Live like a local - but better. Walk to Oak Street and the Streetcar line on Carrollton.
3 bedroom, 2 bath totally redone April 2015. Fine furnishings, original local art, kitchen and baths fully stocked. Large flat-screen tvs in family room and master bedroom. One king bed, 2 queen beds, one fold out sofa. All high quality mattresses and linens.
Covered front and back porch and large back yard.
I am from Houston, and totally fell in love with with New Orleans when my daughter began at Tulane University.
Suzy Godwin purchased this cottage in 2015
I wanted a property close to Tulane, Audobon Park and Zoo, and Loyola University. I love this neighborhood. Walking distance to Jacques Imo's Restaurant and all the other bars and restaurants that Oak Street has to offer, 2 blocks away.
Beautifully decorated, throughly stocked, well-located home base for anything you might want to do in New Orleans. Owner is extremely responsive (so sorry about setting off alarm at 11pm one night!). We enjoyed the house, quite roomy for 6 of us, and the neighbors were welcoming and friendly. Beds are uber-comfy!
Beautiful, well stocked, parking directly in front of house
Walked to trolley stop, down oak street w restuarants and shops. Drove to cooter brown, local sportsbar to watch football
Trolley to french quarter
Saw celebration of oaks, christmas lites at botanic gardens
Might think neighborhood little "iffy" but neighbors nice, spoke often when walked dogs
Very nice place. Was skeptical at first with neighborhood but very nice neighbors. Beautiful interior with very nice appliances. Very easy to get to the convention center as we had work there everyday. Oak st is very nice with plenty of food options. I will warn you though, the beds were very comfortable, made it difficult to get up in the mornings. lol. Definitely will stay here again.
I can't say enough about this home. Everything was perfect the home is beautifully decorated and so welcoming. Suzy has thought of everything we had a blast
Well furnished and comfortable house. Everything is good quality - from the comfortable beds to the bathrooms, kitchen and living area. Quiet neighborhood basically, despite major renovations taking place in house across the street. Easy to drive to and from the house to other places in New Orleans. My wife and I also found it very interesting to walk around the neighborhood with its traditional style house. The immediate neighborhood has smaller houses and a 10 minute walk takes you to the old-style mansions, restaurants and streetcars going alongside the S. Carrollton Ave. The owner, Suzy, is friendly and quick to respond to questions.
The photo's on line show a very beautiful home, but it is even more amazing in person. The home is so well appointed and decorated you feel as if you are in a five star hotel. The beds are so comfortable as well as the rest of the house. The kitchen was well stocked. The location was very good and had parking right in front of the house for two cars. The neighborhood felt safe and was quiet. The neighbors waved as you drove by. Costco and Roberts Fresh market were very close. We highly recommend Breads on Oak if you are a pastry lover. Suzy was great to work with and accessible at any time. We would love to stay here again.
