About Christina and Dave
About the Owners and This Home Dave and Christina purchased this home in 2015 after spending the majority of their summers on Cape Cod. Christina grew up in Bourne, MA just down the street from this home; and Dave spent many of his summers on the beaches of the outer Cape. After deciding that the outer Cape was just too far from Boston (where they currently reside when they are not on the Cape), they narrowed their search to this convenient yet quaint area that provided quick access to the highways, but with all of the benefits of being on the other side of the bridge. After a year-long search, they stumbled upon this incredibly charming antique home on the Cape Cod Canal and knew it was meant to be.

Why Christina and Dave chose Buzzards Bay
This home was originally built in 1830 and has been expanded over time to include two major additions and smaller expansions and upgrades over the years. You will find that some parts of the home are new such many of the windows, laundry and kitchen appliances, and bathroom fixtures; and other parts are very old such as the big wide pine floors, the closed-in porch and some of the windows in the upstairs bedrooms. We hope that you find this home to be both charming and comfortable, and will serve as the setting to many long-lasting memories for your family and friends.

Our group of 9 (3 families) had a great time in Bourne! The house was furnished with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the outside dining area near the barn and ended our day at the fire pit every night. The kids had a lot of fun playing ping pong and other games. The owners were very responsive and welcoming and answered our questions promptly.
Perfect spot for all access to The Cape
This was a charming home that was perfectly located for access to Bourne, Sandwich and Falmouth. Nearby groceries, restaurants and shopping. Our kids loved the beautiful yard and outside games while I enjoyed the hammock.
Beautiful, comfortable home at a great location!!!
Everything was perfect about this home. My family and I were all so comfortable during our stay! Anything we needed was available. We received a quick response from the home owners to any questions we had. Would highly recommend this property!!!
Great House, Ok Area, Fun Trip!
I will break this up into pros and cons:
-The house is very well kept, clean, and super stocked!
-Lots of games, toys, and activities for kids.
-Lots of room for groups and for the family to spread out.
-You can see the care taken to make guests comfortable.
-Close to stores as needed
-The glass museum down the road is a must!!
-The canal is nice to walk on.
-For such an old house...we did not see a single bug or spider!! Yay!
-No central air. It was in the low 90’s with very high humidity all week and we were so so hot.
-The house is right on, I mean right on, a very busy road with a stop light almost in front of the house. This meant that all week, all times of the day and night, cars and full size semi trucks were driving past, stopping at the light, and honking. The semi’s were also using their air breaks and it would shake the house a bit. The road also made it impossible to open windows to cool the house in the sitting room because you couldn’t talk or watch tv over the noise, and then the smell of truck exhaust would come in as well.
All in all, the house is very nice and well done. The owners are also super nice and very helpful. Honestly, great hosts matter more than anything.
Thank you again for choosing our home for your stay on Cape Cod. We appreciate such a thoughtful review! It's helpful for guests to know what you loved and things you didn't love as much. We take much pride in our home but more importantly, that our guests enjoyed their stay. To address your Cons for future guests, I've provided some additional information below:
While we do not have central air, we do have air conditioners in two of the bedrooms (both queen size rooms) and fans in the other two. We also have ceiling fans in the kitchen and the living room. Summers are typically quite pleasant being near the ocean, though August can get exceptionally hot and humid. We're sorry to hear it was so warm during your visit!
The front of the house is situated on a main road - which is important to note for guests with children and pets. The backyard is quite large and stretches back away from the road so there is a good level of privacy and room to run around and play games. Some of renters have brought portable pens for pets. We personally do not typically open the windows on the street side of the house, but it sounds like it was an extra warm week.
Thank you again for being such wonderful guests! We look forward to the opportunity to have your family back again next year.
Lovingly restored home with all the amenities. Close to the canal, beach and attractions. This is our second year staying in this lovely home, which is beautifully maintained and spotless. The owners are extremely responsive and a joy to work with. Highly recommend this property!
Great location for both Boston and the beaches/The Cape!
Great location, very nicely decorated, clean...two families/8 people had a blast staying in this house. I highly recommend it. Owners responded quickly to questions. The fourth bedroom with the bunk beds was a bit small for our teenage girls but they managed. Master bedroom was especially nice. Fans and window air conditioners were very appreciated as it was very warm while we were there. Hope to return some day!
