Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9-11)

Savor dramatic penthouse views in your own private beach house. This light-filled four-story house offers the best in outdoor luxury living. Surrounded by glass and balconies on every level, Kentigern provides bedrooms with private balconies and great gathering spaces, all in one home. Enjoy the fun of your group and then retreat to your own space. Fall asleep to the sound of waves in the background. Wake up to fabulous sunrises over the Chesapeake Bay. This is a house you won’t want to leave.

Kentigern is sited on its own 2 acre sandy lot with a beach at the south end. For the adventurer, 2 kayaks on premise are provided for guest use. Kayak directly on the Chesapeake Bay or in the quiet solitude of one of the creeks where you and the herons may be the only guests. This house is an away destination: Herons are joined by osprey, bald eagles, pelicans and the occasional dolphin or two.

Scotland is steeped in history, too. St. Mary’s City, 10 miles away, is the original capital of Maryland. The area dates back to the 1600s and was one of the early colonies. Only 80 miles away is the nation’s capital, Washington, DC – if you can drag yourself away from the beautiful beach setting. Point Lookout Park, a Civil War POW camp and now a large park and campground, is only a short bike ride away. Nestled between the Bay and the Potomac River, the Park is worth an expedition.

Return to Kentigern again and again.

Beautiful, private and expansive

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for groomsmen to stay at for a wedding at Woodlawn. They enjoyed their stay and this property was beyond beautiful. Peggy was so helpful in letting us come drop off food beforehand and giving me all the info I needed. Some people were already formulating plans to make a trip back down and rent the house!

Great Design

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing place! Well to start with I went down with five of my guy cousins and friends and felt like we had the whole beach to ourself. The designer of the property is a true artist! There were balconies on every floor with a view of the bay from every room. I stayed in the penthouse on the top floor and would wake up seeing the sun rise over the bay from my bed(awesome experience). The sound system was amazing as well(has aux cord to plug right to your phone). My favorite part was the natural lighting on the main floor(living room, kitchen, and deck). The fishing was really good for perch. I caught over 25 perch in two days and they were the biggest perch I had ever seen. Also i caught 4 rock, 3 were baby rock and the 4th was 17inch. Not sure as the month goes if they will get bigger rock there or not. The place is pretty close to the ocean and the barrackish water may be a little to salty for their liking but not sure....Place was great, I will say to bring some extra comfortable shoes/slippers b/c your feet will be killing you if you walk around that house barefoot. The floor surface throughout is either wood or mostly tile. S/O to the elevator in the house as well lol...If you have a big party who just wants to relax and get away I highly suggest this place...just don't book it on the weekends that I am trying to go lol! Have fun and catch some fish folks. DMV BALLERS stamped and approved.

Fantastic getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great property. The house is very well equipped, literally had everything we needed, and accommodated 6 adults splendidly. Only downside was the beds are all queens. We will be looking to come back!

Jaw droppingly beautiful

We loved this house. The interior is clean up to date and luxurious. The kitchen is state of the art. There are no words for master suite. And, what surrounds you, calms you immediately.

BEAUTIFUL house on quiet and peaceful spot on the bay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at Kentigern and it was beautiful. The weather was very gray but it was still a gorgeous view out the many many windows of the house. The house itself is comfortable and warm and has a great fireplace and plenty of room for many guests. My only quibble would be that the doors to the bedrooms are not solid wood (they're slatted) so it can be loud if one is trying to sleep. But other than that, perfect stay!

Kentigern is heaven.

  • 5 of 5

Kentigern is a wonderful home. And I say home not house. As soon as you enter you just feel so comfortable. Everything you need is there. There were 8 of us. All adults. The place is big enough that everyone could have their own space if needed. Unfortunately we had much rain and wind, but we made the most of it by doing a puzzle, listening to music and cooking, eating and making cocktails. We did get a few walks on the beach in between the rain drops .Our last full day there was spent finally kayaking and BBQ ing.Our group has been coming to Peggy s from a few years now and we are never disappointed. I only wish we lived a little closer. 5 hrs drive from NJ. We would definitely come more often.
