Why Monique & Luc chose Saint-Germain-de-Vibrac
Coup de coeur as the French says. It is a beautiful location, the house is so authentic but with contemporary finishing. A house with a soul.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The environment: tranquility combined with a wealth of culture and leisure. The house is restored with passion and respect for the tradition. The heated swimming pool . The French way of live ... just like God.

I was joined by family and friends over a 2 week period at Chez Senant to celebrate my 60th. The house is ideal for this type of gathering; it has many seating areas both inside and out, a spacious kitchen with the most fabulous floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the garden and fields beyond. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly want and if you are a keen cook, the kitchen is a delight to work in. The games' room is another delight, offering many an evening entertainment.
The grounds are magical, with 2 tables outside for wonderful dining on the terrace or under the magnificent Tilo tree and various other spaces, depending on the evening breeze or your mood. The fields surrounding the house are a treat with wheat and sunflowers offering a varied and colourful view. There are lovely walks in the surrounding areas for those that prefer a more active holiday.
The house is near to many pretty villages and towns, offering a wonderful choice for visiting, markets, restaurants and shopping. Our favourite restaurant is Moulin de Narrat, only 3kms away - best to book. Located on a 16th century mill in a truly lovely setting.
Luc and Monique were most helpful and they have a great team that manages guests' stay. You will be guaranteed a wonderful holiday stay.
Thanks a lot of celebrating your anniversary at Chez Senant. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay and love the house as much as we do. The only thing I regret is the fact that Uruguay did not made it to the final against Belgium ;-).
Hope to host you in the future again.

Lovely French Farmhouse surrounded by beautiful countryside
The Farmhouse is spacious and fitted out with care particularly the kitchen with plenty of utensils and crockery/glasses but don't forget your adaptors. There is a washing machine and dryer, television and DVD to entertain the children when you want them out of the midday sun. Please note there is a high chair and 2 child cots. This is a delightful place to spend a holiday very safe for children and on the edge of a quiet hamlet surrounded by beautiful countryside yet only 10 minutes from Jonzac where there are plenty of shops, a market on Tuesdays and Fridays and a large supermarket E Leclerc for everything you would need. There is also a good Water Park 10 minutes away as you enter Jonzac (left at the first roundabout). The pool is a good size and plenty of poolside furniture to relax on. There are two outdoor tables to enjoy al fresco eating next to the barbecue and a swing for children hanging from the lovely sycamore tree on the grass. There are plenty of games from badminton to board games, books etc and past visitors have also left some inflatable toys for the pool. Close by and generally in the area there is an opportunity to taste and buy Pineau or Cognac from smaller local producers. St Germain de Vibrac has its own bottle bank (which is rare among the neighbouring villages) and this is very useful. The times for the Catholic church in Jonzac is Sunday 11.00am and on the west side of town (St Germain de Lucien) 19.00 on Saturday evening. There is also a wonderful Michelin Restaurant at Monzac 24 minutes from base 12 kms just north of Jonzac. The farmhouse is 30 minutes from Cognac (which has a hypermarket Auchan) and of course the famous Cognac Houses, Martell, Hennessy etc. One hour to Aubterre in the south (pretty village with underground crusades church - a must see), St. Jean d'Angle is 1 1/2 hrs NW with a Medieval Castle, very suitable for children - (involves some dressing-up - optional) and then if you like Roman architecture 1 1/4 hours just north of Cognac takes you to a Roman Amphitheatre and the guide will put on the English short film in the visitors centre if you ask. If you return to the UK via Cherbourg allow extra time to visit Le Mont St. Michel but you will need 2-3 hours there. We have had a wonderful family holiday and were 7 adults (including grandparents) and 4 children under 4yrs. This is a safe and relaxing way to spend a fortnight - ENJOY!
Thanks Nicolas and Christina for staying 2 weeks at Chez Senant and for writing such an useful and extended review. It will help future holidaymakers to make the maximum of their vacation.
Toller Urlaub mit viel Platz und Ruhe
Tolle Location für Urlaub mit Familie und Freunden. Man ist unter sich, hat viel Platz und jede Menge Ruhe!!
We thank Juiane for staying with us. Her family enjoyed and respected our house. Welcome back.
The historic town of Jonzac is within 9 km and offers bars, restaurants, casino, inland beach, cycle routes, indoor swimming pool/leisure complex and local market.
Chez Senant makes a perfect base from which to explore the Charente Maritime region. Within easy reach of the region's most popular attractions including historic towns, a wealth of architectural and cultural treasures as well as stunning beaches and islands.
