2 Bedroom, 1.75 Bath Home On A Large Meadow Close To Town, The Beach, & Acadia!
About Sasha Ertl
I grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and moved to Maine in 2003 with my good friend and now-ex-husband (who is a Bar Harbor local) to pursue a career as a marine biologist. I fell in love with the house the moment I laid eyes on it! Since buying the house, I have worked primarily in Alaska, and now live in Colorado, but travel back to stay in my little home as often as possible! I have three dogs, an Australian kelpie and two Australian cattle dogs, so the house is very dog friendly! In 2013, we began fostering Australian cattle dogs through the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association. We fostered 16 dogs, including a mom and her 9 3.5-week-old pups, one of which being our resident property-greeter, Kebo (named after Bar Harbor's historic golf course). If you notice the chewed trim in the guest room, you can thank Kebo and his brothers and sisters for that. I love my little home on the island, and hope you will too!

Why Sasha Ertl chose Bar Harbor
My friend Matt grew up in Bar Harbor, and quickly showed me everything there is to love about the area. I lived there for two years before deciding to settle there. The bustle of the town during the summer, followed by the quietude of the winter make it a perfect little haven. I lucked out with the location of my home. It is located close to town, the ocean, and Acadia National Park, and less than a mile from Pirate's Cove Mini Golf, but are also off the main road enough that it is a quiet and peaceful location. The back yard is a huge meadow full of wildflowers and blueberries, sunrises and sunsets, lightening bugs, birds (including some resident barred owls that tend to roost on our trees and call throughout the summer, hummingbirds, and lots of songbirds), and deer, and a perfect shaded area to relax in the hammock or BBQ on the deck.
What makes this House unique
I bought my house because I walked in and instantly fell in love. It's a very easy place to fall in love with. The floor plan and the beautiful pine interior, plus the vast meadow in the back, complete with blueberries, wildflowers, painted sunsets and starry skies made the place a little piece of heaven.

Great property, great location
Can't beat the location for visiting Bar Harbor or Acadia. Beautiful property, much nicer than staying in a hotel or cottage.
Vacation in Bar Harbor
We had a fantastic time at Sasha's place and in Bar Harbor. We arrived to a clean house with helpful and friendly neighbors. The house had a well stocked kitchen along plenty of sheets and towels. Bar Harbor was a great place to visit, Cadillac Mountain was a great hike and we sailed on the Margaret Todd schooner one afternoon. We would definitely return to Bar Harbor and stay at Sasha's again.
This was such a lovely place close to the Acadia national park entrance. It was convenient to get from here to bar harbor - the Main Street which has all the restaurants and bars. It was probably a 12-15 minute drive from here to Main st and less than 10 minute drive to the park entrance. Otherwise, the house was well appointed with all the necessary amenities. It felt nice and homely :).
Stay at Bar Harbor
The home is beautiful...very tastefully decorated and comfortable. It's a little tight for 8 people. The fourth bed is an air mattress which is really best for one. Bring your own soap, shampoo and coffee! The neighbors and beagle are very friendly! The location is perfect...very quiet and close to the park entrance and to Bar Harbor. We really enjoyed our visit there.
Charming, quiet, and close to the park/downtown
Great! Would recommend to families with well behaved dogs
Bar Harbor incredible stay
We stayed 5 days in this incredible property. Best location imaginable, nears Acadia Entrance and Hulls Cove. The two story rental was perfect, and most comfortable. When we first arrived heat I believed was not on, and owners responded immediately. Turned out I was not familiar with the baseboard heat and I overreacted . Next door neighbor (Neill) was most helpful .Great, great, place to stay. If still available will try to return
A perfect spot to enjoy leisurely down time or vigorous physical activity, Bar Harbor is home to natural peaceful retreats, quiet, oceanside restaurants, hiking, kayaking, biking, and walking/running places for all ability levels, including the miles of carriage roads through and around Acadia National Park. Also enjoy golfing, whale watching, fishing and other boat trips, movies in our historic cinema or local "Reel Pizza" cinema and pizza parlor, fine and casual dining (must-haves are Jordan's, 2 Cats, and Café This Way for breakfast, an Emmy or Nomad at Side Street Café, and a blackened fish sandwich or salad at the Thirsty Whale!), and a round of mini-golf at Pirate's Cove, just up the street from our house!
