Commanding the best position, and DIRECTLY on the best beach to stay in Exuma and the ONLY BEACH with resident GREEN TURTLES to watch or even swim with is our modern,airy and spacious apartment .This has a sea facing King bedroom with sliding glass doors leading to the sun deck and the other bedroom has Twins or a King bed and is garden facing. Both have their own bath/shower room .

The Great Room , with lounge ,dining and kitchen areas is also sea facing with large, sliding glass doors leading to the sundeck which is equipped with tables and chairs to enjoy relaxing or dining .

Quietly located and surrounded by its own 1.4 acre tropical garden but only 12 minutes from the international Georgetown airport ( code GGT ) and 6 minutes from the capital together with a range of useful shops only a 5 minutes easy walk away.

The beautiful Hoopers Bay beach is is a few steps through the palm trees in our garden and is1 Km ( 1/2 mile ) long with soft sand which gently slopes into the calm sea. Safe for children of all ages as the bay is protected from the prevailing winds which may makes other beaches unsafe for swimming. On the beach we have loungers, tables and chairs together with FREE kayaks and paddle-board for the more energetic guests.

Wonderful Beachfront Property

Our two week stay at Sandy Palms was everything we hoped it would be. The apartment and location were "as described" in all respects - no surprises or disappointments. The apartment is spacious, well laid out and has all the furnishings, appliances and accessories one could reasonably expect or need. Hooper's Bay is truly beautiful and we spent far more of our time there than we had expected to. Our stay was also blessed with near perfect weather. Peter was tremendously helpful throughout our stay and provided us with excellent suggestions for other beaches to visit - we particularly enjoyed Coco Plum where we found numerous sand dollars. Peter's dining tips were also good - we especially enjoyed Shirley's at the Fish Fry and dining there on four occasions allowed to sample a decent portion of their menu. If we ever return to Exuma (and we expect we will) this would be our first choice for a place to stay. Our thanks to Peter and Betty for making Sandy Palms such a delight for visitors. Paradise on earth

The property is beachfront (20 steps or even less from the sea!!!) and very spacious as described.

We have found it very clean with all you need for a perfect stay.

Peter, the owner, is a fantastic person. He welcomes you showing all the details of the house and giving you all the necessary information. He is always available to give you suggestions and to solve any problem.

I reccomend it to anybody wants to spend a wonderful holiday in Exuma.

Ideal Location

We traveled with our two children ages 6 and 11 in June 2016. We had not been to The Exumas before so we had no idea what to expect. When we arrived the location of the home was exactly what was pictured. We had the upstairs unit using only 2 bedrooms, not all 4. There was lots of natural light and the views from both the living room and the King bedroom were amazing. You can see the ocean and beach and it is beautiful. It is located so that if you wanted to sit on the deck and watch and listen to your kids on the beach, you could do so. At the time we traveled, there were too many bugs to do much sitting on the deck. Be sure to buy bug spray and keep it with you at all times.

The beach at Hooper's Bay is absolutely beautiful. We tried 3-4 other beaches on the island and we kept commenting that "our beach" was the best all tings considered. The beach is wide with very little seaweed. No waves to speak of and almost deserted most days except for the turtles. We walked down to the last dock to the right of the house and could see the turtles off that dock every day! We also checked out the beaches at a couple of local resorts and at February Point. Hooper's Bay is by far the better beach!

When we arrived, we asked for a couple of items including more towels, and our request was answered quickly! The owner is very nice and helpful. It is great to have the extra space and having a washer and drier in the house is wonderful! The space was clean. The only thing I would possibly recommend is maybe the owners could purchase some new bedding and linens to spruce the place up a bit. But that is very minor, really.

All in all, a great place for families! We would definitely come back.

Perfect in Every Way--10 Star Vacation!!

When we first arrived on the the island we were greeted by the Sandy Palms Taxi driver at the airport. It was a short 10-15 minute drive from the airport to the house. Upon arrival Peter was there to welcome us, he gave us a tour of the house, beach and grounds, we were shown maps and reviewed points of interest. The use of Peter's rental car was reviewed at which time he took my husband and son on a short ride to review the driving laws (opposite side of the roads) and where some of the local grocery stores were.

The house is amazing, beautiful wood vaulted ceilings, tastefully decorated and clean. Nice big diningroom table, comfortable livingroom seating, nice size bedrooms with firm mattresses, washer/dryer and private bathrooms. Two decks, a small one in the back by the driveway/lane and a huge one in the front with two sets of tables/chairs facing the ocean. You have everything you need in the kitchen to prepare, cook and serve a meal. You have Prime Island meats & deli 1/2 mile down the road (great little store, get there in the morning) and Smitty convenience store/pharmacy/liquor store 1/2 mile down the opposite way. These are the only two stores you will need during your stay. They stock more then enough to meet your needs and I was pleasantly surprised and pleased that we did not have to travel into Georgetown for additional items.

The beach by the house is absolutely beautiful, each day brings new colors to the water. Some days a beautiful blue, other days emerald green all depending on the weather and if there is any Oolite(ask Peter) stirred up after the rain. There are Kayaks, sand toys, water floats, a paddle board and snorkeling equipment. More then enough beach loungers for all who stay at Sandy Palms. Plenty of beach towels are provided. Most of the time you will be on the beach all by yourself. Extremely relaxing and private. If there are other vacationers around they are so spread out you don't even notice them. In the crystal clear warm waters down the beach by the docs we met friendly sea turtles (they will swim right up to you), colorful fish under the piers, barracuda, sting rays and many different types of shells. Oh and I can't forget the sunsets each night! WOW!

This was a 10 star vacation!!!! Thank you so much to the Oxley's for this wonderful experience!!!! We look forward to returning in the the future.

Amazing Stay at Sandy Palms

We spent an amazing week in Exuma and in the Sandy Palms upper floor appartment!! This property was everything we were hoping for and even exceeded our expectations. The view is to die for and the appartment is clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed Hoopers Bay which I do confirm as one of the nicest beaches on Exuma!! Peter (the owner) was always there to give us advice or for any questions we had. Thank you so much for renting your beautiful appartment to us!! We will definitely return!!
