Very nice, 3 bedroom (upstairs), 1 and 1/2 bath, home right on the river.
Huge screened porch just steps from jumping in or launching.
50" LED tv with full fastest available internet, and a land line phone (cell service is spotty)
Home is in very nice condition and will be exceptionally clean for your visit. Double fish cleaning sink for your catch. Two new wooded decks right on the river.
We provide everything except-food,, and beverage of your choice.
Currently there are four kayaks included, and you can rent any water craft nearby.
We are near the takeout at Roger's Park (upstream, this is very important) and there is a huge nature preserve across the river (no homes). You can paddle upstream or boat downstream to the Gulf (in about 15 minutes)
Both wood decks are able to accommodate boats and the water is deep enough for boats and swimming.
Relax on the huge screened porch or the river decks and watch the manatees, otters, fish, and boaters come by.
We may consider some pets, especially if they are kept on the 1st floor (it has all laminate flooring) No promises, but you can inquire.
Home easily can sleep six, and we don't mind 8 if the kids want to sleep on the couches, or the screened porch (my favorite)
Come and enjoy the river !!
FYI - This home is not a party house. Neither the Owners or the Neighbors will allow excessive visitors or noisy partying.
We are a St Augustine family that fell in love with this area. The home right on a spring run is a life time fantasy, and now its real. General Contractors, Cabinet Company, and Real Estate rentals is our background. Special interests include Stand up Paddleboards, mountain biking, road biking, snorkeling, and boat building.
John Nock purchased this house in 2015
How can you describe "Riverfront" ? There is no substitute. That early morning plunge to the afternoon cocktails teasing the passing boaters.
Or lower you boat into the water and go see a Gulf sunset.
Quiet Dead End Street
Beautiful, Clean Home
Perfect location, beautiful home, and friendly and helpful owners. We could not have enjoyed our stay more! Our favorite part was sitting on the porch, right over the water and just relaxing. Home was super clean, beds were comfortable. So much to do...swimming right off the back porch, Hospital Hole a short swim away, kayaking either upstream or downstream, and the rope swing right off the porch. My son and I were excited about the fishing and we weren't dissappointed there either. Bass and snook were all within easy kayak range. We would recommend this home to anyone looking to stay on the Weeki Wachi. WE WILL BE BACK!!
The property was wonderful. Very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a fabulous time. My children loved it. We will be back for another fun and amazing time!
John's house on the Weeki Wachee is comfortable and spacious. The best part is the screened porch facing the river. We played cards, did a puzzle and just enjoyed watching people paddle and float by. There are four kayaks and a tube. We put them to good use. We were lucky enough to see manatees every day.
A group of four people met down in Florida for a weekend getaway. We had never stayed in the area before but we loved it! The manatees were so cool and we saw them every day. The kayaks were also great to use, and the place was overall really nice. We had breakfast out on the dock every morning and also loved having the grill. I would definitely stay here again, the place was very clean.
As soon as we excitedly walked in the front door after the long drive from Ontario, Canada we were impressed with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the place. Great living room with big TV, nice kitchen, big rooms with massive (and comfy) king size beds and huge screened room overlooking the back yard. The back yard was a perfect spot to relax with double decks right on the river where we could fish, catch crabs and swim and kayak right from the steps that led to the river. Manatees and huge fish (that eluded my hook and worm) swam by and dozens of Kayakers went by at all times of the day allowing for great people watching, especially the ones that had no idea how to kayak. our little shi-poo Hershey loved the fully fenced back yard and walks around the safe and quiet neighbourhood. Location is great with nearby beach (only $5 for parking but go early!), many restaurants, Walmart and Starbucks 10 min away, and handy for day-trips to Clearwater and Tampa. Many days we just wanted to hang out at the house. Overall a fantastic stay and a rental residence I would highly recommend.
The Luc-Johnston family
I planned our 2 week vacation for about a year - the first week being at Disney, the second being on the river in Weeki Wachee. Unfortunately everything went wrong - Ambulance, 2 hospital stays, surgery, pain, car problems, and 3 of us had a nasty flu virus. I mention this because staying at Weeki Wachee and kayaking on the river was our only relief. Mr. Nock was wonderful in trying to accommodate us when we couldn't make it on time for our reservation due to the above mentioned ridiculousness. I also had a few requests earlier in the reservation that he did his best to accommodate as well for our family.
After asking the kids what their favorite part of Florida was, they all said the manatees at Weeki Wachee (even over Disney)! The only issue would be the amount of motor boat traffic and smokers going down the river daily (the smoke was choking us on the deck/porch), and the tourists that didn't give the manatees their space. That has nothing to do with this property of course, but it is something that Weeki Wachee should do more to control. I witnessed a number of people crowd a Momma with her baby in shallow waters. If you're going to the river, please respect the animals and give them space. Also, make sure you bring bug spray - those little bugs left marks that lasted for weeks.
Overall, handling insurance paperwork was much more enjoyable on the porch of this house. Our bed was comfortable in the first room by the bathroom, the shower had good water pressure, the washer and dryer came in handy, the house had great space, and the kayaks made the trip very enjoyable and created the best memories of the entire two weeks! If we ever travel again after all we experienced on this trip, we would certainly think about renting from the Nocks again.
Located on the Weeki Watchee river about 1/2 mile from Roger's Park takeout and 7 miles from Weeki Watchee State Park. Sleepy neighborhood and the street is deadend. About 1/2 mile from very nice county boat ramp. All shopping and dining is just minutes away.
The state park is and iconic attraction from the 40's. Kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding are a huge draw on the area. Just downstream from the house, you enter the Gulf for supposed great fishing. Very nice, affordable , restaurants nearby.
A great place to unwind by a cool, shady, spring clear, river.
