About Brian

We love relaxing and making memories as a family in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico. This cabin has been such a blessing to us and we are thankful to be able to share it with friends and family.

Brian purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Brian chose New Mexico

Ruidoso holds amazing memories for us. Its where we got engaged and we just kept coming back year after year to get away from the Texas summer heat and enjoy the mountain snow in the winter. We love to hike and run the miles of mountain trails. There is nothing like watching the millions of stars and milky way from the hot tub on a cool night.

What makes this cabin unique

You'll be close enought to town to enjoy shopping in minutes but you'll feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of main street. Its so much easier to make memories with family and friends when you can share a house together for a vacation.

Great location and responsive owners

  • 5 of 5

We had zero issues with the house and the owners were only a call or text away. We had an encounter with the wild horses and also deer right outside the front door. I think we saw deer each day we were there. Our kids loved it. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect location had all the requirements

  • 4 of 5

This house has everything you need for a weekend. It is 30 minutes from ski Apache but only 12 miles away ( driving up the mountain) the only thing I wished was that there was a shower head in the upstairs bathroom. The hot tub was perfect after skiing. We were able to feed the deer! The owners were very nice and easy to contact

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying and for the review. We love that the deer are like family at our cabin! Good points about the ski mountain location. Our cabin is conveniently located 2 miles north of the ski mountain road. Which is a big help after along day skiing since most of the traffic going down the mountain head south into town. To get to our quiet mountain retreat you instead travel north 2 miles to relax on the deck or in the hot tub. The 12 mile drive up to the ski resort is one of the most beautiful drives in New Mexico, but it should be noted that it does take a little time and there are no ski in, ski out accomodations in Ruidoso. Its one of the reasons the lift tickets are more affordable at Ski Apache than most other resorts. We do have a claw bath tub upstairs and a shower downstairs so you can choose from a relaxing soak in the tub or a shower downstairs. I hope this response is helpful to future guests. Thanks!

Perfect Ski Trip!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The major highlight for us was the hot tub, which we used as much as possible. We even had a close encounter with some deer while hanging out in the tub which was really great. The location of the rental is perfect, close enough to town that it is an easy drive but in the opposite direction of most traffic. It was a relatively easy drive to and from the mountain and the snow was really great this year. The owner is incredibly responsive and helpful, always available via text for helpful advice or to answer a question about the property. Will definitely be back during our next trip to Ruidoso.

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely location and accomodation. We are a family of six with 4 kids ranging from 7 months to 15 yo and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Our middle kids loved playing outdoors, feeding the deer, and playing in the cabin. We enjoyed movies, a fire at night, and home cooked meals. Just a short drive from Ruidoso shops, putt putt golf and the Rio Grande tap room - we couldn't have been happier.

Many thanks for a great getaway!
