Our friends and family are frequent visitors and always enjoy their stay in our guest cottage. We decided to open our doors to other guests and enjoy the diversity of the people who are drawn to the beauty of the desert.
Joshua Tree National Park is the major attraction in the area. Downtown JT has small unique shops, galleries, and restaurants. Palm Springs and all its attractions are a short drive, about 35 miles, down the highway. A bit further is the Cabazon Outlet Mall and Casino. Big Bear resort area is an easy day trip for those who enjoy mountain outings.
Two of us and our 7yo son stayed three nights at this cottage and would definitely go back when visiting JTNP. David and Patty are great folks and great to rent form. They responded to all my emails and texts instantly. When we arrived they met us at the cottage and gave us a quick run down of the place. They are very good at respecting your privacy but also very responsive and attentive should you need assistance.
The cottage itself is spotlessly clean and very well maintained -everything worked great. Supplies are well stocked. Both the bed and the sofa sleeper are very comfortable. The cottage is located on a quiet street 5 minutes form the west entrance station to JTNP and less than a mile form the visitors center and town.
This is is a find! Best in the high desert. Very clean and comfortable with exceptionally good security. Dave is a great host and has done a fine job of updating the cottage. We hope to return here next winter.
We spent the weekend at Dave and Patti's cottage and it was just perfect. We were in town for the Hwy 62 Open Studio Tour and central location of the cottage made it the perfect home base. The screened in front porch was our favorite place to sit and visit in the evening. Everything was extremely clean with high end appliances and comfy beds. Thanks Dave and Patti for an awesome weekend!
David and Patti met us at the start of our stay to welcome and show us around. The cottage was so cute and nicely set up. Everything we needed was there: toaster, coffee maker with coffee/tea, the best JT book that I used the whole time in the park, comfortable bed, books and DVDs, chairs to sit outside (watched sunrise and stargazed), patio (we didn't use it, but it would have been nice to grill). It was the perfect location for park access. Great haven to return to after a long day in the park. We enjoyed the stay very much!!
Other reviewers have already mentioned it's perfect location, cleanliness, friendly hosts, and so on. It's all true! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and highly recommend this sweet cottage, especially to lone travelers.
We just spent 6 days doing long day hikes in Joshua Tree National Park. We were fortunate to stay at the nearby Joshua Tree Cottage. It was great to start each day out at this clean, comfortable and convenient location, fix some breakfast and a trail lunch and then return in the evening. The couch converts into a very comfortable second bed. The full kitchen is stocked with everything necessary. Dave is a gracious host, who lives right next door and is a storehouse of knowledge on the area. We recommend the Crossroads Cafe in the town of Joshua Tree, where we ended up at dinner several nights, as a great place to eat within 5 minutes. More importantly, we highly recommend the Joshua Tree Cottage as a fantastic alternative to motels and camping available at a very reasonable rate. We hope to return one day.
Less then 2 miles to the west entrance gate to Joshua Tree National Park.
