About Linda Martenson

My husband and I live in California, but Maine is our summer home. I am a teacher in California, and we plan to one day retire in Maine. We currently have three properties in Maine, but this is our special, seasonal rental. We hope you'll love it as much as we do!

Linda Martenson purchased this house in 2013

Why Linda Martenson chose Boothbay Harbor Area

Aside from teaching, restoring homes and antiques is my passion. This home was purchased, renovated and decorated with loving care. It provides a special place for guests to unwind after sightseeing or as a home base for all the activities in the surrounding area. A large, private yard is perfect for a relaxing evening. Sit on the glassed-in porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of cool lemonade. Take a ride on the beach cruisers downtown and enjoy a picnic on the waterfront or a latte at Cafe Creme. A cottage is the perfect place to experience this picturesque New England town. If you dream of staying in a cottage like those you see in magazines, this is it!

What makes this house unique

This property has all the amenities of home and is within walking distance to walking trails, downtown shopping, restaurants and more. It is centrally located where guests can easily reach many darling mid-coast beach towns along the coast or on neighboring islands.

Great family base camp for mid-coast Maine

The listing description was accurate and the house was clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was also well equipped for making meals and eating in the house. The owner was flexible in dealing with our arrival times and promptly refunded our deposit after inspection. Bath is a wonderful town and the location gives ready access to Route 1 and WIscasset/Damariscotta to the north and Freeport to the south. We would stay here again.

The Perfect Doll House.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently spent an enjoyable and relaxing week at the Doll House. The moment you enter the front porch you feel relaxed and "right at home." The vintage/ beach décor is charming, homey and comfortable. All of the rooms are attractive and immaculate. The owners thought of all the needs of the renters from a well-equipped kitchen, extra bedding, plenty of fresh towels and a washer and dryer. Brochures for area attractions are provided. The location is an easy walk to the historic city of Bath, which has quality shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend the Doll House for its' vintage charm, cleanliness and great location. It is a perfect rental for families and or a couple. Our stay was wonderful and we will be booking at the Doll House in the near future.

Thank you to the owners for providing a rental that is quality, spotless and a convenient location.

very nice and cute house in quiet part of town

  • 5 of 5

Really a 'doll-house'. The house is very nice and cute. It resides in a quiet part of town and can be reached easily. The owner is flexible and can be contacted easily with all the questions that we had. Positive points: quiet location, cute house, clean and organized, well managed. Improvement: kitchen could be better equipped. We had a wonderful stay here!

I tremendously enjoyed my stay here

Very well-maintained, well-stocked, and clean place to stay. The location is great...it's not exactly in the center of Bath, but just a five minute walk to the stores. So the neighborhood is quiet, but not remote. It's also really convenient as a jumping off point for touring Midcoast destinations. The beds were very comfortable, which was really important to us. I'm glad my wife and I and our daughter stayed here, and we're likely to come back

Dollhouse

Nicely decorated clean house with more room than the pictures show.

Came with just about everything needed to keep things clean.

Well stocked with dishes and cooking pans. There was even a butter dish.

It could use an outdoor table and chairs for eating messy seafood (we brought our own steamer for clams & lobsters).

Nice walkable neighborhood a stone's throw away from the tourist part of Bath.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for choosing to stay at the Doll House in Bath. I am glad you enjoyed the accommodations, and I appreciate the suggestion of an outdoor table and deep pot to cook lobster/ steamers. Each year we try to add items we think our guests will enjoy. I will definetely consider adding these two items. Some items we added this year include a cot for a child to sleep in their parents room, high chair, baby gate, and a window air conditioner in the master bedroom. The Martensons

A QUIET, COMFORTABLE GET AWAY FROM IT ALL DOLL HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
Verified Stay

The Doll House is exactly as described, located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. The house has all the amenities you could ask for, and Linda is only a phone call away should you have questions or concerns. She's a perfect landlady, and fun to meet should you have the chance.

Bath, Maine is a desirable town with fine dining and many specialty shops. I would suggest a drive down to Popham Beach on Route 209 not only to put your feet in the ocean, but to have breakfast or lunch at Spinney's restaurant. Good food with an ocean view. Wonderful! I would also recommend J.R. Maxwell's for their prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights, and the Taste of Maine, across the big bridge for lobster and other seafood.

I hope to come back to the Doll House next year. It was a wonderful stay. Couldn't have been better.

Thanks, Linda.
