Thanks to Buckingham Properties for a wonderful stay in Lake Tahoe! They were very informative and professional! The home is lovely, tastefully decorated, clean and well maintained and has every amenity to make us feel at home. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked, the living room is comfortable with a large flat screen TV and a fireplace, there is a large wrap around deck with seating and a gas grill and a nicely fenced area off the deck for a pet, each bedroom has a full bath and the master bedroom offers a skylight over the bed for stargazing (very romantic), the kitchen and bathrooms have granite countertops and stone tile floors, the laundry room is equipped with a new washer and dryer, and much more! The property is in a quiet neighborhood, yet just a short drive to South Lake Tahoe. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely return!!
I loved everything about our stay. Cabin was beautiful. Extra towels and blankets for those who needed it, even firewood was provided! I can't help but think of great things to say. But there was one huge issue. I had some meat marinating for the drive, expecting there to be a grill. Both propane tanks that were at the cabin were both EMPTY!!!! Since we did not drive out there and took cab everywhere, the opportunity to fill up on of these propane tanks was very difficult, especially since there was no gas station within walking distance. I was very disappointed at this, as we were not able to enjoy a late night BBQ that we were expecting to have our first night. Instead we ordered delivery for pizza while everyone was expecting BBQ hot off the grill. This simple neglection ruined what would have been a perfect weekend for me. I hope for the next rental they would check their propane tanks before promising a working grill to them...
My sister and I worked with Buckingham Properties to identify and rent this property over the New Years holiday. They were really great and I would definitely recommend their services for Tahoe rentals. The Glen Eagle house comfortably accommodated our party of 8 and put us right between Sierra-at-Tahoe and Heavenly. The location was ideal. The house was very liveable. My three nephews stayed in the upstairs loft area and absolutely loved it. It was large and had amazing windows / skylights looking out into the woods. However, the other bedrooms (one on the second floor and one on the bottom / entry level) were pretty small and the bathroom area on the bottom floor was really too tiny to be practical. It didn't even have a door! The common areas were clean and comfortably appointed. The kitchen was the best we've experienced in a rental - it was huge, had great work surfaces, was very well-equipped, and included a beautiful, spacious dining room table where we could all sit. One other thing to note for potential renters --- there are several steps between the driveway and the front door, which can get precarious during the winter. For us, it was a pain to lug all our stuff up the stairs, but ultimately wasn't a big deal. However, it could be dangerous for anyone with physical challenges. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we would rent this property again. (Next time though, I'm making my sister take the bottom floor room.)
