We put together a 'Things to Do in the Poconos' book and 'Local Hikes & Local Preserves' book with trail directions, info, etc. to give you ides.... if you decide to leave the house!!
We love the Poconos! We enjoy spending time together, hiking, kayaking, fishing, swimming, relaxing... anything to be together and away from the complexities of life!
The house is steps from the water and the views are unobstructed and beautiful. It is a quick drive in the car to what feels like a different universe. The sunsets are unparalleled and breathtaking!
The shape and feel of the house is an experience to remember. It's peaceful yet close to everything.... our favorite parks, mountains, the pool are walking distance from our home, as is a beach. We love the scenic diversity of the landscape and the opportunity to hike and explore. The outlets are only 10 minutes away (we are always up for good shopping).
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. We had everything we needed (even toys for the kids)! Going out on the water with the canoe and kayaks was so much fun and the pool was a 2 minute walk from the house. The fire pit got plenty of use and the terrace was a pleasure to sit on and enjoy our meals. Everyone had fun, from 80 year old grandmother to our 2 year old daughter. All the the neighbors were friendly and the owner was very helpful when we had trouble opening the shed and sent someone out to get the water running when it stopped on our last day. Taking out the trash was a bit inconvenient and we had to pay $10 out of pocket for garbage stickers but overall we enjoyed our stay very much and we would surely rent here again.
This home and the owners are amazing! This is the second time we have been to this property, but the first time with the new owners. The chalet was very clean and feels cozy but has tons of room for everyone to "do their thing." The downstairs area is large and has lots of stuff for the kids to do from toys to games and even a wonderful book selection which our kids took full advantage of. The home is tastefully and comfortably decorated, and the 3 recliners in the living room are fantastic! The kitchen is so well stocked with everything you could possibly need that we were able to cook every night. We even were able to bake cakes on my daughter's birthday while we were there, and there's plenty of space so all the kids could help. The outdoor space is fantastic, private enough to feel like a true "vacation" but with neighbors nearby, all of whom were very friendly. The canoe and kayaks were a hit with the whole family, and we used the fire pit most nights too. The owners were very responsive to emails and very accommodating. Overall a lovely, very inviting home that we absolutely recommend and plan to return to!
