About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 & 1/2 Baths (Sleeps 6)

Bear View Cove is a nicely renovated and furnished mountain cabin located in the Smokey Mountains of North Georgia, just 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta. It is perfectly located at the tri-state borders of GA, NC and TN.

A complete renovation features wood floors, stainless steel appliances, and rustic mountain furnishings. This cabin is special because it is secluded from neighbors, with a long private driveway. It provides beautiful seasonal mountain views and is shaded with majestic oak and pine trees. The property is a few minutes from the Woodruff Boyscout Camp, providng thousands of acres of undeveloped forest land as the perfect neighbor for a mountain get-a-way. Enjoy the 1,500+ sq feet of outside patio and deck area, that features a hot tub, and an outside campfire site. Star gazing is amazing. The Chalet style cabin features two bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths with beautiful stained glass windows and updated appliances.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We needed a little R&R after moving out of our house (while waiting to move to our new place). Tired and worn out, we found this cabin to be the perfect respite. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful! The cabin was comfortable; king bed was the best I've slept in a long time! Loved the hot tub (can see so many stars at night!). Went fishing at nearby Lake Nottley—didn't catch any but it is gorgeous. We would definitely stay here again.

Cabin was updated and nicely decorated. Very cozy

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin and it was a great location. Secluded, but still an easy ride to the main road. Cabin was well-appointed and clean; Nice long drive way which was great for walking our dogs. Beautiful views from the front porch. They had a good time too!

Great value, cabin and area attractions

  • 4 of 5

We must begin by stating Seth went above and beyond in communication, thank you for your patience, knowledge and assistance in our first HomeAway experience.

If you read and follow all instructions, you are in for a great stay! This cabin was perfect for our family of four; we also appreciate being able to bring our fur baby along!

We were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the cabin is. Very homey! A sweet surprise was found in the sofa bed being an AIR mattress! The beds are comfortable and that is usually something we don't encounter when we travel, so thank you for that!!!

You can enjoy your stay so much more if you have a good nights rest. :)

Upon arrival, we needed a couple issues resolved and those were addressed quickly. They were unable to resolve the light not working in the stairwell and outlets along one side of dining room not functioning, so would suggest guests take flash lights for stairwell. Also outside flood lights didn't work; loading our vehicle proved a challenge in the dark. But seriously, for the price and what you're getting, we were thrilled and highly recommend ya'll visit Bear View Cove! You, most likely, will find those issues resolved by the time you get there ;)

Great except...

  • 4 of 5

Overall: loved it!

In depth: This cabin was perfect for my honeymoon. It's secluded in the woods and very cozy. A few things to know, though. One is that the gravel driveway can be very slick. Even in a crossover we slipped around on the driveway after the rain. I wouldn't recommend driving a small car here especially in the winter.

The A frame took a little bit to get used to (I bumped my head getting in and out of bed the first day and the upstairs bathroom is a little claustrophobic) but once I did, I fell in love!

There is no real mountain view from the cabin except through the trees. I personally loved seeing the trees, but I think in the spring and summer it might be hard to see the view.

The cabin is about 30 minutes from restaurants.

Having said all that, I was looking for a secluded escape and this was perfect. The kitchen was nice although I didn't do any cooking. The hot tub was a nice size and very romantic. The bed was very cozy and big, there is a TV in the bedroom as well as downstairs. We travelled to try some restaurants and really enjoyed Copelands and Bernies.

The only bummer was that housekeeping arrived early on our last day and rushed us out. I would recommend leaving early on your last day.

Seth was great and I would highly recommend this cabin! I wish we didn't have to leave!

Fantastic Experience!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Bear View Cove. The cabin was perfect and the area was so welcoming! There are many great wineries close by to visit and we look forward to visiting the Lake Nottely Marina next spring, which is located at the bottom of the mountain. Seth was a pleasure to work with and answered all of our questions promptly. I would highly recommend Bear View Cove for your next mountain getaway!!
