House.
